It’s not correct. If you’re convinced that there’s a moderation bias to that degree, everything becomes evidence of the bias, including bans against the opposing team. The mod actions are transparent and I’ve not seen evidence of bias. There are no console warriors on the mod team.

We had noticed a trend with brap’s recent actions having routinely gone over the line. As has been stated in the past, we are fine with joking around with some humorous and light-hearted jabs, however there was a clear escalation of vitriol and ever increasing and more prominent console warring posts that we could not ignore. We have discussed at length numerous times over the past year about what to do with the user and have reached out to him as many times. Sadly, these attempts to reach out, the warnings, and the bans seemed to have no real affect.

As stated in the ban message, it was a tough decision, but we believe we were more than fair with brap, but ultimately a perm was deemed necessary.

I'm new to the site so I really didn't know Brap. But reading through your explanation gives me insight on how moderation works here and I thank you for that.

Based on what you said it seems more than fair the action that you took.

It is correct. I never said the mods are biased, I said that the actions taken isn't the same.

Plenty of people that have been doing nothing but make the place unpleasant for plenty of people are still around

Watch Coulomb and CJY continue to do what they do when they're back. Watch thelastword and the other followers of his cult keep on sneak starting shit and then disappear when it gets bad

You'll have a better experience on GAF if you're not emotionally invested in seeing people on the opposing console war team banned. If they come back and step out of line again, action will be taken again.

I am not emotionally invested in anything as I also don't care about any team. I want to have proper discussions that is all

Bring back brap and make him a mod. In all seriousness brap refused to change and this was inevitable. I suppose it's not a good look exactly to seem "weak" when moderating but since this is a community discussions, improvements and compromises should preferably always be on the table.

For what it's worth I say he should be given another chance and show it by changing his antagonistic style to a nicer one should he actually want to still be a part of the forum.

After that then it's not just worth it.

Perms usually always bum me out. Just the finality of it, I guess.

That being said, haven’t there been guys who reached out a little while after getting banned and were given a final chance? Or am I imagining that happened?

I feel like we will see Brap again sooner or later.

Or, we can revolutionize the forum world by creating an anti-ignore list, where we can add banned members who's posts we still want to see. That way, only those who opt-in get to visit brap in his cell.

Put bars over these dudes avatars and let them have forum visitation once a week for an hour.
