Languages/Views changing isn't new; the frequency at which they do has, and unless you want to diminish your internet speeds or cut off your access entirely as well to your community, it's here to stay

It's like dealing with businesses who refuse to modernize; sure, sending faxes and checks to all your vendors works but debit/credit payments work much more efficiently. Either get with the picture or get left behind; most companies only have a fax line as a courtesy to legacy systems or elderly customers

As someone who works in web hosting, servers, and colocation; yes, I am in 100% support of this. People have a very limited understanding of the IT industry, and while getting booted off of platforms like Amazon can happen, there's tons of hosts out there that would have no problem hosting your shit, including in other countries

The evolution of language is constant, and there's always been "Double fine News speak."
People have lost their careers due to community outcry for decades; executives have stepped down because of controversy, no?
The only difference is that it's being portrayed in front of you at a rate you find alarming

It is in the context of getting with the times; if you post online, it's in a public space (Even if in a private DM, etc). What you do and say in public is up to public scrutiny
If you don't want to have something scrutinized by the public, do it offline and in private

Just remember, doing something in private doesn't make you immune to what other people will think of that, in the private setting and outside of it. People in the private setting can also go outside of that private setting and tell those details.

From what I've snooped, Gaf doesn't even use big tech outside of HackCloudFlare; so no pressure on NeoGAF either

IMO the only reason Big Tech did what they did is because of the flak they've gotten from the government and general populace recently; starts to push them into thinking about risk assessment more (And they should)
