The act of tanking itself is not looked up kindly by the fantasy gods. Even though you're playing the same team, you still pay the price :p

ugh...gonna take a few months to appreciate fantasy football again. DeMarco's ankle...clean sweep playoff losses in all leagues. I guess it hurts more that Titus Young cost me a bye that would have kept me going another round but...

Don't fret. Those fantasy football fires will undoubtedly be stoked again come July. And hey, at least you won last season.

I expect to join you in vintage nailbiting fashion tomorrow night.

After?

Do it now!!!!!!

j/k

I'm alittle depressed just lost Jennings for the rest of season in my big money league. Im stuck using Burelson from now on(players on Free Agent are 4th-5th stringer). And my other small money league I lost Murray for the season and dont know if A.P. gonna play again this season

This is the fun part of the night where exactly 34 yards out of Brandon Lloyd could simultaneously save my NQ3 season while ending my Economy League season.

Of course, we all know Steven Jackson will break out a big run in the 2nd half to simultaneously kill both matchups. Let's sit back and watch what happens. :)

OH MY FUCKING GOD IF LIB WINS THIS...
I'm going to get hosed my some last-minute garbage time score. Bank on it.
This is just the part where I get teased.

In fact, in absolutely poetic fashion... you know who's going to cost me this matchup?
The same guy that cost me that loss in Week 1 by having faith in him.
LANCE F'ING KENDRICKS!

Full circle baby.

Unreal. Plax and Finley really screwed Sumidor lol
Not happening. I'm so losing this matchup.

EDIT: Looks like that Lloyd reception means I can absorb a TD.
But I CAN'T absorb a TD plus 2-point conversion.
Wouldn't that be a painful way to lose? I think Kendricks can catch a 2-point conversion.

This may come down to corrections, but Primetime had alot of dead weight on his roster. Deji Karim, Mike Thomas, and one of the hit-or-miss Saints WRs...

Starting Ricky Williams with Ingram out? Keliand Williams was an option. Chris Ivory would've made a decent handcuff. Jacquizz Rodgers even (Turner nicked up). Even D.J. Ware if Bradshaw was nicked up.

Heck, Finley has been very hit-or-miss and could've been benched. Raiders have been decent vs. TEs.

So nice of the Seachickens to pad their offensive stats like that.
Time for the Rams garbage time drive. Would love a Pick-6 right now.
I'll settle for a bomb to Lloyd, too.

WOO WOO WOO! YOU KNOW IT!

The Broskis just pulled off a fantasy Tebow.

Props to Sumidor's PrimeTime for giving my team an unbelievable tumultuous Week 14 run.

I'd also like to congratulate TheApatheticOne.
While I beat him in the Economy League this week by an even more narrow margin than my NQ3 win he still advances to the playoff rounds due to his team's higher "points for" tally.
Go kick some butt with the Knights in the semifinals!

Corrections. I've been reading alot how Yahoo's STATTracker borked.
Yeah, I'm not ruling that possibility out. I still think they gave Fitzpatrick too many points.
EDIT: Oh wait, that last pick was thrown by Thigpen. No wonder I didn't take a hit for that.

If the scores hold up, I draw FirstPlaceLoser next week in what will hopefully be another week free of Adrian Peterson.
FPL will have the opportunity to avenge his Week 6 loss to the Broskis.
The other semifinal showdown will go down between Good As Gould and Dinner Out. Dinner Out defeated Rinker's team in their first meeting... also in Week 6.

Oh well. I'm surprised I even made it to the playoffs. Of course the Seachickens would screw me, my hatred for them grows even more.

Thank you sir! Good game, that's the second game I've lost this season by less than a point. I can't believe I made it. Got Good As Gould in the first round, gonna take a miracle to win that one starting two Rams! lol

Best of luck in the NQ league!

Re: Economy League

Ha! I hadn't noticed before looking at the playoff matches this morning that winning one's division meant nothing in this league. The seeding looked funny to me last week but I didn't put two and two together, or either I thought the seeding would sort itself out "correctly" (based on me assuming division winners made it) at the end of the season. Guess I shoulda gone into the league settings and noticed where "Playoff Seeding Options: All teams seeded according to overall standings" was selected. Even then Yahoo settings can be confusing unless you have all the choices in front of you to look at. [/ramble]

And here I was all worried if I lost and Knights won his match I'd get bumped (both of which nearly happened).

BUT I had no need to be nervous, I was in even with a loss this week and Knights winning -- unless someone outscored me by ~85 points.

Let's see... I draw D-Mac this week. I don't have a good feeling about this one with Newton and Lynch having tough matchups for me. Losing Jennings hurt, but maybe I'll get lucky and Gaffney catches a TD against the crappy Giants Pass-D.

Mac has dream matchups for his RBs and for Tebow. I think I'll be lucky if it's as close as what the projections currently say. But whatever, anything can happen!

Should be a fun week if both playoff matches are as close as what Yahoo thinks. Good luck everyone

Good fortune aside I can't envision a scenario where I manage to topple FPL in the semifinals. Not with ADP coming back, Jennings going down, Big Ben going down, no decent QBs to pick up (shakes fist at minx88 for having Locker on his roster for some reason) and the Raiders continuing to lie about McFadden's health.

I've pretty much resigned myself to playing for 3rd place barring a miracle.

... this game is unfair sometimes...
Sometimes? Dude, this game is unfair ALL THE TIME. It's the very nature of fantasy. If the game was fair than one would be able to quit their jobs and just kick ass in money fantasy leagues all the time knowing the best fantasy players would come out on top.

I'm going to do something unprecedented in this thread post-waiver run tomorrow and ask for suggestions on how to assemble a team that can possibly hope to pull off a miracle win and dethrone the almighty FPL this weekend.

My lineup right now consists of the following:
WR - Mike Wallace @ San Francisco
RB - Ray Rice @ San Diego
TE - Rob Gronkowski @ Denver
DEF - Green Bay @ Kansas City

The remaining 5 spots that will decide my team's fate remain fluid and to be honest I'm not sure there's a move I can reasonably make from the assortment of options on the wire & my bench to take down FPL's assortment of fantasy monsters. I've got nothing to lose by trying, though.

(Also, I'll pre-emptively shake my fist at any teams from the Consolation bracket who elect to make waiver pickups overnight tonight.)

In the semifinals and its looking like anyone can win this matchup. Need some serious fantasy advice on who to start: Cam or Brady? Cams been on a serious role over the last few weeks and in general he scores more points than brady, but he's facing Houston, so I'm not sure how he'll do. Brady against Denver seems like a no brainer, but since Tebow has been tebowing, many teams that face the broncos don't put up too many points, so it might be a low scoring affair.

Which should I start Gaf? My Fantasy championship is on the line

Just read about how the Packers are relieved that Jennings will miss "only" 2-3 weeks.

Small consolation for his fantasy owners.

I vote for BRADY. (Team Tebow will win this weekend but Brady should be the better fantasy play over Cam.)

If you had to pick two out of the following: Chris Johnson, Roy Helu, Ahmad Bradshaw, Willis McGahee, C.J. Spiller, who would you pick?

A I had him on my team because I was facing Good as Gould the week after hassleback got injured. And I thought I might be facing him in the playoffs so I wanted to roster his backup QB.

It was a smart pre-emptive pickup. No harm in making those when you've got available roster space (i.e. not carrying dead weight injured RBs like McFadden and Starks).

To play this weekend?

Well, CJ1K is clearly a must-start against the woeful Colts... especially with Ringer ruled out and only Jamie Harper in reserve.
As for the other running back... I'd roll with Helu. If you're playing on ESPN, consider starting Spiller out in the WR slot as well.

ok some RB help
Im using 2 of them
M Bush vs Det
Bradshaw vs Skins
SJax vs Cincy
I find it awfully hard to trust Bradshaw in any scenario right now.
At least when you have serviceable other options.

Bush is a veritable RB1 this week (as McFadden would be if he didn't suck).
And the Rams are likely to lean on SJax again with their continued QB troubles.

Not only will FPL destroy my team this weekend but frankly he deserves to.

First off, his draft was amazing.

The 1-2 punch of ADP and Shonn Greene via his optimal 1st overall draft slot couldn't have worked out better. Greene caught fire right when ADP went down with his injury; you couldn't have asked for a better fill-in.

Not only is Sanchez a Top 10 backup but he scored a coup by snapping up Cam Newton in the 13th round long after I was making illustrious pickups like Arrelious Benn and Lance Kendricks.

He drafted Welker and Nelson as optimal WR mid-round values that paid off. He even hit with Sproles smelling value with his new stomping ground in New Orleans and calmly waited on a defense before grabbing the Ravens in the 8th round.

Finally, despite boasting terrible waiver priority all season long due to his team trailblazing its way to the league's top record and "points for" total he managed to score with his shrewd free agent pickup of Victor Cruz before he blew up in Week 3 against the Eagles. Silly to think that nobody else thought a starting Giants receiver would have value after Manningham and Hixon went down the year after three Giants receivers commanded value. I suppose we were all buying into the Eagles defense still at that point.

I'll do my best to find some way to defeat him just like I did in Week 6 but if I do it will be the fluke to end all fluke and an absolute travesty of fantasy justice. FPL deserves better than that and should be rewarded with a trip to the finals in just a few short days.

I passed on Sproles despite wanting to pick him. For Devin Hester.

DEVIN HESTER.

... jeeeeesus

I did. I took Hixon (got hurt) and then took Brandon Stokley.

BRANDON STOKLEY. And I'm a Giants fan so I knew the WR situation before anyone else.

When the season is over and I potentially get fired by upper management, it probably won't be because of drafting Vick in the 1st or undervaluing RBs in a 16-teamer. It'll be for not being consistent. Aggressive one day, passive the next.

I had a disaster of a season in both leagues, but the Econ League hurts. I will hate DeSean Jackson for the rest of my days. McFadden at #11 looked so good for the first few weeks and ended up ruining me. Dwayne Bowe ended up the victim of a horrible, horrible offense. And my one pick that looked like fantastic value, Kenny Britt, ended up getting injured in the third game.

Hopefully I'll do better next year.

At least you know you'll be back next year. I might get fired. FIRED! They got Sparano and Haley, I might be next!

I have interesting flex choices in both leagues for pretty much the first time...

For some reason I feel like getting cute and playing my guy kahlil bell over manningham ... and in the econ league I have to decide between law firm, bradshaw, or ryan grant. I'm probably going with Bradshaw there after noticing that grant was only 9 for 38 excluding his one big run.

I'm hoping its common sense, but just thought of something else - Just so its out there before it happens, I think the teams that lose in the main bracket this week should NOT be locked as the 3rd place game is still important the following week.

I'm unlocking everyone with a match. Sorry GM but even the guys doing shitty "who's 5th" or whatever should still get to set lineups. You can lock us after.

Nice start with Roddy
WOOOOO
We bitched about that PrimeTime trade for good reason.
Two scrubs for Roddy White was just downright criminal.

You'll have to teach us the secret of fleecing next season. Because your shrewd gambits that kept getting bites is about to land you in the title game facing FPL for all the marbles. :)

It's easy to forget that outside of Week 3, Roddy was looking like a huge bust (for his draft position) for most the year. He didn't really start earning his draft slot until Week 11.

Holmes and Bush for McFadden is just ROFL worthy in retrospect.

I only locked the ability to add/drop players so folks still in the hunt have more flexibility on waivers. Rosters can still be altered
