Man, all this heartache and trouble you guys are going through to get one of those Madcatz sticks - I am so glad I have no interest in them whatsoever. I'm perfectly happy with my litany of HRAP sticks. Also, I don't really like character or game art on my sticks - it's a bit distracting. I think Hori's stick art is stylish and non-descript.

That said, the more people getting any kind of arcade stick, the better - I look forward to kicking your asses in SFIV. >D

What's wrong in wanting things?

yeah. i got the confirmation like 15 minutes after i ordered it last night

In my opinion, you're fine. All that counts is the email.

Where did I say there was anything wrong with wanting anything? I was just commenting on the difficulty in procuring one of the Madcatz TE sticks.

Wanting things is awesome. I want lots of things.

When did you order?

I ordered last night when MarkMan first posted them. It got changed to "Order cancelled by System" did 2 more orders on another cards (Which had money in them) and woke up to the same thing this morning. I really hope MadCatz starts preorders soon.

To anyone who is getting a standard edition for SF IV stick. Which buttons are you going to replace the stock buttons with? Which are the best? Thanks

sanwa are pretty much considered the best. unless you prefer american style buttons. or want clear buttons you can mod with lights.

Sanwa is the most popular maker. Seimitsu is the second most popular, but it seems to be a matter of taste. I couldn't tell you the real difference between them.

Cali based retailer is taking pre-orders for the TE stick for the unfortunate few that haven't got their name in for one yet. Not sure how reputable they are though.
I know the owner there. They're pretty good plus they sometimes get their stock in earlier than retail, especially for Japanese releases.

I called them. He was pretty honest about not knowing how many they were getting, but yeah, I'm going to wait on a for sure opportunity.

If you live in the Pasadena, CA area, it would be of your best interest to actually go to the store and preorder with them in person.

yeah, i don't know what japanvideogames' connection with madcatz is like, but they're a really reliable importer, and afaik a bunch of other west coast import stores source their stuff there

Japan Video Games also has the Hori SFIV stick for preorder as well as has a limited stock of HRAP2 SA and HRAP2 Amazon edition. I almost clicked on the buy button...but seriously...I have enough joysticks.

I think the next stick I buy will be an AIB with Happ 360. I like the dual system use, craftsmanship and Happ stick. If I knew how to solder, wood crafstmanship and PCBs, I'd probably venture to create my own...

but life is too short...

Anyone who has more than one TE stick preordered (for security) want to sell an extra one? if so, email me @ chaoticprout@gmail.com. Thanks.

What system? I have two preordered for both systems. I preordered one for each system back in November. I preordered another pair from Videgamecentral. If they come through on the order, I'll consider it, as I have plenty of other joysticks. And I'm sure Markman will come through with a Tekken 6 stick later on anyway.

How hard will it be to change the buttons on the standard stick? Will you be able to change the joystick itself easily?

Finally got the sanwa buttons for my hrap, plus the awesome carbon fiber shaft cover dealio from bigpockets on the shoryuken forums. Also visible: my ugly-ass couch.

Xbox 360.

Sure. Not a problem. Again...if the stick ships from VGC, I wouldn't mind letting it go. I have an EX2, HRAP EX and a HRAP EX SE on the way (along with my original preorder from Amazon)...just pm me to remind when we get close to the date.

I played pretty extensively on the regular FightStick last night.. Im starting to really like it.. It's a whole hell of a lot better than it used to be and much more responsive than the hori ex 2s.

You really made my day there :). After the disappointing review on IGN I wasn't very confident on its quality, and I don't want to void its warranty by modding it so soon. I trust you guys much more than I trust IGN.

BTW, any clue about what was Markman talking about with this?

Markman said:
To be fair, most reviewers probably won't even know/touch on the *hidden* features of the standard fight stick. It's all good though ;)

Man, he loves to tease us, doesn't he? :P

thanks for the impressions. i just got my stuff from lizard lick last night (those guys are fast). can't wait.

I have no idea what hidden features he is talking about..

I played on a prototype FightStick a while back (3 months?) and felt the build quality was good but the actual stick would have to be replaced, but with this newer model, after spending more than just a couple matches on it (I had to test certain stuff for hours last night) and I'd say it's fine right out of the box.

Can someone link me to the IGN review? I saw the Kotaku one which was a joke. Those guys should just stop covering fighting games altogether. :(

The hidden feature is that each FightStick has a part of my love and devotion :)

Really it is about the interior. Something no reviewers are touching. I don't blame them though either. It's not like Mad Catz is pushing reviewers to open them up.

But some press did open them up, you know how that went.

Make sure you know what you're doing folks ! :lol

Safety first.

This has been your neighborhood friendly MarkMan.

Signing off!

IGN review didnt seem that bad? It's not as good as the TE, sure, thats to be expected. It's still a good stick, much better than any other stock stick out there under 100 bucks. I mean I did Balrogs c.lp x2, c.lk, ex dash upper, c.lp, c.lk, ex dash upper, c.lp, c.lk, buffalo headbutt into ultra on it last night on it if that's any indication. :lol

hmmm...I didn't know MadCatz put out a non TE edition stick. I'm sure it'll be fine for more casual fighting game fans. I'm gonna look into those...thanks!
