Seems like Teague to Minnesota is a done deal.

Teague to Minnesota all depends on the deal that get struck. He does, at the very least, provide more shooting. Rubio's contract had him for around $15 million. If they only get barely less than that, then they better have other free agent targets for whom the extra million or so matters for.

No way would I go after Teague over Lowry or Hill if I'm Minnesota. Teague is a weaker defender and shooter.

He's worse as a player though

As a defender, as a passer, period

Shit I'd rather give Tyus the keys and see what happens. He can shoot well.

Hill or Holiday were the best PGs for us, they can shoot and defend and aren't bad. Would allow for us to get a bench too

Fuck I just realized I want Neon Dion on the Wolves

I guess if the Spurs are willing to pay Ight 20m per then good luck Ight. You will be missed for sure.

Reports seem to be saying Iggy isn't meeting with the Warriors because both sides have a really good feel for what the other is looking for, what the numbers would be, etc. Now Iggy just needs to feel out the numbers from the other teams.

Fuck yes this would be a great get. We need depth at the wing position, another player with that bulldog type mentality that left with Beverley, he can shoot the 3 decently well, is great defensively, etc.

MONEY. CAP SPACE. OTHER FREE AGENTS.

Iirc Hill is going for some pretty high numbers this off-season, given that he declined the extension offered to him by the Jazz

Doesn't Minnesota have a good chunk of change after dumping Rubio? I'm pretty sure they had 10+ million of space even prior to doing that. They should spend all their space on a really good point guard. Teague as your starting point guard just isn't good enough on either end of the floor to compete for titles.

Look at the minutes played by the Wolves' starters. And at their bench. The Timberwolves' were incredibly bad in the 3rd quarter and when it came to closing games.

It's not unreasonable to try and go for a decent point guard and use the extra money to fill out the rest of the roster

Man, that's basically criminal to the Wolves young guys.

Wolves simply couldn't go into the shooting with their 1-3 all being well below-average shooters. It couldn't work. I think Teague makes some sense there, but I'm also a bigger fan of Teague than most, I gather.

Makes sense regarding Wall. It's consistent with what we heard before - he wants the Wizards FO to be smart and wants to see what they are going to do and plan to do for the future.

If I'm that FO, I think I try and see if Porter will take a cheaper deal, if not, I seriously consider what I can get for a sign-and-trade, perhaps banking on Oubre's development and using the sign-and-trade to get an actual bench together.

Ain't worried bout that, but factually, laat year ain't have much choice.

Also can I mention, wiggins has played for 3 coaches in 3 years and this will be his forst season with the same coach. I foresee growth. And he's finally playing the 2 so I'm excited

Even with Chicago at one point having a bench mob, yeah.

Thibs has a problem, and it's a legit problem. At least Butler can handle the minutes and close games now.

I don't know how much longer the Rockets can have Ariza play so many minutes either.

Remember in 2014, when our plan was to get Bosh and then sign Parsons, and we ended up having Bosh do everything but sign the contract itself, and then Bosh and Parsons both got stolen and Ariza was the consolation prize?

Morey dodged so many fucking bullets there.

Orlando is not a well run organization.

They're under new management (btw, the Isaac pick from the GM who drafted for the Bucks these last few years fits perfectly)

I mean, if Bosh and Parsons stayed healthy, and Bosh had inked the deal, allowing Morey to then match Parsons' contract, then the 2015 Rockets would've been legit contenders. Bosh was great those post-LeBron Heat seasons when he was playing.

Then...

Orlando might offer Ingles $15 million.

My god.

The Orlando Magic salaries btw - http://hoopshype.com/salaries/orlando_magic/

I mean, Biyombo is the only really bad contract there, but you can't just fill your team with justifiable contracts, you need steals. Orlando has a bunch of decent players and 0 star power. They already have a surprisingly small amount of cap space for a team in their position, they should just sit tight for this entire free agency barring some incredibly minor acquisitions...

In no particular order I thought of 14 point guards that are better than Teague right now. And that doesn't even include the idea that Fultz and Ball might be better than him as rookies as well.

Teague isn't decent, he's a below average NBA point guard. And choosing to get a legitimately worse point guard to add to the bench is foolish. You can always find ways in the future to improve the bench. Once Wiggins signs his extension next year, getting a really good point guard will be impossible.

wasn't ginobili making around 15 mill this last year?

Yeah, after they got the rest of their business settled, and on top of that, it was only for a single year.

Whether or not that was just an aberration or not is to be seen, but if it ends up being that it wasn't, my god will this look like a terrible mistake, especially with how good Wiggins and KAT were looking with Rubio dishing to them.

Idk what to expect with the Kings, they've come up for almost FA I've seen

I'm pretty interested in what Millsap is going to do. I see no real reason for him to do the Hawks a favor and try a sign and trade. I don't see him staying here either since we're a fringe playoff team with him and have 0 cap space.

Yes they can.

Without making any other moves it takes up basically the entire cap. This team sucks, they aren't going to break the bank to move the needle from 30 wins to 35 wins. Its a rebuilding year, everyone knows it.

Signing Ingles for 4 / 60 makes no fucking sense unless Gordon Hayward is also walking through that door.

Lowry, Holiday, and Hill are the only ones available. Lowry and Holiday are going to sign with their incumbent teams for a lot of money if the incumbent teams are willing to do it (for the Pelicans, it's basically all-in at this point). Hill is a toss-up, but was injured for a LOT of last season, and if they want to spend more money on a power forward or bench, it can work out.

I'm gonna have to wait for more news and moves before I freak out about a Teague signing
