Semi off topic, but damn, the And 1 Mix Tour is fucking awesome. Those guys have more talent than I ever saw in the Grizzlies.

I hope to god the Raptors management isn't really gonna trade their franchise (hell, i don't care for VC much, but you can't deny the TO fans love his ass) for a 30 year old 7 footer who had career (probably cause he was looking for a contract) year last year. in that article about the heat being ripped off...just remember he put those #s up in the east and while the balance of power might be shifting the majority of quality big men are in the west and im not knocking odom's great #s but he did put it up in the east.

Kobe to the Clippers HAS to happen. We could see him take on the biggest possible challenge while still have a good shot at a championship down the road if he can turn them around. He's frieds with Maggette and Dunleavy and he wouldn't leave any of his LA fans. Plus, everyone is completely sick of the Lakers at this point.

There's an ESPN Insider article about the Vince issue that's more on-point. It proposes a deal with the Sonics involving Vince, Lamond Murray, and Jerome Moiso for Ray Allen, Vladimir Radmanovic, and Jerome James. I think that's an even trade just considering the players' on-court value. Ray can score, Radmanovic has gotten better every year, and while James is a slug he's still better than Moiso at this point in his career. Seattle, on the other hand, would see ticket sales balloon thanks to Vince, who is still an impact player and gives them scoring as well as assists and boards. Lamond Murray should be back to his old self (~15 points, 5 boards a game) with a change of scenery. Moiso's basketball IQ is nil, but you can't deny his athletic prowess - the potential is there for him to become a 10 and 10 player, which James will probably never be.
Business wise, you can't replace Vince, he's just too marketable. If a trade was to happen, though, this one sounds plausible and I wouldn't mind it so much. Still, I'd hate to lose Vince because of management's incompetence.

Yeah, a trade like that makes more sense. I reckon if VC gets flipped for anyone, Allen will come back the other way. The Raps will want a top 15 scorer in exchange. I do not want to see VC go though, particularly with the way the team is going to be built and coached the next couple years (constantly running the floor, which perfectly suits Vince's game).

Please don't quote a New York paper...they're the kings of bullshit. Just last week one of the NY papers said Vince would love to be reunited with Lenny Wilkens in New York, with the Raps trying to pry Stephon Marbury. This despite them agreeing to terms with Rafer Alston mere hours later. Not to mention the fact that Vince tore a strip off Lenny's ass after the Raps fired him 15 months ago.
Funny thing is that their version of the trade (which was the first I heard) has the Raps getting Shandon Anderson, which is even more laughable. If the Raps aren't going to get two very good starters or one all star in return, they're not going to trade Vince.
Some of the stuff I'm reading the last couple days is just laughable. People buying Jerry Buss's statement that Kobe had nothing to do with Phil and Shaq being gone is fucking laughable. WTF do you expect the owner of the team to say? "Yeah, Kobe has my nuts in such a vise, that I had no choice but to bow down and fulfill his requests. And the funny thing is, he's only a free agent!!" No shit he's gonna make out like Kobe had nothing to do with it. But the writing for this has been on the wall for a while now, and anyone who denies the facts has their head up their ass.
And that other shit about Odom's numbers being comparable to Shaq's? Or Brian Grant being some sort of ultra effective front court man?
Gimme a fucking break. The same dumb fucks went on and on about how the east was a varsity league compared to the west just three months ago, and now that they see the Lakers getting blown the fuck up (after getting smacked the fuck up by one of those varsity teams), suddenly all the stats that were acheived in the east by those pea-sized big men are somehow equatable to western conference stats. Talk about the ultimate spin. TD and KG are licking their chops right now.
