"the last of us 2 mutiplayer" isn't something that exists anymore and hasn't since around 2019/early 2020. Whatever was originally meant to be the MP for TLOU2 got spun off into its own stand alone thing and is considerably bigger than a tacked on MP mode.

To answer your question though, TLOU MP should come first, possibly as soon as early 2023 since we know Sony are launching 2 unannounced live service games before the end of March and Neil said we'd hear more about this game in 2023.

If you read their Twitter Bio's, its pretty obvious that theres multiple projects/directors going on at once. Neil and Kurt are likely directing 2 different projects.

Considering they are two of my favorite games of all time, and the second was significantly better than the first... I would like to see how it ends.

I think, like the original, Part II had an ambiguous enough ending that it could stand on its own, and just end there. However, it proved that if they feel like there's more story to tell, I want to see it from them.

TLOU is arguably my favourite game but after the depressing slog of TLOU2, I don't have much interest in the universe now. Hopefully they turn it around, though Druckmann seems like he's from the Rian Johnson school of inflated self-importance so it's highly unlikely.
