I smell another cancellation for NBA Live this year!
I think they should seriously contemplate a 5 year cycle for their games.
Maybe a few more years they can get it to look on-par with NBA 2k10.
Golf was amazing! Let's see at various times in the 90s you had hardcore/"realistic" sims like Links and PGA Tour. Amazing arcade titles like Neo Turf Masters and Hot Shots. Mascot games like Mario Golf. And I could go on about classics like Zany Golf.
Man, I miss variety. :/

Yeah! I remember playing Pebble Beach Golf, Mario Golf, Cyber Tiger, and Hot Shots as a kid. What I meant was that no one really tried to secure a deal with the PGA.

Seriously, if it wasn't for EA locking down licences for the NFL and FIFA they'd be totally fucked for their sports titles. Having one company be allowed to monopolise license branding for their games is some seriously questionable business practice by all parties concerned, there is simply no reason for allowing such things to happen.
That is, until you see what they did with NBA license compared with 2K in which case, EA deserve a non renewal.

EA has completely gone to shit with their sports games. Madden is and has been crap for a long time now, NHL was great back in 2008 but has been the same ever since, and the 'physics' system they implemented was shit and made the puck bounce in most weird of ways. They couldnt hack it in the MLB while the 2k/The show series absolutely demolished it and when it comes to golf Tiger Woods has been the same since I can remember, except some added golfers and courses. They need to get their shit together because the best sports games today are the 2k NBA series and The Show, both have nothing to do with EA.

The truly sad part is that you are writing the game off without ever touching it.
I think I am going to wait until I hear some hands on experiences before I judge the game.
Gameplay looked sharp, could careless about the visuals as they are more than good enough.
So glad to see NBA Live coming back.

It's really quite shocking the difference in graphical fidelity between these two titles.
NBA Live 14 is a next gen ONLY title, and it looks worse than a game that is cross generation.

Wow... damian lillard's neck looks like it's stretching out as his head moves.
The animations are really bad and although the faces look decent... the player bodies definitely look like last gen stuff.
Hopefully this game is fun... it's been off the shelf for too long and there needs to be some sports competition again in football, baseball, hockey, and basketball

The weird accelerated dunking animation in this trailer is the same as the one in NBA Live 10.
So I guess they are still largely using the same animation tech as Live 10.

if there is one good thing I can see about the graphics is that Live doesn't seem to have the dead eyes like in 2k14. (its most apparent in the Kobe on the bench part at 0:39)
Other than that, this game just looks bad. Still can't understand why they scrapped the Live 10 gameplay. it was pretty decent for what it was then and had potential to be better if they stuck with it and refined the shit out of it for the next 3 years

This game is a bad joke. Right now they are in a even worse position than before. They should cancel it again.
They use completely different, lower poly models, for players that are on the bench. Therefor in NBA 2K, bench Kobe looks a lot worse than on court Kobe. They've always done it this way. Players on the bench at least look human now.

Agreed. They've already sunk enough money in this. Release it, learn from it, and keep hard at work trying to challenge 2K... it'll only make it better for the consumers in the end.

lolololol! are you actually grouping MLB 2k and the show together? one is an absolute joke and the other is MLB the show.
MVP was the best baseball series on the market before 2k bought out the MLB license. i thought it was better than the show on ps2. the sad thing with 2k is that there WAS competition and their games never improved. just got worse and worse. at least with madden you can say well it sucks dick but what do you expect with no competition!
anyways, back to THIS trailer, lol the graphics look shitty. EA taking a lot of hits lately for this shitty looking next gen efforts. interested to see what both this AND 2k look like with people actually playing and not cinematic trailers.
