Unless an owner dumps his entire roster to the waiver wire and clearly abandons the league I'd prefer no external interference.

Yeah that's not negotiable. If it does happen, I will try to fill the open slots with players on their roster and anyone off the waiver wire will be the absolute minimum just so they can start someone (like I did with Charlie Whitehurst last year lol)

Also, I will try to contact the manager first and any adjustments by me will be made only if they have empty slots with 15 minutes left until kickoff.

Let's just hope no one goes AWOL at the end of the year :)

It's crazy how 2 SBs gives him the leeway to do stuff that would be mercilessly ridiculed if almost anyone else did it..

Those projections mean nothing. I am projected to lose a few games simply because of bye weeks. Obviously I will have bench players in there getting points. Injuries will occur. Stud will falter. Nobodies will emerge. Also remember to never use yahoos projections in trading players.

You're right but I think Royal was overlooked because he got hurt in camp. Chargers are really thin at WR now and he is their #3 at worst. Not bad for a waiver-wire pickup in a 16-team league

Just finished my 12 team league draft. Standard scoring..passing touchdowns worth 6pts. I had 8th pick in the draft.

QB: Phillips Rivers
RB: Darren Mcfadden
RB: Marshawn Lynch
WR: Wes Welker
WR: Percy Harvin
WR: Vincent Jackson
TE: Fred Davis
D/ST: Atlanta
K: Eagles kicker..forget his name

Bench: Donald Brown, CJ Spiller, Malcolm Floyd, Leonard Hankerson, Jonathen Dwyer, Andrew Luck

Any thoughts?

My draft is tomorrow and I have not been paying attention to any of the preseason at all this year. I am probably screwed.

New this year we are allowing a TE to be used in the flex. So now I can possibly start three TEs. I have the last pick (12th). Would it be crazy to take two TEs back to back? Gronk and Jimmy Graham. Given that there are so few elite TEs in the league I think this could be a smart move. Thoughts?

I wouldn't do this. It just leaves you too shallow at other positions. If you have 12th pick I would see if Brees falls to you (probably won't) or maybe go with Stafford and one of the Tight Ends. This way you could get your two running backs round 3-4, and stock up on wide receivers late as it is crazy deep this year.

Since this seems like the defacto fantasy thread, would anyone mind rating my team? 14 team standard Yahoo league:

1. (7) Cam Newton QB
2. (22) Jamaal Charles RB
3. (35) Jordy Nelson WR
4. (50) Marques Colston WR
5. (63) Dez Bryant WR
6. (78) Stevan Ridley RB
7. (91) Jermaine Gresham TE
8. (106) Pittsburgh DEF
9. (119) Mark Ingram RB
10. (134) Andy Dalton QB

12. (162) Ronnie Hillman RB
13. (175) Nate Kaeding K
14. (190) Jerome Simpson WR
15. (203) Daniel Thomas RB

Pretty happy with my draft overall, only real concern I have is Stevan Ridley but in a 14 team league the first RB on the depth chart even in a pass heavy offense should be worthwhile, no?

I'd be shocked if Brees was still available at 12, but he would be a no brainer if he was there. Stafford, I'm not too hot on. Just have a feeling he won't last the entire season. He seems to be prone to injury.

But I think you have a point. I need a QB at that spot or I'll be stuck with a second tier QB and that has never worked out for me in the past.

I like your team but picking Cam at 7th? Brees or Brady wasn't available? Your wide receivers are great especially for a 14 team league, but your running backs are certainly thin. I never liked going with New England backs. You never know who is going to get the carries. Ingram could be due for a break out year though.

Drafted my gf's team for her last night. 14 teams, 2nd pick. Quite a deep league.

1. (2) Ray Rice RB
2. (27) Cam Newton QB
3. (30) Julio Jones WR
4. (55) Doug Martin RB
5. (58) Brandon Lloyd WR
6. (83) Robert Meachem WR
7. (86) Jacob Tamme TE
8. (111) Detroit DEF
9. (114) Jacquizz Rodgers RB
10. (139) Toby Gerhart RB
11. (142) Kenny Britt WR
12. (167) Danny Amendola WR
13. (170) Ryan Tannehill QB
14. (195) Rashard Mendenhall RB
15. (198) Mike Nugent K

The format is QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, D/ST.

The reason I picked Detroit at 8th was because everyone was picking defense super early to my dismay. But that wasn't surprising considering Joe Flacco went third overall and Jay Cutler was picked in the first round.

Great team. Ray Rice is a stud and getting Cam late second round is a pleasant surprise. Julio Jones and Brandon Lloyd could both be top ten receivers and Robert Meachem is a good number 3. Little thin at running back, but Doug Martin should have a productive year, and I wouldn't be too surprised if Rodgers ends up with more carries than Turner in Atlanta. If Kenny Britt performs like he did in the two games last year you could have another top 20 WR.

Am I gonna win $80?

I like Puddles synopsis of his draft(below) so I'll add one. I'm a Bears fan so yeah...I picked lots of Bears. =) Forte should do a lot better this year now that Marshall is on the team. Pick 17 for Marshall is probably a bit early...was looking to take Jimmy Graham or Marshawn Lynch here but both of those would have been a bit of a stretch. Cutler/Marshall should be a good duo(again)...Jay, who I had plans on taking later in the draft. Michael Turner is a pretty steady back. Might have jumped the gun again but my somewhat swingy 8th starting location leaves gaps that you really don't know who will be on the board at that time. 4th round I had planned on taking Frank Gore but he went a few before me so I took the next best receiver I saw. Debated between Steve Smith and Colston...I think I chose wisely. Yeah, Colston bye(and Smith's too) is week 6, same as Marshall but I said F-it...I planed on taking another couple of receivers anyhow and can play my backup TE in flex that week.

5th round I picked Thomas. His numbers too should improve. It was him or the Cowboys receivers and I'd rather cheer for Denver than Dallas. Picked up Benson from Green Bay in the 6th. Have never really been a fan of Benson but am hoping the change of scenery will improve his play. Needed a TE so I chose Pettigrew in the 7th. Think I could have got Gonzalez from Atlanta but he's old. Looks like I was the second to last to draft a QB(I thought I was last during the draft). Whether or not the guy who chose Peyton behind me would have picked Cutler over Peyton...I dunno. I knew I wanted Cutler though. He showed that he could play last year plus it made sense since I had a couple of his targets with my first two picks. Plus, I didn't want draftees to claim him as their second QB and I think that started in round 10...so yeah, maybe could have waited a round but I made the right call as all I would have done is swap picks with the next guy I drafted.

Sidney Rice will get the honor to start at WR in week 6 with Thomas as I only drafted 4 WRs. Rice coming in round 9. I saw him play a lot when he was with Minnesota. Good player who should break out this year. At the moment I have him starting in week 1 against Arizona in the flex spot, as Thomas' Broncos play feisty Pittsburgh. I chose Gresham in round 10. Houston D went right after which I also wanted but looking back it's a good pick. Backup QBs were going so I thought I'd get in on the action with Schaub. The dude can throw...very accurate passer. Looks like Houston plays GB in week 6 when Cutler is off. We'll see who puts up better numbers...I could move him into the starting role if need be. Seattle has a pretty easy schedule in playoff weeks. That's the main reason I picked them. Looked at their D roster before the draft and I have no idea who most of those guys are. Should be interesting. I chose New England D with the next pick. They also have an easy playoff schedule and overall a super easy schedule throughout the first 13 games as well. Betting against their opponents. With the last pick I chose San Diego's kicker. It's a kicker so I don't really care. I just wanted someone with a bye after week 6(Kaeding is off week 7) so I can drop Schaub or maybe even Pettigrew or someone to free up space to get a new kicker for that week.

So yeah, that's my draft. It went pretty according to plan. I had done about 10 mocks before the draft over the past couple of weeks. I'm happy with what I got.

I am putting my hat in for no external interference if a commish goes AWOL. No waiver wire pick-ups, and only picking to fill empty slots are the only thing I would agree with. Getting beat by a team without a coach because Konex picks up some rising nobody off the waiver wire (due to better priority) and then getting beat by said luck would be disheartening. I am in it to the end, so don't screw people over who are, too.

Economy League, 12 Teams:

1.2 - Ray Rice
2.11 - Matty Ice
3.2 - Roddy White
4.11 - Ahmad Bradshaw
5.2 - Antonio Brown
6.11 - Beanie Wells
7.2 - Jermichael Finley
8.11 - DHB
9.2 - David Wilson
10.11 - Nate Washington
11.2 - Mendenhall
12.11 - Baltimore D
13.2 - Mason Crosby
14.11 - Jonathan Dwyer

I thought about taking Rodgers at #2, but I banked on an elite QB still being available late in the 2nd in a 12 team league. Cam went two picks in front of me, but I managed to secure Ryan. I was set to take my RB2 in the third, but I wasn't in love with the RBs on the board at that slot, and with Ray Rice anchoring the position, I decided to get my WR1. I like Roddy this year if he's healthy.

Bradshaw was, IMO, the best option left at RB when I picked again, although I was conflicted between him and Willis McGahee. I had intended to take another RB in the 5th, but when Antonio Brown fell to me, I had to pull the trigger. Beanie Wells, who I think is undervalued, was still available in the 6th. He put up 1000 yards and 10 TDs last season, which is great value in the 6th round.

Not in love with the Finley pick, but I wasn't sure who would be left at TE when I picked again, and it turns out that the best option if I had waited would have been Greg Olsen. I managed to get two of the bench WRs I was targeting in DHB and Nate Washington, as well as a handcuff for Bradshaw in David Wilson. Mendy might be useful to stash until he's healthy, and if not, I'll just drop him.

Overall I'm quite happy with this team. 3-10 is a joke.

BN Rashad Jennings (Jac - RB)
BN Reggie Wayne (Ind - WR)

Matt Ryan in the second? How quickly did QBs go in this draft?

I think I got a steal with Mathews at #43. No one can even come close to touching my 3 RBs and QB. My starting WRs are very boom or bust... Let's hope for boom. Biggest issue will be to know when Mathews will actually play with all those late games.

1.4 Aaron Rodgers
1.6 Tom Brady

2.11 Matt Ryan
4.1 Eli Manning
5.1 Philip Rivers
7.5 Tony Romo
7.11 Michael Vick
8.5 Jay Cutler
9.3 Peyton Manning

That decision was based on my belief that Ryan is going to take the leap to elite status this year. It was a gamble, but I had a stud at RB1, and my next pick was coming up in three spots, so I knew I could get a WR1 in the 3rd.

Ryan Mathews is going to be questionable the first couple of weeks, so you might have to start Redman week 1-2, but other than that it's a decent team. Strong wide receivers (even though I'm not a fan of taking Calvin Johnson in the first round) and if Vick stays healthy you could be looking at a successful year. Maybe try packaging two of your receivers for a running back?

11. (130) Houston (Hou - DEF)

You were the only one who stole one of my picks. You got Houston. They have a pretty easy week 14-16 which would be nice if you make the playoffs. I got Seattle and New England though who also have it easy those weeks.

I would start Jennings over Redman this week without question. Next week when MJD is more entrenched in his usual role? Probably not.

Liking this team a lot. Very high on Lloyd this year...potential to be a top ten receiver.

Was grabbing 6 running backs necessary though? Should of probably stacked your wide receiver depth since you got 3 stud RBs and Ingram.

Getting beat by a team without a coach because Konex picks up some rising nobody off the waiver wire (due to better priority) and then getting beat by said luck would be disheartening. I am in it to the end, so don't screw people over who are, too.

How about if the guy you're battling for a playoff spot gets a free win because someone bails out in week 13? Would you still be okay with no commish action? :p

I am just trying to avoid any bitching and moaning since this is a money league. After 3 years with no major incidents, I think we've done a good job. Last year, I can't remember making more than 2 waiver-wire pickups for an AWOL manager so it's kind of a moot point..

I would be fine with this. How does everyone else feel?

I'm pro-democracy on most things but not on this. You're not the one people will send scathing pms too lol

What I will do (and did do last year), was be transparent about any roster moves I make in the RARE event that we have someone go AWOL at the end of the season. I'll post in this thread and also email/pm the manager before taking any action.

I don't see how anyone can be against this. It's the best way to maintain the integrity of the league while minimizing complaints.

I will take action 15 minutes before kickoff IF someone didn't set their team (a big IF) and/or they don't have an active player to start at a position (an even bigger IF).

I mean, I picked fucking Charlie Whitehurst for the guy who had no active QB that week. And I put him right back in the FA pool afterwards!!! lol

edit: This is a Sunday/Monday thing only btw. Not feasible for Thursday games cos folks might just not want to start a certain guy. I will pm folks reminders for Thursday games if I see active guys on the bench though :p

Since everyone else is posting their other league's teams, here is my other team:

16 team, PPR w return yards.

QB, RB, WR, W/R/T x 4, K, D/ST, LB, DB, DL

Tom Brady (obviously a great pick unless he gets another broken leg!)

Jordy Nelson (can't be mad about this pick, going to have another great year)

Devin Hester (Hopefully he will get a lot of touches on OFF and continue his return dominance, if he does, he is incredibly undervalued. I think I got him 7th round)

DeMarco Murray (with all of Dallas' receiver woes, he should get a lot of receptions and rushes)

Brandon Pettigrew (a lot of touches, yards, and a good deal of TDs for a TE last year. who I was targetting anyway, since I was definitely not getting Jimmy Graham or Gronkowski)

C.J. Spiller (should be a good target this year, hopefully still fields some punts and kickoffs, too)

Brandon Tate (return yards bonanza, and is listed first on the depth chart for Cincy)

Mason Crosby (one of the best, and the best available when I got him)
Chicago DEF (best D overall, imo. No way SF repeats *and if they do, I have them in NQ4!!*)
Jason McCourty (top 5 Fantasy LB, imo.)
Ahtyba Rubin (same for DB)
Chad Greenway (same for DL)

Bench

Austin Collie (hopefully doesn't get any more concussions. If so, good second option in Indy)

Mike Tolbert (looking less good as the days go on, but he was great for PPR last year, especially since I picked him up on the waiver wire)

Rashard Mendenhall (once he is healthy, he is definitely going in my starting lineup or will be great trade fodder)

Jabar Gaffney (once he gets picked up by a team (and apparently Miami is looking at him) he will be a good 2nd or 3rd option on a lot of teams)

Ronnie Hillman (coach said he will be used on throwing downs, and could get some touches during late games or if Peyton takes a liking to him...who knows)

Super deep league with a lot of savvy players, so I didn't get exactly who I wanted, but then again, who does?

I am much happier with this team than my NQ4 team, but I think I will be successful in both. Projected by Yahoo (lol) to go 11-2, placing second in the league.

You guys gonna do the league pick em? I chose my picks for week 1. Looks like Mars chose himself too but didn't bother with the rest of the match-ups.

I'll post my rosters since thats the cool thing to do, a lot of similarities in my teams because I pretty much had the same positions:

I really don't like hinging my season on Harvin, Maclin and Torrey Smith.

I'll post my rosters since thats the cool thing to do, a lot of similarities in my teams because I pretty much had the same positions:

NQ4:
1. (14) Jimmy Graham TE
2. (19) Maurice Jones-Drew RB
3. (46) Frank Gore RB
4. (51) Brandon Lloyd WR
5. (78) Jay Cutler QB
6. (83) Denarius Moore WR
7. (110) Ben Tate RB
8. (115) Alshon Jeffery WR
9. (142) Rashard Mendenhall RB
10. (147) Nate Burleson WR
11. (174) Christian Ponder QB
12. (179) Detroit DEF
13. (206) James Jones WR
14. (211) Robbie Gould K

Econ:
1. (11) Jimmy Graham TE
2. (14) Maurice Jones-Drew RB
3. (35) Victor Cruz WR
4. (38) Hakeem Nicks WR
5. (59) Dez Bryant WR
6. (62) Donald Brown RB
7. (83) Michael Vick QB
8. (86) Toby Gerhart RB
9. (107) Michael Bush RB
10. (110) Tony Gonzalez TE
11. (131) Carson Palmer QB
12. (134) Chicago DEF
13. (155) Nate Burleson WR
14. (158) Matt Prater K

Other league (12 team standard):
Graham, Jimmy TE NO
Forte, Matt RB CHI
Green, A.J. WR CIN
Marshall, Brandon WR CHI
McGahee, Willis RB DEN
Lloyd, Brandon WR NE
Boldin, Anquan WR BAL
Cutler, Jay QB CHI
Spiller, C.J. RB BUF
Schaub, Matt QB HOU
Rodgers, Jacquizz RB ATL
Bengals DST CIN
Manningham, Mario WR SF
Prater, Matt K DEN

Drafting a TE that early is a huge mistake to me. Even if he matches what he did last year, a record breaking season mind you, he still isn't worth it based on VBD. However MJD could be a great value after the first couple of games.
Liking this team a lot. Very high on Lloyd this year...potential to be a top ten receiver.

Was grabbing 6 running backs necessary though? Should of probably stacked your wide receiver depth since you got 3 stud RBs and Ingram.

I guess I should have went for Kenny Britt upside instead of Mark Ingram looking back on the draft. I find myself drafting more RBs than WR this year. Figure it's easiest to pick up emerging WR on waiver wire over RBs.

Players that wound up on multiple teams for me this draft season (out of 5 leagues)...

Russell Wilson x4
Matt Ryan x3

Kenny Britt x4
Randall Cobb x2
Eric Decker x2
Julio Jones x2
Jordy Nelson x2

Doug Martin x3
DeMarco Murray x2
Ray Rice x2
Darren Sproles x2

Aaron Hernandez x2

Alex Henery x2

Mario Williams & the Buffalo Bills D/ST x4

The one player I am super high on this season that never found his way onto any of my teams... JACQUIZZ RODGERS.

I see you picked up Buffalo's D. They got an easy schedule too that could get them to the playoffs...but their preseason was pretty pathetic. 45 points or so given up last game.
