OK, so results are done. This was my first time and the data is obviously different, so it will be a little more stripped down and some lessons were learned (by myself). I hope it's good enough for your folks. The affinity data etc. had to all be dropped but I'll have a think about that for next year.

Reserved for lessons learned feedback

1. Publish list beforehand
2. Cross genres caused some issues at the end (e.g. Rime being adventure/puzzle)
3. Get someone to do graphics - took time!
4. Make sure another mod is available to correct errors (again)

Yeah, it also did the same with Injustice 2, oh well. Fixed. I did have the PC list, just must have skipped it by accident. I'll add it later as out atm. Here are the standings though

It’s too bad Prey didn’t make the shortlist. It’s a really special game.

Nier being so high is a pleasant surprise to me! It was my number 1 this year.

I think thats a good looking list personally.

Owning an Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and nice PC so I am not hating on any system but the Xbox top 3 are all on PC as well, just sayin :)

Yeah not really a good year for Microsoft for exclusives. Hopefully they have a much better 2018.

I voted Mario no.1 but happy to see Zelda take it, truly a legendary game.

Btw I wrote "dynamite dux cameo" as one of my reasons to love sonic mania so if anyone isn't clear why those words are floating around in the typography art, now you know

Never was much of a Zelda fan so I was "whatever" about BotW most of 2017... until I finally tried it in December last year. Yeah, that game deserves the top spot.

overall a meh list, well deserved and an obvious number 1
number 2, the Far Cry clone should have been a bit lower, RE7 and Yakuza 0 should have been much higher
the game with a great soundtrack and an awful everything should not even be in the top 10
walking simulator is right where it belongs
a remastered should not be allowed in there
the most depressing and boring game of all time should be number -20
a port of an overrated game should not be allowed in there

Agreed, 2017 was a phenomenal year for us gamers and if 2018 can keep up the momentum we have a hell of a year ahead!

I really should play Yakuza 0, Nier Automata and Horizon Zero Dawn. Given my policy on DLC (don't buy it) I am always a little behind. I am currently working my way through The Witcher 3 (amazing!) and since Horizon ZD has a complete edition, I will probably go with that next. However, I think Witcher 3 is going to take me a long time to finish, so much to do. Currently laying the smack down on some fools in Gwent.

Yakuza 0 is on my next to play list. I'm glad Origins got some recognition, that game is a gem regardless of the stigma over the past games in the franchise. I am yet to finish Breath of the Wild. Again, great job here.
