Is there some law in Europe that would dictate a 2 year warranty as opposed to 90 days in the US? Is the EU version better built or something, hehe.

More or less - EU Directive 99/44/EC mandates a 2 year period in which the consumer can seek recourse for product issues with the manufacturer. This isn't necessarily a decree on warranty terms per se, but the practical side of it is basically it has made just about all products sold in EU have at least a 2 year warranty.

3 years in Sweden ;)

edit: Well it's not technically a warranty, since you (the consumer) have to prove that the cause of the product failure is something that has been there since the beginning and not just normal wear and tear, as opposed to a warranty where they just fix it no questions asked. But in practice most manufacturers just fix your product anyway, so it works like a 3 year warranty. For example, my DS broke after more than 2 years and I got it fixed for free.

Just as I has about to order a HORI Real Arcade Pro Stick 3 I saw that there's two versions:
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zl-49-en-70-2xsu.html
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zl-49-en-15-hori arcade-70-1rrr.html

I have an US PS3, does it even matter which one I pick?
It does not matter, one is the US allocation and one is the Japanese one. They both work on US PS3.

I am new to the whole modding thing, but is it possible to mod my HRAP3 with HAPP buttons or do I have to use Sawna/Seimitsu buttons?
the 30mm holes in the top plate are a little too wide in diameter for American parts.

Is there any way to get a Mayflash stick to work with PS2 games on a PS3? I know i can mod it and I am going to eventually, but $$ is a little sparse right now, which is why i bought the stick in the first place.

My order from Lizard Lick just came in last night :D My TE stick will be exactly how I want it:

LS-32-01, button plugs, bat top.

If anyone is interested in the JLF that I'm taking out of my TE, let me know.

Life just kicked me in the balls.

I got my HRAP EX from the customs today, hurried to the gym to do my workout and drove like a motherfucker back home.

I plug in the shiny new HRAP and turn on my J-360.

crawling pixels all over the screen, 2 minutes and RROD.

WHY NOW?! WHY GOD WHY

Sorry to hear about that man. It always happens at the most inopportune moments :(

Plug the new stick into your computer and play some 2DF to take your mind off it.
Try the towel trick until the coffin arrives.

I toweled the system to get it working for the rest of the evening.

The problem is: it's an NTSC-J 360 and I live in Finland. How am I going to get Microsoft to fix it? It's a 2006 november core model so I knew it's going to die someday, but I never thought my cunning plan all the way through WHEN it dies....

God fucking damnit Microsoft and your shitty hardware! ;__;

This has to be life's irony; I wait for 4 months for my order and the 360 dies the day I get the stick.

OUCH

My sympathies, my friend's 360 RROD'd on Christmas morning. :lol

That really sucks.

And that's why I'm glad the PS3 version of SFIV is being used at tourneys like EVO.

how close are seimitsu buttons in feel to sanwas? i'm about to buy a hrap ex, and i'm thinking of putting in translucent seimitsu buttons, but i really like the feel of the sanwas on my hrap 3

They're dissimilar. Sanwa buttons activate very easily. On the other hand you can actually rest your hand lightly on Seimitsu buttons without activating them.

My HRAP3 just shipped with Amazon Prime.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let DDP, Ketsui and Death Smiles come out here. PLEASE?!
HRAP3 is not compatible with Xbox 360 unless you put a 360 PCB in there.

The seimitsus are very good too, but they do require a little more pressure to activate. I have both sanwas and seimitsus on my arcade cabinet and I'd recommend both.

That's a very very old prototype of the TE.

The button layout is different ;)

And the pic was from Seth @ Capcom-Unity!

question
Will VSHG play games like SF4 just as well as the Capcom stick? Or is there something different with the Capcom one that is more suitable for SF4?

I currently have 2 VSHG

As far as I know you're fine.

Amazon finally delivers!

Switched out the buttons for something more classy. Of note, the new HRAP EX for north america has the new button layout...better for me since I use my sticks mostly for shmups.

So should I just order the HRAP3 that's on Amazon for my PS3?

Most everyone likes it?

Also, I can't seem to find the length of its USB cable.

Yeah, get one if you don't want the SF-branded TE...they are inexpensive and you can always switch out buttons and it will still cost less than the SF IV tourney.

Cord is three meters (nine-ish feet)

how hard was the mod??

Clicky. It's a Sanwa.

Yes Boss! Very nice HRAP EX.

Yes, turned out nice! I actually took inspiration from seeing your EX a few months back.

I've also got the HRAP EX SE arriving in a week or two...that will be my first time with Seimitsus and if I like them I'll convert my Death Smiles stick to those buttons.

These HRAPs are nice but I'm really dying to get my hands on the SFIV TE sticks.

Mod is easy. Just need a 7mm nut screwdriver, flat-head and philips screwdrivers. The protective plastic on the mirror surface was a bit of a pain-in-the-ass though.

I feel you man.

The evening after I got my HRAP3SA my PS3 yellow lighted.......

Life's a shit sometimes.

So I was thinking about getting a stick for my 360 to play Ikaruga and I thought I could get a HFS EX2 and do my first mod at the same time.
It doesn't seem to be an easy job for a first timer tho, I already have this guide bookmarked:
http://streetfighterpro.com/?p=3
Anything else that could make my job easier or is there any other cheap stick that wouldn't involve soldering?

And is there a good guide for modding a HFS 3? I'll probably get it for £25 so I'll have a 2nd stick for SFIV.

Thanks in advance!

Hi All

I have a Street Fighter Anniversary Arcade Stick & some of the buttons have become stuck, is it easy for me to change my buttons? What buttons do should I order? Does it take Sanwa parts? I know it's not the best stick out there but it was doing the job until the buttons started to stick, I really hope I can change the buttons for it

Your help is urgently needed & appreciated, thanks in advance : )

Hey Mark, why weren't the end caps angled just like the Vewlix? Would that have cost more money to license or something?

dual modded hrap3 i did for Tha_Yizzah from srk.

IMG_0005.jpg

dark hai balltop with ls33 spring mod for higher tension and octagonal restrictor, first 6 buttons obsf-30 k/dh, last 2 seimitsu ps-14gn black buttons, start/select are sanwa obsf-24.

move switch left for 360 and right for ps3.

headset port on the left side for 360.

art was done by esker at srk.

i'm itching to dual a te stick now. :P

Akuma that stick looks awesome.

I like the idea of dualing a stick, is it pretty difficult to do? You have to get a 360 pcb and then wire it up correctly with the existing one right? Are there guides on how to do this?

I have a SE fightstick preordered and if I find I like using a stick I'll probably looks into modding so I can use it on the 360 as well.
