Akuma that stick looks awesome.

I like the idea of dualing a stick, is it pretty difficult to do? You have to get a 360 pcb and then wire it up correctly with the existing one right? Are there guides on how to do this?

I have a SE fightstick preordered and if I find I like using a stick I'll probably looks into modding so I can use it on the 360 as well.

i think ShinJN over at srk is working on a tutorial for dual modding a 360 TE stick. it should be fairly similar to the SE as far as the wiring. dunno if anybody is gonna be doing ps3 TE with 360 pcb though.

as far as tutorials, i've got a bunch in the works for dual modding hrap3's, hrap 1/2's, vshg's, sanwa swaps for ex2/t5, x-arcade happ mods, and other crap coming soon to www.iplaywinner.com. just been lazy and haunts hates me for it. :P

the father to all dual modding stick guides is the vshg one by kod over at vfdc http://virtuafighter.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/175874#Post175874 it's a good primer in understanding how to dual any common ground stick.

Awesome thanks, I'll definitely look into it.

Hi All

I have a Street Fighter Anniversary Arcade Stick & some of the buttons have become stuck, is it easy for me to change my buttons? What buttons do should I order? Does it take Sanwa parts? I know it's not the best stick out there but it was doing the job until the buttons started to stick, I really hope I can change the buttons for it

Your help is urgently needed & appreciated, thanks in advance : )

I'm a bit confused about the supply situation on these TE sticks - is MadCatz only producing enough to meet the orders already out there, or will I be able to score one in April when the other orders are filled?

It's not something I need; honestly this would work better for me as I don't think any games are coming out in April, where I'm buying three or four this month (SF4, KZ2, LocoRoco2 and DJ Max). I've toyed around with the idea of buying the normal FightStick but now I figure if I can get the TE I want it. But it'll be rough to get. >.<

Oh we care. God the 11th is so far away.

edit: Any chance on seeing those neogeo pocket versions? God that pad was so amazing, loved the feel. The prototypes for the pads make me drool.

That is the sound of pain!

Get a Neogeo Pad 2 and a PS2->3 converter and feel the win.

DO IT!!! I'm sure you've proven yourself enough. =P

I'm sure you get this a lot, but it's totally deserving. Good job man and hope to tell you in person next Thursday! :D

Mark, I second this. If you include the artwork...cord port and Sanwa or Seimitsu buttons...I'd be there...

I know I will love the TE (I only buy grey popoun sp) but after a few months of mucking around with Jap style sticks, I still prefer Happ 360 sticks. Probably since that's what I've used most of my life.

I third it. I'd definitely buy it. If it weren't for Madcatz making sticks this gen, I don't think I would have bought a stick for my 360. I tip my hat to you guys. :D

MarkMan,

I have to ask again--can you give us any idea of whether or not any big-box retailers will be stocking the TE sticks? I didn't get a chance to preorder and I'd like to have one on launch day, and I am not opposed to hunting one down...

I am pretty sure it uses Happ parts. Google Lizard Lick, they sell replacement buttons.

I'm sorry off hand, I don't know of any retailers carrying the stick at actual B&M stores.

The protective plastic on the mirror surface was a bit of a pain-in-the-ass though.

Tell me about it. I tried to peel it off last night, only leaving these blunts of plastic under the buttons and the metallic parts.

Any idea which stick is better for shooters? My HRAP EX is ONLY for shooters (I don't play fighters), so I want to mod it with Seimitsu.

The problem is, I learned to play shooters with a crappy Taito EGRET 2 cabinet back in Oita, I have no idea what kind of stick that cabinet had... I'd love to get the same stick. However, I'm quite sure the cabinet had a Seimitsu stick, since the stick was way shorter than the JLF in the HRAP EX.

Anyway, I'm leaning towards Seimitsu LS-56 stick and PS-14-K buttons. However, I'm not sure which one is better for shooters; seimitsu LS-56 or LS-32-01... any ideas?

It doesn't, it uses Chinese clone parts by Bao Lian. Unless you're talking about the super-limited full Happ special edition, but I've never seen one of those IRL and was only made aware of their existence a few weeks ago.

I'm sure this has been answered, but whats the official release date for the TE sticks? I have my amazon order set to overnight shipping and it's saying 2/24, kinda sucks.

I have a Fighting Stick 3 http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Fighting-Stick-3-Playstation/dp/B000MWE3BI/ref=pd_bbs_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1233810314&sr=8-3 lying around and wonder if it would be worth modding.

I've never done this before so I don't know if this would be a great stick to test out adding new parts or should I do it on an HRAP?

Also, if I go ahead and put some sanwa parts in it should I use 30 or 24mm buttons? Or is that just whatever the user prefers? Thanks in advance :)

There are several modding reference for HFS3 such as

http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=136372

or the Wii Hori Fighting stick which also has almost the same internal layout with HFS3
http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179535

For buttons most people recommend OBSF30 (30mm). But Seimitsu PS-15 (30mm) also might be a good choice. You'll also need to take out the tabs on the button hole. Tools will be required.

For the stick, Sanwa JLF is possible but you'll have to modify it so it can be mounted properly.
Personally, I'm going with Seimitsu LS-33 since I prefer more compact sticks and seimitsu's microswitch.

I'm using that guide on the neo-geo forums right now as a rough guideline for modding a Wii Fighting stick right now, myself. I'm going to put a Seimitsu stick and Sanwa buttons in it. Here's where I am so far, in the midst of desoldering the buttons on the PCB.

Quick question, Im having a friend of mine mod my Hori Fighting Stick 3 (PS3) I found the Sanwa stick that I know will fit fine, he Sanwa JLF-TP-8T but on LizardLick its sold out at the moment.

Over at Akihabara shop I found this one, the Sanwa

JLF-TP-8Y will it work the same as far as installation? I know its only a one letter difference, but I wanna make sure :P

I hope you have a rotary tool...

I don't think the 8Y has the metal plate

AFAIK the only difference is the position of the connector. Probably need to swap the joystick connection too (right>up . up>left . left>down . down>right)?
It still have the metal plate option (JLF-TP-8YT).

What stick you're using? I'm also going to mod my HFS3 with seimitsu (ls-33). Still waiting for parts from akihabarashop though...
And yeah, you'll need rotary tool to take out the tabs on the button hole & make it bigger a little.

WTF, I checked my order history in Capcom's store just to see if the status has been updated (like I've been doing every day), and all of my orders have doubled.

ups83.jpg

The duplicates have the same order number as the original, so I'm not really worried about them charging me twice...but it freaked me out since I'm nervous about getting my TE anyway. =/

Maybe they aren't going to charge you in full until the item ships? They probably just wanted to check your card. I'm not really sure =/

Naw, they pinged my card to make sure the full amount was available back when I placed my order. This looks like a system error on their part, and it's never shown up like that before.

It could be. I would contact them just to make sure.

Can anyone send me a link to purchase sanwa buttons for an hrap3 stick? And if I changed the buttons to sanwa, it's basically like the TE stick as far as quality stick and buttons, right? Just not the extra features such as compartment for the cords. Thanks for your help in advance :D

Yes Boss!, _dementia and MM can you guys post pics of your stick collection? i gotta see how you store your gear. i'm having trouble finding space, lol

Check lizardlick.com for OBSF-30 pushbuttons

other than cord storage, you're missing the Seimitsu stick-compatible mounting plate of the TE as well as the left analog switch (I think HRAP3 only does D-Pad and right analog?)

So, now that I'm sure I can afford one on release, what are the odds of me finding a 360 TE stick?
0...Ebay is probably going to be your only option right now. I believe these aren't going to be sold in stores besides Gamestops which already have taken more than enough preorders. All online retailers that were holding these are sold out now. :(

@ MarkMan:

Do you have any idea if any sticks will ship to Sweden?

Pretty much all online retailers here has had preorders open for both the standard an TE-stick, but in my opinion it seems highly unlikely that we are to receive anything, since supplies seem so limited.

Would be nice to know if we are going to receive anything over here :)

Yay, my Mets, Knicks, Isles stick is complete. The blue buttons are much darker in real life, I don't know why in the pic they came out so light.

Its an HRAP EX, with just the main 8 buttons swapped out for Sanwas. Start and select are still crappy, but really, who cares? :D

This is my first arcade stick since my NES Advantage back in the day. I've had it for a few days now, and I totally love it. I've been using it for SFHD2T and Ikaruga. The awesome thing is that it attaches to the computer, and I can use it for all my emulators!

Does the SE madcatz stick have the seimitsu stick capability? In anyones opinion, is it better to mod the SE SF4 stick or an hrap3?

I'd lean towards HRAP3, but that has nothing to do with the actual stick parts, just that I like the case of the HRAPs better, and that I don't really like the artwork on the SE FightSticks very much.

This is why I went with the HRAP EX.

Also, do you have a bigger version of your avatar?

Hey peeps. I just got one of the Xbox360 Hori Real Arcade Pro EX sticks too.

This is a crazy noobish question, but how do you get the protective film to come out from underneath the buttons and corner snaps?

Pulling off the film, it seems like they literally just slapped a solid sheet and then drilled straight through, leaving the edges all trapped underneath, and it won't break clean. Leaves little edges that I can't get out.

Like this:

Most of the tools I'd normally use for this kind of stuff would most likely scrape up the finish.

I tried opening up the back, but the corner snaps appear to just be straight up bolts.

I notice no one else's pics have this prob - so is there any advice to getting it off?

Thanks in advance for any help.
