Yes Boss! said:Upgraded my DS stick. Like a moron I ordered 30mm black for the Start and Select. I must have gotten confused since I was also ordering 30mm Start and Select for my TE mod. Now I'm stuck with jank Hori buttons for the next few weeks. Also, gotta put a Seimitsu stick in there for completion.

You're going to have to do some soldering to fit the Seimitsu stick right?

that would be amazingdonkey show said::lol :lol :lol
On a serious note, I wonder if I can pull off something like this...

I don't think I've ever seen a steampunk arcade stick mod before. It'd be fun to try. =)

Hey MarkMan, my TE stops reading directional inputs and RT (Roundhouse) after extended play and I need to unplug and reconnect to get to work normally. Can that be fixed with a simple replacement part or will I have to send the whole stick back?MarkMan said:Call Mad Catz tech support. They'll take care of you. If you don't want to have your product sent out they can issue you a replacement part. Either way they will help you out.

Yes Boss! said:It is a good stick for what it is. It feels slightly different from the classic AES controller from my memory...just a wee bit lighter. There are a lot of reviews of the old PS2 version online but since that came out the landscape has changed considerably and you can get a Mad Catz SE and HRAP for just a bit more and have a ton more options for modification. It does hit the sweet spot for nostalgia, though.
I had planned to open mine up to see what was in it but it is sealed with a sticker. If anybody has photos of the interior please post them!
If you want close-up photos of the identical Wii version I can post them.
FindMyFarms said:Yeah pics would be awesome. Also does anyone/site mention if it's snk parts or 3rd party?

For the buttons, what would you compare their feel to? Springy like happs, clacky and seemless like sanwas, a lil heavier and more of a "thud" like seimitsus, or kinda squishy like stock horry/mc buttons?

Say, BlazBlue is another 4-button game. I wonder how it plays with the Neo stick.Yes Boss! said:Mushy like stock Horis but they are also much louder and the are kinda floating. I dunno, I use mine for Blue's Journey (my favorite Neo-Geo game of all time) and I would not have it any other way. The stick definitely has its place but as an all-arounder you might do better in choosing something else. Fwiw, I'm getting one for the Triple to use on KoF XII. If I stay with it is another question, but that is my intention!

Yes Boss! said:_dementia, what are you using for KoF/BB? I'm guessing you are doing PS3 for both versions of the game?
The thing about HRAP EX is, if you don't use the included clip, the headset wire really gets in the way. Awkward location total.MicVlaD said:Is it me, or does the so-called headset adapter for the MadCatz SE stick leave a lot to be desired? Doesn't work at all, and I wished they used a decent plug like this stick (don't know its name).
While that might be the case, at least it'd work. With the SE stick, I only get static at best._dementia said:The thing about HRAP EX is, if you don't use the included clip, the headset wire really gets in the way. Awkward location total.
I wasn't aware Madcatz was making BB sticks. Are you sure that's the case? I know Hori is doing a limited run.Halvie said:Are the Madcatz blazeblue sticks going to be at e3?
Momar said:LS-32 does not fit in the HRAP3, so I'd be surprised if it fit in an EX.
Momar said:However, the stick you're planning to mod looks like it has the same mounting plate as the one that already has an LS-32 in it. You could always just measure the distances between screw holes to make sure it fits, or just take the LS-32 out of your EX-SE temporarily to try it out. Don't be like me and buy an LS-56, only to realize afterward that the TE "universal mounting plate" isn't as universal as advertised![]()
