I think Kobe will stay. The Clips raising the offer just means Kobe will be able to say "The money doesn't matter to me. I just love playing basketball, particularly for the Lakers." And that's how we'll know.

The Lakers can offer $130 million, so he can't say it wasn't about the money if he stays he can only say that if he leaves. Whiche he will most definitely not do!!!

Its going to be fun seeing Konex and Laker fans this year with Laker fans knowing Konex did not want Kobe to stay with the Lakers :)

That's the reason he should have joined. Raising them from the ashed would have done a lot for his legacy. Plus, they underachieved wtih their talent last year, so the expectations would be so low for him. Just making the playoffs with the Clippers would be considered an achievementt; with the Lakers (despite have far less talent) it is a dissapointment.

He wouldn't have raised them from the ashes. That franchise is shit. IT always will be. Sterling didn't want to bring Kobe in to win champinships. That was secondary. He wanted Kobe because Kobe is box office. As good as Elton Brand is, he's boring. Nobody knows who he is. Kobe will put asses in seats, and asses in seats=more $$$ for Donald T. Sterling. If Kobe had signed, there's no doubt in my mind Sterling would view Brand and Maggette as "expendable" in a couple of years.

Well, that's true. If I was Kobe, though, any Clippers contract would include a player opt out every year to keep Sterling honest, knowing he risks losing his best (and most marketable) player.

Unlike Konex, I am much more reasonable in who I blame when my team losses. I always blame Jordan. In fact I blame him for all of my problems. Why just today a bird shat on my windshield and I am convinced he was behind it.

Holy shit! Divac might come back to LA? Woot, that changes everything!!!! Divac at center, Grant + Odom + Malone (hopefully) at PF, George and Butler at SF, Kobe and Rush at SGand a hall of fame coach. We just need a PG and some luck and we can contend IF that is true,

i don't mind the idea of Vlade coming back, but not for the full MLE (as many rumors have reported). Can't spend our only FA lure on a guy that can only play 20-25 minutes a game. But if the Marlboro Man wants to come in for $1million thats fine.
