Don’t need to restrict it to gold members but I think it would be a good idea to treat anyone who hasn’t posted since 2017 as a new member and require them to reach the 50 post limit in the main parts of the forum first. Let the likes of NI and Nigerian Prince have their time in the sun. They’ve taken their slings and arrows for the last couple years when it was not easy mode for them and have earned their right to gloat, no matter how obnoxious it is. (This is not an olive branch — I still think you’re both dishonest, weaselly cunts). But any cunt Reeturning to gloat and sneer and lash out at the right wing effigies they’ve created in their minds can fuck off. All they’re doing is riling up regulars and it’s not worth losing good members like Saruhashi, Phonepunk, Zombie and Grib for these rats. These are the same types who shit their pants 3 years ago and left it for everyone else to clean up. They will add nothing to the community and will flee for purpler pastures the minute they appear.

I agree, it's not worth losing the good members. But January has broken them and many others, including the media on both sides. On one side, Rampant hypocrisy from those who were cheering on riots last year, and the other, people who feel betrayed after putting up with the slander for four years.
I don't know if it was the promise of a new year or because of the election or what, but people are going looney tunes in that forum, and I can't see it improving until after Biden is sworn in and everything settles down.
It was just an idea, a chance for people to reflect before going full Ben Stiller and flushing their accounts down the drain. I mean, we're meant to be adults so this suggestion is mental, but here we are.

I liked GAF for the whole package. GAF is great because of all the mixed opinions and positions. It's awesome to get pushback and support in threads. It's easy for things to turn into an echo chamber, and so far GAF has been pretty good about allowing all perspectives. This latest move worries me, but I'm not going to burn my account to make a statement.
Also, it's 2021. Everything is political.
