Can't you just mod the less expensive stick, just like the TE edition? I thought I read that on Shoryuken. They said it would cost an additional $60 for Sanwa parts ontop of the $70 the stick will cost.

Any confirmation on this? I am sure Canada will at least get the lower tier stick, then we can just mod it.

Glad I pre-ordered a TE now that I see how moddable these are. I want to color me buttons and put in an octagonal plate!

Exactly what I plan to do, once Lizard Lick send me the invoice in the next few days I am going add a stack of spares to the order.

I don't think there have been any photos of the cheaper version's insides, but MarkMan did say that it is easy to mod.

Check out http://www.lizardlickamusements.com/pages/new_parts.shtml to get an idea about parts.

I think he means the button default config?

Hey Markman, what is the button config on the face buttons? Is it?:

X Y RB LT
A B LB RT

Maybe somebody can let us know? (Particular for people modding sticks to 6 buttons only, I want to know what SF4 uses by default).

Edit: I found it:

It's:

X Y RB LB
A B RT LT

Posted this in the other thread but...I just realized something with this button layout. We are not going to be able to use this stick for Street Fighter 3 Third Strike (BC on xboxlive) because the game does not allow edits to the RT and LT buttons in the game menu.

Or am I wrong? I hope I'm wrong......or I would be bummed......even though I bought my sticks specifically for SF4.

Markman.....you have had your sticks for a while...have you had a chance to play sf33rd strike with the sticks any probs?

I really really wish that I ordered well in time, 7th of January. I'm going to be crying if there won't be enough of regular sticks for me. :(

I'll be selling the PS3 TE version for retail plus shipping once I get it (got as a gift...would rather buy a finkle case and build the rest).

I ordered the PS3 one December 25th, then switched to the 360 one yesterday. I'm gonna be pissed if something goes wrong. :lol

Like I said, CES is still going on, and CES was the main "debut" of these sticks. It would be retarded if it was already too late before CES even ended.

For reference, in case anyone is wondering...

Exact Weight (weighed as precise as possible)...

Street Fighter IV FightStick: Tournament Edition
Boxed - 9.7 lbs
Stick Only - 6.5 lbs

Street Fighter IV FightStick
Boxed - 5.5 lbs
Stick Only - 4.25 lbs

In case anyone was wondering. Virtua Stick High Grade (PS3) is 6.5 lbs.

I'll answer the other questions later...

Back to work!

Can I have mine with a an autographed picture of you as my case design?

If I can't be assured of getting one (either from my local GS or Amazon), I think I'll be taking you up on that.

Was about to preorder the stick at gamestop and realized I got some bills needing to be paid. Now I do get paid on thursday, but im pretty sure these wont be on preorder by then anymore

You usually do not get charged until it ships

Okay, so I'm looking at getting a fighting stick. I want to get the Hori made 360 stick or the regular SFIV stick for 360. Any ideas on which one would be better? What do you recommend?

All these videos make me want a TE stick but I just got a brand new HRAP2 :(
Too bad my barnes order got cancelled. I don't really mind though since I don't have a 360 anyway :lol

What a strange world we live in. Who would have thought that we would ever be drooling over a SF game made by DIMPS and arcade sticks made by MADCATZ. :lol

So you basically have to take off the joystick and pop the buttons out and then you can slide new artwork under the protective plastic?

You wouldn't have to remove the whole joystick, just the balltop.

For those interested in the SF4 products...

Here are some links from since CES started...

Is it just me or is it normal that my TE stick order is not showing up under "My Account" on the gamestop site? I have a confirmation receipt with order number but still no email or no information on my account page.

Perfect. I ordered another 8-way gate and bat top w/ adapter on that assumption. :lol

Thanks home slice.

BTW, did Madcatz really have to call them "console skinz?" I understand why, but I just get reminded of...

:lol :lol :lol

I think Destructoid, Gamestop and Arstechnica had the best coverage of the arcade sticks. I have to say, it's a neat product...

So much so...it has me contemplating to buy one more for both 360 and PS3...do I hit preorder now...Man, Street Fighter IV is going to cost me $800.

Will MadCatz be providing templates to make your artwork? I know it isn't hard, but I'm just curious.
You've been masturbating too loudly to it, because the guy says that they are in the last few seconds of the video.

Some of my HRAPs...

HRAP3 with Seimitsu bubble top and Seimitsu PS14Ks.
!

Was digging through some ancient pages of this thread and came across this pic. This literally the exact same thing I'm doing with my HRAP3 :lol Violet bubble top with matching buttons, hole plugs on the right, solid black start/select buttons (and an octagonal gate on the inside :p )

I still don't get why every stick maker started putting on 8 buttons instead of six. Seems annoying more than useful. No game uses 8 primary buttons.

Some people prefer different button layouts, so it allows them to include more than one (inner six and outer six), for one.

It's a preference really. People will play with the inner six. Some others will play with the outer six.

Edit: Smoked!
