Nate the Hate: Nintendo Direct planned for end of July

Just listening to Nate the Hate's podcast from yesterday evening, with MVG.

He's heard a Direct is coming this month following the release of Donkey Kong Bananza, and prior to the 1st August earnings call. Separate to the Pokemon Direct.
 
They need to announce a date for MP4 with an epic Zelda like trailer (hope and pray), and kirby Air riders which is supposed to come out this year, and the hyrule warriors game.

Is it too much to hope for a Metroid Prime 4 release date and a stealth drop of 2 & 3 on the eShop?

Given how long ago Prime 3 was released, it seems like they would almost need to re-release 2 and 3 before 4, doesn't it?

Nate has almost a 100% hit rate. This will be revealed tomorrow and then shown on Wednesday.

I don't expect a massive amount of new reveals tbh. Maybe a couple of big names but like Sony they have to space them between the first several years of the console. I think we'll see a few Switch 1/2 HD ports (Kirby Planet Robobot and Mario Galaxy 2HD), a new Fire Emblem for Switch 2 only, Metroid Prime 2&3 on Gamecube VC and more footage of Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment and Prime 4 with a release date. Then a big final game teaser either Smash, Animal Crossing or 3D Mario.

I want them to close on an epic BotW/TotK style Metroid Prime 4 trailer. They need that moment of wow for this game. I know it's been playable, and there was an indepth overview, but both Zelda games got that as well. This could make Metroid bigger.

After he held strong through the Switch 2 reveal drama and came out triumphant, I wouldn't bet against him.

Especially since the villain in MP4 is based on/comes from a cameo appearance in Corruption in a 20 second cut scene from the perfect ending. I know people don't really play Metroid for the story but Prime-trilogy has an interesting story and character arc for Samus, and I bet there will be a lot of references to the original trilogy in Beyond.

More people probably know Stylux from Metroid Prime Hunters.

Ironically it was probably the least interesting of the playable characters/ alien races.

Haven't played Hunters. But it's probably a good thing he was on there so more Metroid fans know about him, because I suspect not many people saw him in Corruption.

It's a weird game. Doubt many people played it either. One of the characters was a bug thing that had a grub like mode instead of Samus' morph ball. One was a rock monster that I think was the last of it's species. Oddly enough there was a character from the Space Pirates but it wasn't Stylux. Although Stylux did hate the Galactic Federation so he may have teamed up with them this time.

Disagree considering Lockjaw and the tripmines and high speeds were part of what makes Sylux so great and we aren't even getting to how hard the Shock Coil can Snowball with the EN/HP drain. Sylux had the most work put into him with the Sleek Exo suit and his Spacecraft.

Sylux hates the Feds and Samus because reasons and it's been speculated that it's either a rogue AI, Adam's brother that maybe survived the Other M incident, a Fed defector from Fed Force or maybe being a part of the rogue faction that is not seen much in Fusion. We will find out probably in Prime 4.

The only other Hunter of prominence was Weavel who survived an encounter with Samus.

All the other Hunters were one note between Spire the Rock guy, Kanden the Lab Experiment gone wrong, Trace an Alien of a insectoid Hive mind looking to expand and conquer other worlds, Noxus a Vhozon who is a space Paladin that wants to exact Justice on all that is evil no matter the cost.

I don't remember any reason for Stylux's hatred, they were as one note as the rest of them to me but without the interesting alien aspect of the others.

Oh they all were. Most of Sylux's rise to fandom is having similar tech to Samus's Power Suit and just looking cool. They were about as one and done like Gandrayda, Rundas and Ghor in MP3.
 
I just want to see a couple more Switch 2 first-party exclusives.


Both of the announced exclusives, MK World and DK Bananza, are already out. Let's see what's next.
