My Hero Academia (Shonen Jump) move over pirates, ninjas, reapers, its Hero time

Considering the build up with Deku's blood I always assumed
Toga was going to land a fatal blow on All Might thanks to him letting his guard down against the big bad.
It will likely lead to a time skip in the series as well if there is one even needed.

Last two chapters are hype as fuck, Mirio is just amazing.

Not understanding people saying it's bullshit he kept fighting for five minutes. He is just that good - he had to be, he prepared himself to protect everyone - and he shook Overhaul's mind pretty bad. What is bullshit is Overhaul not being KO'd after five minutes of getting punched by 300% mad Mirio so Deku can kill-steal again.

Wonder if this arc will end with a villain getting shot with the quirk erasing bullets.

Also, after that Red Riot's flashback, we need an Ashido focused arc.

I too can't see why people are complaining about Mirio, in a world were Stain is capable of physically confronting multiple heroes and Endeavor too is quite strong even withouth flames.

Seems like they're hyping up episode 37

Wonder if they're gonna go above and beyond like they did with the Nomu fight at the end of S1. A fight I didn't really think much of in the manga but was pretty awesome in the anime.

It's the climax and "The Fight" everybody remembers like Todoroki and Deku so I won't be surprise for some Sakuga moments

Because they clearly fought someone with the ability to instantly disintegrate a person and at the same time can completely reform a room into deadly spikes.

Creying hard even the random backstory montage of his life and those funny moments and passionate moments all gone in the blink of an eye cause of a dumb bullet. I hope someway it was a faulty bullet and the effects can go away (or I guess it would be something odd and Horikoshi keep him permanent weakened, something where he can only phase a limb or something and give him hope for the future). Amajiki is gonna be crushed and feel at fault I bet :( Midoriya too.

I didnt want the stakes to be raised like this.

I took the eye movement as well that Overhaul was reeling from being touched. You see characters do that in anime when they are OCD about being touched.

So, don't get touched. It's totally believable that Mirio is a better fighter and inspired fear from Overhaul at that moment.

It's a shonen manga, not a real life boxing match.

We were already shown someone that was supposed to have superior fighting prowess that was getting disintegrated instantly everytime he fought Chisaki. Did you forget about Rappa? His explanation about fighting Chisaki was specifically to hype up Chisaki. The five minutes is bullshit.

Maybe five minutes is bulshit, but Mirio beating Overhaul isn't. Remember that his fighting style is all about prediction. Also remember that Nighteye was able to beat Rappa's clone using the same fighting style.

I thought it was a miracle and a triumph that Mirio survived the scenes we were shown. The five minutes is the thing that I specifically didn't like.

Honestly, the five minutes thing strikes me more as an "authors don't understand timescales" thing. Every time there's been a timer on-panel it's either been crazy short or weirdly long. This is the latter.

It's whatever.

I didn't forget Rappa. Did you forget he is an overconfident berserker dude who never tried to avoid getting hit? He probably thought Chisaki was a pushover and never thought he would get hurt.

Mirio knew he couldn't get touched and everything about his fighting style is based on the premise of not getting hit. It's really not that hard to believe, even more when you consider he had all the momentum/psychological advantage.

He was a fighter in an underground fighting ring that surely later had opponents that tried to dodge his one hit punch. He was a career illegal fighter.

So was Sano in Rurouni Kenshin and dude literally didn't know how to block, much less avoid, strikes for years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I really don't see how Rappa failing to dodge Overhaul's touch and Overhaul being a worse fighter than Mirio, at least momentarily, is such a stretch.

It's a tool to try and build hype by adding tension to a fight. But, like a lot of things in this arc, it just didn't really work.

Someone remind me what scene happens in the mall? The moment Handy gets handsy with Deku?

And then Uraraka comes up all worried.

I hope they extend the mall stuff, if they have time. Give us some light fluff with the other groups shopping so that when Shiragaki enters the picture we get maximum mood whiplash.

I think he was just off with the timing. He could easily build the same tension by saying 2/3 minutes.

Some people really don't like Deku huh? Surprised by that.

Eh, not that surprised. Can easily see why he'd take awhile to grow on people when you first start the series, and even then, there are several people in the cast that imo are a lot more interesting, so again, I get it. That said, it is always funny to read.

You don't want you MC to not have room to growth. It is the same thing that people say about Shigaraki. Many prefer other characters but amost none have the same growth as Shigaraki and Deku.

I dunk on Shiaraki because the dude continues to not really grow which is frustrating. His best moment was the mall scene everything else is him making impulsive bad decisions that somehow work out in his favor despite not being part of the plan. It made the a4o vs o4a fight weird when a4o kept talking about how all might was a failure as a teacher when by all accounts Deku had actually accomplished a lot more of what he set up to do then Shigaraki at the same time period in the story.

Part of this the fact that not only is he mostly a mook boss, it's not even like he really... particularly directs them, I guess? He just lets them off the leash and watches them go to town.

So between that and the fact he's not really done much in the way of actual villainous schemes - beyond, again 'unleash villains in a general area' - he's just... there.

This arc is the complete opposite of what you just said. He outsmarted Overhaul with the whole Togawice scheme and is doing some thing that actually made Gran Torino not go to the raid.

Wait how do we know Gran Tarino disappearance have to do with Shigiraki

Besides even if he was the reason it could be on Gran own doing since he is the grandson of a close friend

Worth noting that Shiragaki's getting graded on a curve. Villains have basically been limited to petty acts of vandalism and knocking over the occasional convenience store since All Might. Shiragaki's not operating alone, but he still basically led large attacks on a major pillar of heroic society; by those standards, he's pretty impressive.

Eh, that's screwing over another villain group, and is more counter-play than anything else. For me, that doesn't really feel like he's done much in the context of being a villain.

...Then again, I am probably biased in this regard due to bad experiences with how fans of the series have written their own 'villains'.

His character arc of being a hyper-obsessive kid who can't learn to live w/ reality who gets wish fulfillment is...not the best start.
I disagree. Not only this is a very ignorant way to describe the story, ee are just seeing the repercussions of him getting OFA out of nowhere. The fact that so many people see that Mirio deserved OFA more than Deku shows that Deku has to prove he is worthy.

Well, he does learn to live with it. He was about to give up and become a police man once he got his need to rescue atleast one person (Bakugo with the slime dude) out of his system, and it's then that All Might gave him the quirk.
