Well One Piece for one. Its much longer than Naruto and the quality has increased over its entire run.
Oh and dont even get me started on how much better Jojo is and its one of the longest running mangas of all time.

Right, keeping in mind we're just going off by opinion, you've named only 2 other highly regarded manga series of similar/longer length (lol at One Piece being much longer).

Well theres also dargon ball, hajime no ippo, detective conan, berserk, and hell yugioh is still great. Naruto just sort of fell flat compared to all of these other ones. I personally havent read all the long running mangas so I cant list them all but honestly it going on as long as it has is no excuse for it to have gotten to the level of mediocre it has become.
I'll just say I strongly disagree and leave it at that.

Yeah, they both have been around almost the same time. Naruto pilot chapter was in 97, the same year One Piece started, but wasn't picked up till 1999.
I still get the much longer though because it still is a lot of extra weeks. its what 150+ more chapters. Some mangas don't even get 100 chapters to tell their whole story while OP and Naruto have to try to remain fresh after 600+ chapters.

I was thinking that but then I thought about it and I dunno how they wouldve ended at part 1. Since they still had Itachi and the akatsuki so even if sasuke came back there were still a lot of plot points that needed more time to be worked on.
Although I think the biggest thing that would have helped the series would have been not making sasuke evil and not focusing Narutos entire character on getting him back.

Im not saying it should have ended at part 1 , it like more like the quality between part 1 and 2 is like night and day.And I totally agree that they should never made sasuke evil, he should have been more like a antihero.

Sasuke should have just been Vegeta and have his Retrieval arc just be his majin vegeta phase.

Let's be honest, a good many of the characters are pretty fucking terrible.

Woah woah woah, let's not get crazy here. Kishi's got Kubo beat, Bleach has way too many characters to develop any sort of relationships.

You're comparing the best relationship in Bleach to one of the worst in Naruto, that's hardly fair.
It isn't longer in length but OP does feel "longer" because it's world is vastly more explored, as well as it's lore. There are also still alot of mysteries making you want to dive into it's world more and more.
Don't get me wrong I really like Naruto but Kishi should have explored, and explained, the world of Naruto more in depth.
Also One Piece will go on after the death of our Grand children so in time it will be vastly longer, ohh oda.

Jiraiya. Done. Bleach has way too many characters and hardly any of them have any sort of individual development let alone relationship wise. The cast is far to big and the pacing far far too slow for that kind of thing. The series is like 90% solo fights.

So am I. Jiriaya is hardly a filler character. Look at Bleach's pacing, there's literally no time to develop anything but fights because that's basically all it is. It's cast is too big for it's pacing and Kubo keeps trying to give them all time under the sun. He introduced 26 new bad guys this arc ffs.
Bleach has too many characters and even then they have more involvement with the story than Naruto's also pretty large cast, which is glorified set decoration. You ain't Naruto or you don't have magic eye powers (the right kind, mind you, none of that Byakugan shit) then you ain't nothing.

That's more than fair and I agree completely.
Well let's be fair and admit that not every character needs to be integral to the plot. Kishi has certainly mishandled his large cast and not involved enough of them, but Kubo went in the opposite direction and has involved too many and it bogs down the pacing of the story since he tries to give them all fights. There's a middle ground somewhere between the two extremes that is where the ideal is.
And everyone became friends in the end! lol
But really OP is the epitome of how development should be done in manga.
That middle ground is...One Piece! Gigantic cast, handled quite well.
An example of this is the doflamingo family.

Yeah, this is true. Sasuke and Naruto's supposed friendship IS forced as fuck.
It's far from the best relationship between characters in the manga though and everyone and their grandma will admit that.

I've said it about OP before but for me personally I don't like that it's such a big cast because a lot of time is spent on people I simply don't give a shit about no matter how hard it tries to make me care.
But I realize that is what some consider a good thing. Different strokes again. I have the same problem with hunter x hunter. Arcs can spend a lot of time dragging with stuff I just don't care for. With that said, I enjoy hunter x hunter a lot. OP loses me for a while every so often.
