I guess it’s non of my business, but what confuses me about the SonGoku situation is did he just randomly PM someone the spoiler unsolicited, or did someone ask him about the story and he relied with a spoiler?
If someone had asked him about the story and got the spoiler PM reply from him, I assume it wouldn’t have been reported, since the other person first asked. If he just randomly PM’d someone a spoiler without reason then, I mean just being honest here, how is that not malicious? I’m just confused by the scenario.
Those are the only two possible ways I can see it played out, unless there is context to the exchange I am just unaware of.

To be fair, your OP does come off really buzzwordy and this is coming from someone who has been arguing that teraflops don't tell the whole story. That said, Birdo does get too console warrior-ish sometimes.It's funny how he thought he was untouchable the other day by going in my thread and flatout telling me to fuck off and insulting me for no good reason whatsoever.

I'm in the same boat as you. If someone requested he send them a spoiler privately I don't see why he should be banned for that. Conversely if he sent someone a spoiler unsolicited and was reported for it IMO he should most definitely be perm'd.
There is probably something in between these 2 scenarios that you and I haven't figured out, but dammit, I'm curious what it is

Maybe he asked to see some pics that would not spoil the game just to see the visuals. And then Goku sent him some pics that the receiver considered spoilers and reported it.
It's hard to imagine something in the middle with this to be honest.

This is what happens when some of you get too involved with console warring. If alot of you fellow"cheerleaders" would nip this shit in the bud early on and cut the childish team bullshit then alot of these bans wouldn't happen. The constant back and forth banter, bait threads, and drive by shit posts ensured this was coming. And that goes to everyone. This forum can do much better.

Sounds like he tried to pull a fast one on the mods. Plus he was posting those spoilers outside the spoiler thread and in another thread that was about another game.
Seems justified to me and it's clearly explained in the thread about spoilers. Even before thread existed he was a member long enough to learn the rules here. And he apparently has a history of console warring.

You can always contact the mods if you have issues with some of the bans. However it's pretty clear what the consequences are for releasing spoilers out of the spoiler thread.

He posted TLOU2 spoiler in the CP77 thread as a “joke,” in his words, then edited after someone else told him there is a perm warning for doing that.
Again, I’m not saying he should be perm’d, just providing the context as I saw that go down myself (was reading the thread as he posted and as he edited)

I explain to you the difference between, with CAN change the permaban to temporary ban. Neither me or you for jugde, only staff.
Read my post. Not saying who must get perma, but the staff already change some bans to temp based on that.

How so? I've been having a nice discussion on spoiler thread, but when I enter into a conversation using my phone sometimes I made mistakes with the thread. I guess that why mods are editing the thread titles with 'THIS IS NOT A SPOILER THREAD'?
I admit I paid more attention this time (about miss click thread) because I don't want to spoiler for people who don't want spoiler, but I already made mistakes posting in wrong thread. Happen more offen than you could imagine. BTW I not saying the people who get permaban made this mistake, but are some permaban getting converted?
Only staff could light this up. Maybe, context?

I saw that too, it looked like a screwup/mistake to me and he immediately edited when it was brought to his attention by another member. But as someone else said it's not for us to judge or moderate. I am sorry he's not still with us.
Edit for clarification: I don't think he accidentally posted, I think he didn't realize the ramifications of what he posted. There were tons of spoilers all over the internet and in the leak thread posted here and I'm not sure he realized it was an automatic perma-ban. I didn't know that either until people started getting banned.

I think he should of had a warning for it at the very least and a Temporary Ban at most because some Console Warring Posters have more chances for doing it on purpose.
I understand if he did it on purpose then tried to delete the edits, but I think telling him that he only gets one warning over it should have been enough to stop him.
