Ellie has to die. That much is obvious.
So they could either do something sensible and have an excellent, self contained story with her and Tommy working towards a hospital where she can be operated on.
Or, they can do something silly featuring Abby, Lev, daft politics and a ‘redemption arc’ with Abby having to protect the thing she hates the most.
Edit: another option would be for Lev to be bitten and show immunity, and Abby to have the same choice that Joel did.
Either way, it ends with a vaccine.
Or, Covid hits and the zombies have to endure a mask mandate.

I honestly feel we haven't seen the last of Abby and Lev. Who knows...i can see Ellie's story ending in this 3rd game. Abby was going to what's left of the Fireflies...maybe Ellie ends up going there by herself and sacrificing herself for that immunity.
But all this just makes Joel even more of a clown, lmao. Ultimately he killed an entire army, got killed as an act of revenge for what he did...only to Ellie ending up doing what she always wanted, lol.
I feel that the next game will be a Redemption kind of game though.

To be honest, Abby wasn’t the problem with TloU 2. Yes, she had silly arms but her story was well told, was reasonably coherent and had some sort of moral logic to it.
Ellie they just butchered. She is awful. Evil, selfish and utterly unlikeable. The ‘revenge’ carnard did not explain things. She’s awful from the beginning.

As Tess once said "Guess what, we're shitty people Joel". Everyone is "an asshole" on that game and the main point is...you have to be to survive. Joel himself told Ellie on the first game he killed innocent people after they saw a bunch of bodies pilled up and burned. Tommy said he still had nightmares from those earlier years he was with Joel as well. For Tommy himself to say that...can you imagine what they did?
In the end of TLOU2, we understand Ellie was like that because she couldn't forgive herself for not forgiving Joel in time. She lets Abby go, because of 2 reasons: Lev (which is why her only sentence to Abby is "Just take him") and because she reminded herself she and Joel did make up the night before it all happened.
Yeah she's an asshole...but i get her reasoning. She lost the only person that actually cared for her...and it was her fault she pushed him away during the last few years.

But my fundamental problem is that she had nothing to forgive. Joel, quite literally, loved her more than the rest of the world and saved her accordingly.
I simply can’t accept the premise that Ellie would be angry. It makes no sense. If anything, she should be more full of love for him.
This ‘it was what I was supposed to be’ stuff is drivel.

As much as i love Naughty Dog and as much as i think TLOU 2 is a seminal game i am a bit disappointed if Part 3 is their next game. I think they long deserve to try something new and i have no doubt it be as successful if not bigger than TLOU.

They‘re going to follow the classic three act trilogy: the first and best one, the second and darkest one, the lighter concluding one.
Naughty Dog constantly show their movie influences in their games. No surprise they’ll want to do a trilogy.
The plot will be about Ellie making the ultimate sacrifice to save humanity, and a new playable character will probably be involved.

For me personally I’m done with the series. I enjoyed the first one, but never had interesting in playing Part II. I do look forward to the next Uncharted though.

It's time for Abby's pecks to shine in the sequel ending in 3. I want to see her and a mildly intelligent clicker which seems to have given up it's aggressive nature to pursue its place in today's world. It'll be structured, story-wise like a buddy cop movie from the 80s. Graphics will be bleeding edge. 23fps for the cinema direction, RT Maxed out for the cinema direction, as well.(RT tech was how they achieved the 23fps cinema tech)

A TV show is on the way, they will bank all on TLOU3 because that is what half the world will be watching on TV. You've seen what the Witcher show did for W3 sales and that show is half low budget.Of course they will make a TLOU3 while the iron is hot. There will be a new IP this generation but not before part 3 guaranteed.

Half the world will be watching TLOU TV series, making it the most successful TV show in human history? That's an optimistic prediction.
Anyway, there is no guarantee the show will be a success. If it is, then people will pick the first two games. In the meantime, ND can release a new IP and then get cracking with TLOU 3 if the show turns out to be huge.

I never said it will be successful, I just said 30% of those people will go and check the games out. Imagine the show is popular and then you want to see what the games are like and you see...Jack and Dexter as their next game. I mean...what do they gain by risking when they know they have an unfinished trilogy that will sell like crazy. TLOU2 got terrible feedback from fans when they found out about the rumors and the game sold so far almost as much as the first game but it took them only 1 year to get there so this will just boost sales even more.

Indeed. Apocalyptic, and post apocalyptic stories have always been a fairly popular genre. It was huge in the 50s, 60s especially during the height of the cold war and real threat of nuclear Armageddon.
It's obviously huge now, but a significant amount seems to involve zombies which is the most unrealistic apocalyptic scenario possible.

If somebody is interested in the games after watching the show, they'll find TLOU part 1 and 2, with part 1 just recieving a remake on PS5.
