Hmm....so I've been considering something else..
Buying a custom stick with the image that I want and that works with the Xbox 360..

I go to the first page and check every link and find nothing, no site that makes sticks with custom images for the 360...or any system for that matter..yet, I see pics posted and stuff..

So, which link am I missing? :p

Anyone looking for HRAP2 SA? I found a place that has a couple of them brand new.

I'm honestly more interested in a HRAP2 normal since I have to find something to do with the stock buttons I took out of the TE, but depending on the price, I might be. Where did you find them at, and at what price?

http://www.arcadeinabox.com/ does customs. They're quite backlogged though.

I think I may be looking to sell one of my PS3 HRAP 3s. It's the white base Amazon edition. I'll be moving the first week of August and I blanch when I see the enormity of the game-stuff I need to pack, and I might wind up ditching a couple sticks.

I gutted the Amazon HRAP of its stick and buttons back in February to use them for another stick project, and replaced them with a new Sanwa JLF and Sanwa buttons a couple months later. It has been used minimally since then, like, literally 15 mins to make sure it was put together correctly, so it's got a brand new set of twig n' berries on it. I don't think I want to let it go for less than $300. I love the look of it and hope no one tempts me with an offer.

I am also mulling the sale of my brand new 360 Hori HRAP EX:SE. It's still in the box, unused and new as the day it was born. Any idea what the going monies are for that big boy? My wife found out she was pregnant 2 months ago, and I can think of a dozen baby neccessities the sale of this stick could finance. :P

This is tentative stuff - if anyone is really interested the onus is on you to woo me big time.

I could use a second HRAP EX SE ;)

Hit me up via PM

Somebody jump on Baron's HRAP EX-SE...like the MOST sexiest stick ever! My personal favorite in my limited collecting history.

And, this might be off topic but I've got a new 29" Nieman multi-sync arcade monitor arriving from Canada next week and I'm trying to decide what to do with it. Do I make a custom cabinet out of wood with an Astro City controller plate, buy an old Egret II or something like that and clean it up, or go with a new Chinese knock-off? Anybody have recommendations? I'll be using it for PS2/DC shmups and dedicated PCBs and I've got about a grand for expense.

Blah, NCS didn't update with the Hori RAP3-SE today. Might be a lost cause for me. :-(

I do have an Amazon stick arriving from GAFer purg3 today. Thinking I'll do the below mode to it (found on SRK). Reminds me of my days when I used to race RC buggies and fly micro-heli's.

Hi everyone :)
I recently decided to build a custom stick with the help of a friend, but I need some advices from you experts. Considering that I will use the stick primarily for fighting games (Soul Calibur 4 for now, KOF XII and BlazBlue in the near future), which parts do you suggest me to buy? And more importantly, from which shop (I live in Italy)?
Thanks in advance for the replies ^_^

Depends on what you prefer.

Sanwa or Seimitsu

Lizardlick.com or Arcadeshop.de

arcadeshop.de is located in Germany, so the shipment wouldn't take long

I got my stuff from Arcadeshop.de (and I live in the states) and Jan there was really good and easy to deal with. Took right at 2 weeks from the time I ordered it to get it via standard airmail and the price was very competitive. I went with the Seimitsu stick and Sanwa buttons and am really happy with the mod.

I've said it before but I would encourage anyone with an interest in fighting games and a little extra cash to grab one of the MadCatz sticks and go for it. The final product is easy to create and well worth it.

Fightstick SE get! The thing looks great in person. Nice weight, too.

Now, I knew that the screws on that thing were easy to strip, but this is ridiculous. How did they even screw them in this tight?! The thing's are made of butter!
So now I've got to wait on a mounting plate because I can't use the stock one... Or does anybody here know an easy way to get the stripped screws out? And how different does a JLF feel compared to the stock unit, anyway?

Sigh.

Might be the first one I miss in the last nine months. As usual: please post pic if anybody gets it. Also pics for the BB stick!

I did spring for a cabinet yesterday and will likely have to replace the control panel from Akihabara in the coming weeks...which looks to be about the amount of money I would have spent on an HRAP-SE.

"New Astro City" I'm taking out the stock monitor and replacing it with one that also has 31k, bought from Nieman Displays.

Really wanted an Egret 2 because of how easy it is to rotate the monitor but it was just a liitle too pricey. I'll start small with this machine for vertical shumps then go for something like a Blast City next year for horizontal gaming.

Is there a cabinet thread/user contingent on GAF?

anyone know how to unstick the buttons on an SE SF4 stick.

on one button it sometimes gets slightly stuck, it doesnt happen often, but it is an annoyance.

i am absolutely clueless when it comes to modding or else i would have put some better buttons and a better stick.

so any quick fixes to keep buttons from sticking?

I'm wanting to build a cab from scratch, the screen is the sticking point though I can't find any :( I don't want to use a computer monitor.

Any advice?

So this new HRAP3:SE stick, is it that much better than the normal HRAP3 stick? Just got mine in the mail after 2 months of wait.. They actually sent me an email saying that they had cancelled my order and a week ago I get a maíl saying they just sent it.

HRAP3 - Sanwa stick, Hori Buttons
HRAP3 SE - Seimitsu stick, Seimitsu buttons

I dunno exactly what you are using it for but after looking for about six months I settled on relatively new firm in Canada called Nieman Displays. CRTs and tri-mode. The guy who started the company has solid credentials and you can email him anytime with questions. They handle 15, 24, and 31K and have the three different resolutions. Just about $600 delivered out of New York and make an awesome start to a cabinet. I bought the monitor first then decided what I wanted to do with it.

I was in the same situation and considered building a cabinet from scratch but I opted for a cheap, well-used cabinet out of Japanese arcade. And though I grew up in the Saudi and I'm most familiar with American-style arcades, the overall look of custom wood jobs have that nasty Mame appearance. Form factor on the Japanese machines was definitely a plus, for me. Bonus: they come with pretty good monitors installed.

Getting game systems to run at the 15K and synced is a relatively easy cable hack and adapting the varying controllers to the cabinet is about $50 from Ultrimarc.

I dunno, I'll post the monitor in the pick-up thread next week and let you know what I think of it. Maybe I'll start a cabinet thread if I can't find one here. I'm as noob as anybody can be but there are plenty of cabinet owners on GAF, I'm sure.

i had to give up my pre-order spot from aki with great trepidation. too much of a luxury item for me. I'll stick with my FSSE...uh...SE (soon to be dual modded)

Tough, tough decision. I feel for you! But yeah, probably excess. You've got that tight SE-SE mod. I'm doing that to mine in the coming month. The thing is going to be a little MACHINE.

Anybody know what type of Seimitsu stick I should be ordering for the Fightsick SE?

Been looking at how to slap a pad into my PS3 SE to get it to work on 360 too and I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed. I'm also a little pissed that I deliberately hunted down a used 360 MadCatz pad and it ended up still being a 2008 with the crazy triggers... hahaha.

Oh well. This is what I have friends for.

I have a 360 SE modded with Seimitsu parts. I like how it feels. And I'd agree, the HRAP3 SE are pretty excessive but nice. Congrats to Markman for adding another stick to his collection.

I'm thinking of buying another TE so I can have it modded. Which would be better, buying a 360 or a PS3 and having Akuma001 modding it?

Speaking of which, check out what I picked up yesterday :)

http://twitpic.com/7yejw

I found an Egret II on Craigslist in fantastic shape. I was right about to pull the trigger on an Astro City myself, but then I found this at the last second. The panel needs to be redone (it's a faux Windy II) but other than that, it's great.

Ordered a set of Sanwa Buttons and Seimitsu sticks (LS-32) just the other day. Now, I just need something to play on it :lol But that'll come very soon.

Wow! That one definitely seems special. Thing is a beast. Looks like a little spaceman that wants to be touched. I'm 99% sure I'm going to start collecting these things...like, put together one per year. Definitely keep us posted as you get it all together.

Yes Boss! LS-32-01.

And YAY, Astro City cabs!

I have an Astro City in my garage. I love cabs. I really want an HD cab though, I'm either going to get a Riverservice cab or a Vewlix L(blue one)...

Can't decide X_X

Thanks for the model number...I'll order on Monday. Can't wait to trick out my SE. I think I >almost< like the little guy more than the TE. For shame! I'm keeping the original white motif...keeping it real and original.

PS you should start a MarkMan-certfied Cabinet thread!

A lot of people seem to like the size/ergonomics of the SE stick over the TE.

Obviously this comes down to preference. I like both. The TE excels on a table/on the floor... IMO though.

But lap play, both are awesome.

I guess it depends on your lap too lol.

TOO MANY FACTORZ!

---

I tried to search, I could have sworn I made an arcade stick thread back in 2006...

Oh well. I'll consider making a new one... I need to compile the op topic info first.

i used old computer case screws to fit the mounting bracket on the se to my JLF.

Also, where can I get SEIMITSU buttons fast now?
I can't seem to get used to the overly sensitive sanwas (on my TE)...

Also... some gamestop leakz...

http://www.gamestop.com/browse/sear...Keyword&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntt=tekken 6

Uh oh....

thats some of the surprise... More info at 10:30 AM PST on www.sdtekken.com

I like the dark hai and yellow on black look of PS3 version of the Tekken Stick. Reminds me of the VSHG.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if the VSHG plays nice with T6 yet?

I thought they be gone by now!
Ok Baron, I'm sending you PM.
As for fair price... I'd definitely pay you more than what you got it for... let's talk in PM!

So,

In a little over an hour we get new Tekken stick infos?

Blech, $175 delivered for the BB stick. I'm sticking with my NCS preorder. If PA is getting them then NCS surely will be able to fulfill. It is stated that it is arriving on today's general update.

And, still no HRAP-SE stub at NCS. Truly seeming like a lost cause :-(
