NASCAR: The Game 2011

Screens look okay to me, maybe a little too much bloom and a little too much filtering smudge, but overall, good enough. More worried about handling, overall presentation, online and steady FPS than the graphics, so we will see. Seems a bit crazy that the game is coming out in February - seems too soon after just being announced.

summary of info so far:

* Split-screen offline multiplayer.

It's so sad that I have to double check for this feature in racing games nowadays.

I'll get this game.

CTRL+F Nationwide :(
CTRL+F Camping World :(
CTRL+F Home Track :(

Would be awesome to have a "Start on your home track and make it to the Sprint Cup" mode.

Next year maybe. They're building an all-new game from the ground up.

Considering the game is handling 43 cars on track at the same time, I am fine with the visual quality. Now I am just hoping for a steady framerate.

No way in hell this is 60fps then but still, all drivers in visible view is worth the compromise to 30fps.

Damn this is looking good. And Feb is a great launch date. Get the drivers playing it on air at Daytona and advertise the hell out of it.

Not actually that important
lighting looks good, but in the video they only showed 3 cars racing so we can't get anything about framerate with the full grid... I've also seen a bit of screen tearing but it's just a demo build after all.

Why the hell is Danica Patrick in a Cup car? Robby Gordon owns the #7 car in the Cup series, not Jr. Motorsports. And the #13 is Germain Racing, not Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing. What the hell is going on? We need a driver list.

And Activision passed up on the F1 licence, AND is dumping Bizarre Creations?

I really hope they put new car models in for the new season. I believe Dodge and Ford are both doing away with the splitter and braces.

Can't wait to try this out and see how the handling feels. This game has tons of potential, and it seems like Eutechnyx really respects and appreciates the series. I'm impressed that they are giving us all of the appropriate options to set up the cars. Set up is super crucial on ovals, so it's great that they seem to be pulling out all the stops.

Does anyone know if they are going to release a demo? Since this is published Activision I'm guessing no.

Activision has the license now? Well . . . good for them since they need new franchises badly. Of course NASCAR has not done well lately but much of that could be blamed on the crappy quality of the most recent EA attempts.

Day fucking one.

No PAL release is planned:

"NASCAR The Game 2011 will be releasing in North America only"

Fucking Activision :lol

edit:

To clarify, the PS3 version is region free. The Xbox 360 version can be played in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The is no region lock online so you should be able to play each other worldwide.

What's a reliable game exporter?

Axelmusic (customs free) and Videogameplus. Axelmusic is cheaper but sometimes it takes 2 weeks to arrive (VGP ~1 week).

The framerate in that gameplay footage is atrocious. And since Activision wants a February 15th release date, I'm not optimistic that they can solve this issues in less than 1 month.

Official release date is now 3/29:

THe main reason is we simply wanted more time to polish it and hopefully make it the experience you guys are craving. Its never easy to delay a game as it can cause a lot of disappointment, but we genuinely feel that by doing this you guys will be even happier with the end product.

Believe me were all just as desperate to have this game in your hands now and get online and race against you guys. But sometimes more time is needed to get that fantastic end product we want to ship.

they've dropped day/night and brake wear from the game. i bet the youtube upload is next...

Eutechnyx has released two new preview shots of their upcoming NASCAR The Game 2011, showing the title’s extensive damage model in effect on Jamie McMurray & Jimmie Johnson’s NASCAR Sprint Cup cars.

In related news, Eutechnyx’ Dave Thompson is regularly answering questions regarding the title in the his Twitter profile. Below are some of the most interesting things that have been mentioned in the past few days:

- Engines won’t blow up
- Individually modelled victory lane for each track
- Extensive damage but no DNF’s
- Off-line split-screen mode
- Tracks come with multiple racing grooves
- Fully modelled pre-race ceremony
- No day/night transitions
- Damage level won’t be adjustable
- AI drivers will make mistakes
- Tire wear is simulated, break wear isn’t

NASCAR fans outside of the United States will have a harder time getting their hands on the upcoming title as NASCAR The Game won’t be sold in Europe and other territories. Importing the title will be rather easy though as the Playstation 3 version will be completely region-free while the Xbox 360 version works in Europe, Australia & North America.

Those seem like really bad additions...
