Jack Scofield said:My 360 died from the RROD today, so I went to their support section of their site to find a way to have the coffin sent to me. After putting in my information, it said that my Xbox was out of warranty. What? I thought Microsoft instituted a 3-year warranty plan for all 360s?
gnarkill bill said:So we're supposed to get a confirmation email about them sending the box to us? I ordered mine a few days ago and im just curious about how this process works exactly.
Anerythristic said:# 2 just RROD this evening. I was told I would be emailed the postage paid shipping label and would need to provide my own box. That really sucks.
BakedPigeon said:I have bought two different 360's and both are absolute fucking garbage because you guys suck horse balls at making reliable hardware. One of my consoles gets some "E63" error half the times I start it and the other has such a fucked up disc drive that I am required to spin the disc manually upon startup, and even then I will get unreadable discs 2 minutes into play time.Fuck you microsoft you cum guzzling pussy queefs.Your company can go suck a throbbing veiny cock, and I hope you fucking choke on it.
2 Minutes Turkish said:Thought I'd post in here rather than start a worthless thread, but I bought an Arcade with a manufacture date of August 13 2008 (In Australia) and attached a 120GB HDD to it.
Anyone know if this is a falcon or Jasper? The power brick is 175 or 173W and I gotta say, when there's no disc in the system it's pretty much as silent as the Wii.
Keep in mind, I also have a Halo 3 Zephyr and that was tough as nails, but I've packed it away.
So any Aussies, go go go for Arcades and new 60GB Pro, they are pretty damn good.
According to the Xbox 360 DVD Drive Database, it appears Xbox 360s outfitted with the much-anticipated Jasper chipset have finally started showing up in stores and at online retailers.
The key things to look for when buying a new Xbox 360 with the Jasper chipset is a manufacturing date (MFR) as early as 2008-08-06, Lot 8031 and up, and Team CSON.

I'd ask for a box instead of a label. Also, sounds like something is going wrong in the email chain somewhere... I can't see why they wouldn't have mailed you by now.Anerythristic said:Fuck!! RR on Saturday! Called Saturday was told I would be emailed a return label in 24-48hrs. Wednesday rolls along no Email. Called Wednesday night complained guaranteed a new E mail. It's Friday no fucking E mail.
Before I call back I need you guys to help me. Who do I talk to and what do I demand?
Captain N said:doesn't the lemon law apply to the xbox 360? They want me to pay 100 dollars. This will be my 8th xbox to have been busted.
Might interest you... based on the stats I collect here at GAF for every 100 RRoD failures there are 9 other red light failures on average (That covers all of them though, not just E74).Woffls said:E74 can go to hell. Lost my Launch Premium to that 2 years to the day. I refuse to accept that I shouldn't be compensated for that considering all the other faults they've acknowledged, despite being told they're unrelated.
NutJobJim said:Well MS have officially fucked me in the ass.
I bought a Premium 360 at launch, it worked fine, but I traded it in a year ago and upgraded to an Elite (because I like black stuff :lol) That Elite worked fine for just over a year then completely out of the blue, it started freezing and now it won't play any game without freezing up.
I rang MS expecting them to fix my console for free, they fix the RROD for free right? Well apparently they won't fix my Elite for free because mine isn't a common problem and they are instead going to be very kind and give me a nice hard fucking from behind, with a huge metal rod, in my poor sore anus. Translation: they're gonna charge me £60 or $120 to fix their lousy hardware! Obviously I kicked up a fuss, obviously I swore down the phone at them, and told them that I'll never buy another MS product again, but it made no difference.
So that's it, I'm a man of my word, MS can go fuck themselves. I will never buy another MS games console or product again-this pains me especially because I love Gears of War. Anyway I've got this useless lump of a 360 in front of me and I'm thinking I should try and induce the RROD on it so that I can get it fixed for free and then at least be able to make some money on selling it.
Is there an easy way to get this baby glowing red?

Edit:
OMG it's a miracle! I typed out that post, tried my 360 one last time, and saw those glorious 3 flashing red lights! Now they have to fix it for free. NutJobJim escapes anal rape once again!!!!

I called Xbox support and climbed the chain of command, but even the highest guy I could talk to would not repair my Xbox for free. I'm curious if any of you have run into a similar situation, and what you did.

Jamesfrom818 said:I shot hot air into my 360 with a hair dryer for a few minutes and it started to work. Its been off for a few days now so I'll probably have to do it again in order to get it to work.

Thanks for the support bro.2 Minutes Turkish said:I'm sure it's not true, but I swaer sometimes I look at all these posts of dying 360s and I reckon more than half are made up.
I've had 4 and only ONE of those died, which was the launch one after 12 hours.
I know over a dozen people with 360s and ONE of those had again, a launch unit die.
I don't know what the hell you guys are doing to your 360s for them to be dying so often.
