I don't much care for shipping, but the Ask Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie tumblr is pretty cute and the shipping in it is much more innocent than that genetics post makes it out to be.
That Twilight X Pinkie stuff on the other hand...

Funny typos aside, I don't usually mind fanon but when you get to in-universe explanations of why two female characters can have a child then you get way into fucking creepy fan territory.

I largely argee. Shipping can be fun as long as it's not taken too seriously, and you avoid the obvious "this is my fetish" stuff.
