Mig and Matrix are in Houston, right? DM, who's your team(s)?Fifty said:The unholy union of Mig, DM and Matrix has begun.

(Maybe we need to have a team allegance post/thread for the NBA thread noobs.)
AirBrian said:Thanks DM.
And just for the record:
East: Bulls
West: Mavs
If the Bulls and Mavs met in the Finals, Bulls all the way.

The fact that you felt it was necessary to clarify your statement made me laugh out loud at my desk. Now people are looking at me funny.Fifty said:They're going to amazing to watch this year. (The rockets, not those three)
Ugh. Krause was always incompetant during the Jordan years, but after he left, Krause took it too a whole new level. I understand that some of the trades/releases/signings made sense at the time, but damn, the Bulls should not have been this bad for this long. I'm so glad to see Krause gone!DMczaf said:Good thing we wont have to worry about our favorite east and west teams meeting up in the Finals for a long time.... hehe

Shaq Watch
Hilarity ensued: During a team-by-team roll call at yesterday's union meeting, O'Neal apparently raised his hand -- twice. For the Kings and Mavs. (The Lakers? Uh, hand was kept down.)
Bowser said:Wow, DM...saying Shaq rocks.
Whoda thunk it?

I'm not sure if anyone else cheers for the Raps. I don't think any of the regulars do.

Ugh, this along with Jordan in a Wizards jersey (although at least Jordan was still averaging 20+ pts a game at the end of his career... ) should be banned!
Matrix said:Nah,he did good for them and he flipped Shaq over his head in a houston uni...respect the houston Chuckster.
Fifty said:Hakeem in Toronto was a bust of epic proportions.
Prior to the 2001-2002 season, Houston re-signed Hakeem Olajuwon to a 3 year, $16.7 million contract then traded him to Toronto for a 1st round draft pick and a 2nd round draft pick in 2002. On November 9, 2002 when the Raptors visted the Houston Rockets, Olajuwon retired from the NBA after 19 seasons.

(sorry to bring baseball talk into an NBA thread... just though it was appropriate given the Olajuwon talk)
Btw, go Rockets!!
I also live in Houston, so a nice GAF shoutout to my fellow Houstonians.

As for the Magic.....they just suck at life.
DMczaf said:Orlando Sentinel: Jack "Goose" Givens, a first-round draft choice by the Hawks in 1978 and currently a popular Orlando Magic television commentator was arrested late Monday on charges of sexual battery and lewd molestation of a 14-year-old girl, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.
Joel Glass, director of media relations for the Magic, would not comment on the arrest, saying "We reserve comment until we know more specific details."
Givens, 47, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Monday, said Cpl. Carlos Torres, a sheriff's spokesman. Givens is expected to go before a judge this morning for his first court appearance. He was being held on $25,000 bail.
The Sheriff's Office released few details about the incident late Monday but has scheduled a news conference for 11 a.m. today.
Torres said the girl reported that Givens assaulted her several times June 18 at her home. She contacted the Sheriff's Office on June 23 to report the incident.
"Givens came to the victim's home to assist her with her basketball game. The alleged assault(s) occurred after the basketball lesson," Torres said in a written statement. Read Article
