Yeah, I was surprised as how tough it is to get that plastic off. I still can't get them out from under the buttons. :lolCheech said:It's a pretty awesome piece. Yours looks like mine with the plastic wrap underneath the buttons, LOL. The Hori buttons are better then I'd expected.
So yeah, I already ordered a Sanwa stick on Sat. since I knew this would happen. This stick would be great if not for the crappy stock joystick.SE Stick: I pretty much knew mine would be fucked up, the washer error seems like a problem that many sticks would have if they were mass produced. Mine has it. I go from perfectly fine controls to non-stop jumping/crouching/or running. It seems to only affect the left side of the stick. It's definitely manageable and playable, for me at least. But it makes me want my Sanwa stick even more. The buttons feel great to me, not too stubborn to use but not overly sensitive. Turbo works fine as does the lock function. The artwork also looks great. If the joystick worked, then this stick would be easily worth the 70-80 bucks. And even with a fubar joystick, I still really like it, I can actually somewhat play with charge characters now. The move card was a nice touch too. If anyone has any questions about the SE stick just ask.

I'm pretty sure you can swap out the gate. I haven't opened mine up yet.HoTHiTTeR said:Do you know if I can adapt the octagonal gate to the stock SE stick?

And you gotta love that 90 day warranty. It's really hard to recommend the SE, even to modders.zewone said:Same thing happened to mine today.
I'd feel confident in saying that all SEs (w/ stock parts) will shit out.
The stick is great. Amazon fired mine out in under 24 hours after I canceled my SE order.zewone said:Got my HRAP EX today. <3 it.

Oh ok good, I am getting it this Thursday and was about to return it. So what will the announcement do for us though?MarkMan said:Guys I just wanted to update everyone that there will be an official announcement regarding anyone having issues with the standard edition FightSticks soon. We're not ignoring anyone.
I haven't been following the thread today, but I hope everyone is doing well. Street Fighter IV is here... so I hope everyone has a good time with the game.
thats good to hear, also do you have any word when Canada will receive the Fightpad and/or the Fightstick?MarkMan said:Guys I just wanted to update everyone that there will be an official announcement regarding anyone having issues with the standard edition FightSticks soon. Yes Boss, are you a joystick connoisseur?
I should have my EX SE in a few days.
There was a whole thread a few days ago about how holding the start button can act as the guide button. You can even turn on your 360 that way.jam86 said:Ok, i doubt anyone cares about my adventures with my SE stick. But basically started when i picked it up. Got home unpackaged it, real nice stuff, off the top one black button was kinda sticking out, popped that fucker in no big deal. As soon as i felt the stick, i felt an some stiffness on the sides, when i rotated the whole SE stick and felt the stick, i could feel that washer move with it. At this point I know the fix, fuck it I'll void my warranty. I decide to test all the buttons out first, all of them felt good and 5x better than the shitty hori buttons. But the guide button didn't work, it wasn't worth voiding my warranty when the guide button doesn't work. Almost voided the warranty, the warranty sticker started cracking cause i had it lifted but white out straightened that fucker out.
Called them up had 1 extra. I expected this to be a mess like the first one, all the buttons work (ALL OF THEM), the stick had no sticking issues. So far so good, I'm gonna open the case reguardless, to see if the washer is moving, but it does NOT feel like the first stick did where the issue was obvious. This one felt perfect but i'll find out once i open it and see if its moving. I'll post pics later on. At this moment grading the stick SE Stick = B+, HORI EX2 = C-, even with the sticking issue the first stick felt more solid than the HORI EX2 POS, buttons definately more precise.

Are you sure you didn't have the button lock switch set to the "on" position? I made that mistake when I first hooked it up - I thought it only affected the turbo switch, but it will disable the guide button too.jam86 said:Ok, i doubt anyone cares about my adventures with my SE stick. Haha I'm sorry, I'm just worried it's going to break and that I wasted $90(Ordered it from Barnes and Nobel).gkrykewy said:Please stop liveblogging this thread about your stupid SE stick :lol
Yes Boss! said:I guess the next thing to do is to build a custom Wii stick since that is my favorite system and I'm currently shoe-horning a HRAP2 SA for the system. I think I'll do that later this fall, perhaps ripping apart my cheapy Hori Wii Stick and putting the innards in a Norris case. Don't know if that is doable, but it seems feasible.
Yes, it uses a square gate. You'll need to order a octagon gate if that's what you're looking for.Akim said:Does the Xbox 360 Real Arcade Pro. EX use a square gate? I notice it has a Sanwa JLF stick, is it 8 way adjustable or do I have to order a different gate if I buy it?

Manabanana said:Came in yesterday. I'll have to wait 'til I get back to the states to mod it, since I don't have anywhere near me to make prints. I picked up the buttons on a trip to Tokyo, at some small shop in Akihabara. ¥310 per button, and no shipping. Not bad! I'm really happy with the stick as-is. It's bigger than I thought it'd be, which is good, and the Hori buttons are actually nice. They're a little slow and require more force than the seimitsu buttons, but they don't feel cheap. I've been playing some Super Turbo, DoDonPachi and Tetris. I'm gonna try out some Capcom vs. SNK in a bit.
