I said I would be asking for advice in my matchup this weekend... so here goes...
Which of the following quarterbacks should I start in my matchup vs. FirstPlaceLoser?
A) Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. the Dolphins
- Dolphins give up the 13th most FPs to opposing QBs
- Earned only 3.96 points in the Week 11 matchup at Miami | 20-for-39, 209 yards (w/17 rushing yards), 2 INTs, 3 "Almost" Fumbles, 2 sacks
- What Fitzpatrick has done the past 3 weeks: W12-22.96, W13-12.62, W14-4.64 | 3 WEEK AVERAGE = 13.41
- QBs vs. the Dolphins (past 3 weeks): W12-Romo (11.84), W13-Palmer (15.12), W14-Vick (7.22) | 3 WEEK AVERAGE = 11.39
- VARIABLES: Plays a lot better at home (14.72 average) than on the road (11.29 average) - this week's game is at home, sucked royally last matchup against Miami, no Fred Jackson, no red zone target in Chandler, Stevie Johnson injured hand last week
B) Matt Moore at the Bills
- Bills give up the 10th most FPs to opposing QBs
- Earned 17.60 points in the Week 11 matchup vs. Buffalo | 14-for-20, 160 yards, 3 TDs, 1 sack
- What Moore has done the past 3 weeks: W12-9.82, W13-17.68, W14-(0.10) | 3 WEEK AVERAGE = 9.13
- QBs vs. the Bills (past 3 weeks): W12-Sanchez (21.70), W13-Hasselbeck (4.50), W14-Rivers (17.60) | 3 WEEK AVERAGE = 14.60
- VARIABLES: Forced from last week's game with a concussion {questionable}, team's best tackle Jake Long remains out with a back injury, Dolphins offense may experience letdown now that popular head coach Sparano has been fired
C) Kyle Orton vs. the undefeated Green Bay Packers
- Packers give up the 8th most FPs to opposing QBs
- Earned 16.62 points in the Week 4 matchup at Green Bay (playing for the Broncos) | 22-for-32, 273 yards, 3 TDs, 3 INTs, 1 sack
- QBs vs. the Packers (past 3 weeks): W12-Stafford (13.14), W13-Manning (20.88), W14-Palmer (6.08) | 3 WEEK AVERAGE = 13.37
- VARIABLES: Returning from a dislocated figure on his throwing hand, new interim head coach Crennel says he intends to go run-heavy the next 3 weeks, lots of garbage time score opportunities
D) Someone else off the waiver wire:
- John Skelton vs. the Browns
- Seneca Wallace at the Cardinals
- Dan Orlovsky vs. the Titans
- Tarvaris Jackson at the Bears
- Kellen Clemens vs. the Bengals
I'm looking for highest possible upside regardless of risk. Leaning towards Orton right now. I think Moore may have the better day over Fitzpatrick offensively while still getting sacked all to hell due to his lack of pass protection. Quality QBs like Romo & Vick have had bad days against the Fish of late. Only the Raiders down to 3rd string receivers and phoning it in for the rest of the year have had a poor offensive showing against the Pack. Opinions?
Specifically seeking advice from Rinker as I'm sure he wouldn't be terribly upset if my team somehow pulled off a miracle this weekend.
