Philly wont trade one of their bigs until they see Embiid on the court. Embiid told his trainer he's doing 2 on 2's and there's a little bit of hype brewing within the organization about Embiid. Ive already said this a lot, but if Healthy, Embiid is gonna dominate. He has grown 2 inches since his season at Kansas, and the dude is built right now
But there's a big "if" in the room with Embiid and that's his health. It will also most assuredly take him a while to get ready, he hasn't played a meaningful game of Basketball in 2 years.
Okafor has a lot of haters and a lot of lovers in Philly. There's no denying it, Okafor is the best low post scoring prospect in a very long time. His offensive game showed immediately in his first game, as he was doubled immediately upon entering the league. A lot of of people dislike him due to his lack of defensive ability. I think his defensive inefficiencies are worrrisome, but I think many people dont value his offensive impact on a game enough. Jahlil showed a good passing touch at Duke that he didn't show in the pros, and this could be because he doesn't trust his teammates with the ball (and for good reason) or due to offensive design issues, or maybe he regressed. The Sixers lacked all season a single guy who could shoot the 3 consistently. Isaah Canaan was the only person, and he's a 6'2" shooting guard who is probably worse then Nik Stauskas on defense (somehow)
This is why Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram are so huge for the Sixers, as both fill an immediate hole. Ben Simmons would most likely get pushed at PG, or at least tried there, kind of like the Greek Freak. Brandon Ingram would most likely provide that outside scorer we desperately need. Im generally against Buddy Hield, but if the sixers drop to 3/4 I wouldnt be surprised if they drafted him, although he hasn't done anything to cement his draft status ahead of Jamal Murray.
We also have a brand new regime in charge. I also wouldnt be surprised if we traded picks for players if we fall out from the top 2.
