Huh. It seems she changed her tune really quick... But, I know I remember her saying that she wouldn't sing for a gay audience or something... Maybe I misheard.

Well, when I Google'd "Frenchie Davis Anti-gay", the top result was this YouTube video of her speaking at a gay pride rally...

That was Mandisa, not Frenchie. Frenchie LOVES the gays.
 
I am trying to like this show since I have watched Idol for so long.....but so far the actual singing has left me underwhelmed and they spend WAY to much time on the judges. Its as much about them as the contestants.

The judges are more inanely positive on mediocre vocals than the AI judges.


....will keep watching to see whether it improves though.
 
I thought the battle rounds were no good, but this last solo singing round was awesome! I loved everyone, I wish half of them didn't have to go home.

If you don't like it, you don't like it. No harm in that. I enjoy it a heck of a lot more than the last few seasons of Idol, though.

Oh nothing could be worse than AI season 9. That was a joke.

However...other than the Voices very nice format I think the singing has been sub par which is covered up by the judges massively over positive comments.




Then again it only takes one amazing singer to make the show....like Haley Reinhart did for AI this season (in my mind). STill waiting for that one contestant to just grab me.
 
Dia nailed it! What an awesome rendition and she's cute/pretty to boot. ;) And the live performances with the coaches were awesome. Such a great show.
 
Still not very impressed by the talent here. Only time I've been wow'd was the Nikki/Vicci battle. Xenia has a beautiful voice, but needs the right song. Dia was good, but that version of heartless is kind of played out by now.

That said, Xenia, Dia, and Frenchie's studio versions sound great.

I think I read somewhere that all of these people were invited to be on the show, so they had to have had some notoriety already.
 
Frenchie mentioned that some of them already have recorded albums. It's not trying to do the amateur- to - fame narrative that Idol does (even though there have been similar Idol contestants).

EDIT: Well, Frenchie was great too. All's not lost. I'll miss Lily though.
 
Not sure Cee-Lo did the twins a favor by giving them that song. The performance was fine, but I can't see it racking up the downloads on iTunes (is one d/l = 1 vote, or is it weighted...anyone know?).
 
Wow, it's quite obvious now Team Adam nor Team Cee-Lo will be able to match Team Christina or Blake. Disappointing. Only Vicci and Casey have been good thus far.

EDIT: Okay, maybe Cee-Lo surprised me there with Nakia there. That was nice. Still, we'll see if the rest of the night improves.

Ultimately though, their teams don't have to win ... they need to have the single best performer.

I do like her, and think she does some really cool interpretations of stuff ... but I'm not quite into her timbre.
 
Wow, I feel sorry for anyone who missed that. By far, the best team performance I've seen thus far. Casey and Javier really stuck out, and, of course, Adam helped out a lot. So glad I have a recording of this. Anybody know if the cover will be up on iTunes?
 
Javier really should take Adam's advice and show some more restraint.




Regardless, this is obviously his competition to lose.

The show improved considerably over the last hour. Team Adam actually has some talent, Cee-Lo's still needs some work. I was wholly impressed by Vicci Martinez, Casey Weston, and Javier Colon. Nakia was fairly good, and Jeff Jenkins would be the only other one worth mentioning. Cee-Lo's team performance was fun and entertaining, but Adam's team really stole the show tonight.

I still think Dia Frampton is the best of the bunch, but Javier and Vicci are climbing up right on her heels.
 
Honestly it's a win-win whether he saves either Xenia or Patrick.

EDIT: Wow, surprising. I'm amazed. Didn't think he would pick Xenia with a helluva good country singer standing right next to her, but she totally deserves it.
 
Xenia?! I'm glad, but shocked!

Neither girl really shows the needed reality show contestant enthusiasm.

So half the top 8 are female. It's like anti-idol.

iTunes brings tremendous influence to the decision process when the show is this young. You have to look at the star talent and what's selling. I believe he said this too. I'm just happy there's a ton of females going into the final eight. It's a change from "White Man with Guitar" Idol.

Hopefully Idol will adopt some the voting methods for next season. I like the iTunes sale = vote, as well as the limit of ten votes per method.
 
Vicki Martinez was the best tonight...although I'm still on team Casey. So hopefully Casey has won over Adam cuz Javier is gonna get the fan vote. Shouldn't be too tough because the Pre-Med student on Team Adam STILL SUCKS(dunno how he got this far)...and the other guy(who I think is on Team Adam) who sung the Carrie Underwood song isn't remarkable in the slightest(I wouldn't buy an album by him).

Congrats to Xenia. I love her voice but she doesn't have much range.

I also picked the 2 Fan Vote Winners this week. Beverly and Dia...was pretty obvious they were the best of their teams.
 
Dia ownage! She's amazing. Blake could have shown a bit more support for her though. I know he had to make a tough decision, but Christina did too, and she still gave Beverly her props.

I'm happy Bev and Frenchie made it through too. I'm still on the fence about Xenia, she's very talented, but she really needs to find her footing.

I'm not really sure how I feel about Adam's team. (Which is sad, since Adam is my favorite coach.) I don't feel very strongly about any of his singers. They're all good, but I'm not really on board with any of them. (Yet.) I know the obvious fan favorite is Javier, but I just don't find him interesting at all. He's really good, (though he over sings a bit too much) but I don't get excited when he sings. :/

As for Team Cee Lo, it's Vicci and Nakia all the way.
