Damn, $5 each!? I've been meaning to pick up Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea 3 and really wouldn't mind throwing them into my backlog if they were 5 bucks each.
My recent pick-ups/gifts in the last week:
Water Life. Blu-Ray box set. $19.99.
This is the lowest I've seen this set at Amazon. When it was first released, I was kicking myself for not picking it up at $41. In the past few weeks, the price would fluctuate anywhere from $49-$71. One day, I was randomly checking my wish list (as I always do) and noticed it dropped to $19.99. I'm not sure if it was part of a Christmas sale but I immediately placed the order. Unfortunately, it's not
that great. I started up the first few episodes (they're in increments of half-hour segments) of Water's Journey and it just didn't impress me. Some shots/scenes are very detailed while others looked like they were recycled from older footage. The inconsistent quality in image and the erratic narration/awkward audio transitions make this doc difficult to enjoy. If the first disc I watched is any indication, I'm glad I only payed $20 for it. And no, it's not even comparable to Planet Earth or any of the BBC's nature docs.
Apple Remote. Apple. Free/Gift.
Got this from my secret santa coworker. It was quite funny when my other coworkers asked me what it was. "WHY DO YOU NEED A REMOTE TO CONTROL YOUR IPHONE?!" I explained to them that it was for my Macbook/Apple TV and everything is right in the world again. I'm going to sync this aluminum remote with my Apple TV whereas my old white remote will be synced with my Macbook.
Starbucks Gift Card. Amount: Unknown. Free/Gift.
From my auntie. She didn't write the amount down and instead, wrote "guess!". I'm hoping it's at least 15 bucks. That way, when I'm out with my friends, I don't yell out "drinks on me" only to have to pay the difference.
Givenchy Play. 3.3 fl oz Cologne. Free/Gift.
From my special lady friend. I really love the subtle smell this cologne gives off. I think I actually like it more than the Armani Code that I just bought for myself recently. She also got me a pimpin' red robe and a skinny black tie (both are not pictured).
Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Dino Megazord. Free/Gift.
Quick and dirty picture. From my brother. When we were young, we've
always wanted this but our parents would never buy it for us. Or rather, we would always pick something else when our birthdays/Christmas would come around. One year, I would pick a model naval battleship; another year I would get Karate Fighters (remember those?) and another a Super NES. For some reason, the Dino Megazord would always elude our wants due to other toys catching our interest. A decade and a half have gone by and now I'm 23. With no interest in the Power Rangers franchise or action figures/toys, this little package brought out some great childhood memories. Even if I'm not going to do anything with it, it's easily my favorite gift this season.
