Opening up the back, the first thing that I see is a completely sealed piece of plastic. It furthermore appears that it has been molded into the siding through spokes. There are the eight bolts that are visible on the top, but a) I don't have access to a vertical hex-wrench that can actually reach the nuts to undo them, and b) it seems to me that the spokes are sealed to the sides regardless?

Obviously it can be opened up, since some people have already replaced the buttons, but I really don't understand how they did so:

I'm still somewhat in shock that they did such a shoddy job with the protective coating....is this normal?
 
Wait, the TE sticks are being shipped now? So does that mean Gamestops will be getting them this week as well?
 
Damn it. I went to reserve the normal edition Fightstick today at gamestop and they told me they stopped taking reserves for them yesterday :lol

Anyone know if Gamestop stores will be getting extra SF4 FightSticks or just enough to fill orders?

Also, are they shipping on the 11th or 17th?

Just wanted to post that the Dragonplus PS2 to USB/PS3 converter arrived today. Tested my HRAP2:SA using the laginput software and showed to have no lag on my PC. Playstation3 recognized the stick as well.

So just a heads up for those looking for adapters

That's actually how I did it (but with not so thin pliers). It takes longer to open the case this way than it does to actually replace the buttons, though.

Stupid Gamestop told me I may not get mine until next week. Every day that goes by more and more fighters fall under the wrath of the d-pad.

edit: Do you know how many/when they are getting the TE stick markman? The preorders for em seemed to be up way too long (best buy, that is)
 
Is anyone else planning on using a Ps2 Super Pro stick. Ive had mine now for 5years and still in pretty good shape works great with my ps3.

My question is has anyone ever tried to mod or change the face on a Super Pro stick. I am looking to give my stick an update and need some advice.

the brick and mortar store i preordered at said the date for release is no longer in the computer, so they'll probably receive it soon, but if they do it is street-dated for 02/10... i will flip shit if they try to make me wait until then and they have it early. :lol
 
One last question.....


I want to replace the buttons on my Mas stick with concave bottons. Are there any import stores in NY that have some in stock?
 
I don't know about the dongle pads, but regular first-party 360 and PS3 pads do not lag and this was confirmed using real objective tests by Toodles at SRK. Much to his surprise, I might add.
 
gamestop.com better not fuck me over side ways on the TE stick.

my shit says backordered but i pre-ordered that shit in december, so...

i dont want to settle with the Hori SFIV stick.
 
Damn. Kinda wishing I pre-ordered through Gamestop.com instead of Amazon. Are the TE sticks still going to ship around Feb 25 from Amazon?

on top of that, i got overnight shipping!

i still doubt i'm getting it this week, though.

Bah, I'm still at beholden to Amazon's ship dates. Hoping they ship sooner rather than later.

I do have a HRAP SF IV coming from play-asia so if anybody gets one of those then please post pics as mine won't probably get here till around Friday the 13th.

I thought same but then I realized how much I will save in tax (TE + CE).

May be MarkMan can tell us when Amazon is receiving its shipment. :)

Warehouses often do not confirm shipping until the night of shipping, which means it left earlier in the day. Have some faith.

I'm curious too, of course! I've got two coming from Amazon and to buy them at gamestop would have made a $300 purchase closer to $350.
 
So as a PC guy who doesn't necessarily play THAT much fighting games, is the HRAP 3 or even the SFIV Tourney stick overkill? I'm intrigues by the hyper sensitive sanwa buttons but know little about them. I'd probably be playing a mishmash of shmups, 2d fighters, classic arcade games via emulator, competition-grade tetris, etc.

I'm wondering if for my money I should just stick with a SFIV fightstick or something in that price range? I'm aiming for max durability with solid response and compatibility, etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.

So... Gamestop is shipping? Shouldn't this imply that I can go to my Gamestop in the next few days and be able to grab my pre-ordered TE stick? Hmm... wish I could call them, closed now :[

Oh yeah, saw that one as well. You scored as it looks really nice.

So many sticks this month and with the unexpected Death Smiles in april I just can't afford a VSHG right now. I'll try to pick find one over summer.

Can't believe I chose a HRAP3 over the VSHG two years ago.

I can empathize. A week after I imported my HRAP EX word got out they were coming stateside.

And then they improved the layout

Well, to be honest, you got to use your stick for a long time:D . Arcade Shock and Amazon just took forever to arrive.

The Amazon EX is still a nice deal so it might be nice to pick up another and put some neat buttons in it. I was buying a second to make it Seimitsu then the SE got announced so I ordered that instead.

I'm stocked about finally getting the EX as I've been using my Otomedius stick for all my games and I'd like to retire that one to the bookcase.
 
besides lizardlick.com, where can i get sanwa push buttons for hrap3?? lizardlick only has a few colors available and I was wondering if there were other places that had more of a variety

I had no idea you were playing with the Otomedius stick.

If I had one I'd build my own shrine dedicated it and never remove it from it's box.

One of these days all of us in this thread should post our sticks. I think I only have 8 or 9, so I'm probably on the low end in relation to how much time I spend here :lol
