I just ran across the first piece of art that genuinely made me pause for a second and think about whether it was too much or not. I wonder if it's really old or not.

Of course it wasn't too much, but I did have to think about it for a second.

Too much in my opinion. Megasweet and Kloudmutt have a nice art style and have made some cute pics, but their more adult stuff really creeps me out. Too bad they usually make more creepy stuff than cute stuff.

Dinky fanon started when a background unicorn in Winter Wrap Up was seen that had a color scheme and hair style very similar to Derpy's. Fans thought it would be cool if the little pony was Derpy's kid and she was a single mother.

It might have seemed odd for Dinky to be a unicorn and Derpy a pegasus, but according to Faust it isn't impossible for different types of ponies to 'mix it up a little' so it isn't far fetched that a unicorn can result as a child.

Yeah, it's an uphill battle, that's for sure. Regardless, even if the link wasn't posted I'm sure detractors would have been able to find the pic on one of the more questionable websites out there.:\

Agreed. Between this and the big human pony debate it has been a weird couple days, but it'll all iron itself out in the end. Synchtube is tomorrow so things should return to normal. Then again, we are watching Pinkie Keen and Sonic Rainboom so it might make for an interesting discussion afterwards.

I hope none of you delicate posters randomly browse ponibooru. Compared to some of the terrible Scootabuse (eff you Ottanta!) I've seen on there, that image is downright tame.

Is the pic good? No. Is it worthy of posting? No. Is there way way worse stuff out there? Of course. At least due to forum rules, and the outbreak pics like that receive here, we never have to worry about the truly vile crap ever making it's way here. With people reacting the way they are for that, something that is really overthetop will never ever get posted, unless the person is account suiciding.

Touche! The "worth posting" part would have been better off being "appropriate for GAF". However, the quality of it would be subjective. I did get a chuckle out of it, but I don't personally think the pic is well drawn, others may disagree.

This is a perfect example of fanart I simply don't get. They don't look like "humanized" ponies (as far as "humanized" goes in Animu), they just look like totally random anime characters who somehow happen to wear fan stuff of MLP, or something.

Dunno, doesn't make any sense to me.

I think it's legitimate

It takes their visual elements and applies them to templete characters, more or less. It's just like a super idealised moe version of 'em.
