i think iPhoto or apeture 2.0 if you want to make a book with your mac. But of course there are many online print services where you can make a photo book too.

A few pickups....

Decided to replace my old headphone amp with the little dot mkiii tube amp. I have the AKG701, and tubes were recommended to me instead of my solid state amp. We'll see how it goes.

Thats the phone I just got offered as an upgrade. How is it? Any impressions of it appreciated

Mine was an upgrade too, since I finally managed to snap my X820 in half after 2 years and needed a new slim phone. It's actually the same size as the LG Prada but has a slightly wider screen, 3G video calling, 5 Megapixel camera with a flash and a MicoSD slot , all in a nice slim package. The phone it self is made from metal and is brushed on the back so I hopefully wont get this snapped in half. If you can upgrade to this phone and nothing else tickles your fancy I'd recommend it to you.

How much did that phone cost ya?

the upgrade cost me 145 English Queen heads (or £145)

This thing is amazing. I just finished replaying Crysis, now that I can play it on high. Be forewarned, this thing runs really hot.

I'm pretty sure that I have posted one of these before, but with all the arcade stick love and in prep for the rush of fighting games, I might as well. The Hori Real Arcade 3 has had all the buttons replaced with official Sanwas, a massive improvement. The Hori Real Arcade 2 has had the joystick replaced with a Seimitsu and the buttons are all Sanwas. I also picked up a PS2 to PS3 adapter made by Real. Absolutely zero lag! Very happy especially for 10 bucks.

LG Voyager, might sound funny but it's the best phone I've ever had. Doesn't drop any calls. Touch screen is fun, nice big screens.

the other new thing in the pic is the surround sound system. all you can see is the receiver and maybe one speaker. Came with 5 and subwoofer. I'm not thrilled with it just yet because it's pretty limited in how you can hook it up to things; too many outputs and not enough inputs. But, that's also a problem with my tv as well because it doesn't have enough outputs ;/

overall, sounds very good hooked up the ps3 with HDMI video and regular RCA for audio.

Very nice buy. I bought the same (not piano though, couldnt find it anywhere :/) a couple of months ago, one of the best buys I've done in a long time. I love the clean minimalist design. :)

Looks fantastic. Colors have a whole lot more weight and density. Don't listen to the reviews that state this as a negligible update over the DVD. Looks magnificent at 1080p!

no optical?

well ps3 has the digital optical audio, so I could run that. But, my TV doesn't have optical. Although, it does have digital audio coax. I was told I could just use any RCA (red, white, yellow) cable from my tv's digital audio out to my receivers digital tv/video in and it would work. But, it didn't. So, either I do in fact need a digital coax cable, or there's no way to do it with my tv. Any ideas?

Wired.

That is awesome! Nice book! I want to do something like that now!

Yes, the REAL converter is the truth. How did you hear about it?

sorry, I just meant you should connect the PS3 to the receiver using the optical output instead of composite (RCA red & white).

dunno the coax stuff, really :(

Congrats, I have the red debut III, as well as a Pro-Ject RM10 but i'm selling the RM10. Even though the RM10 is almost 10 times the price of the debut III, I actually like the debut III better. Go figure.

Would have got the iPhone, but am still stuck on Verizon for at least another year. Having a physical keyboard is a huge plus though.

Any RCA cable will work for digital coax, so you don't absolutely have to buy a new one.

Check your TV settings to make sure it is set up to pass the digital audio signal through to the digital audio out, also make sure the receiver's input is set to receive the same type of output, whether PCM, bitstream, DD or what have you.

If the TV isn't passing it through, or the receiver is looking for PCM while the TV is sending bitstream, it won't work.

Ultimately though, don't worry about running the audio through the TV. Thats the whole purpose of having the receiver. Run everything through that.

Well what I'd like to do is just have everything hooked up to my TV but utilize the surround sound. Maybe I'm going about it wrong.

I'm not sure if my TV has enough outputs to do that though. It only has the digital audio coax, and when I connect that to the receivers digital coax, I get nothing. Maybe it's the settings like you said. I'll have to check.

With the price drop came a price drop on the used 360s. Luckily, a brand new Elite was taken in at work (GS) and I scooped it up for $215 total. Picked up some games too (Blue Dragon and Crackdown are used, but I've gotten good at peeling off stickers).

Now, this next batch isn't exactly a "pick up" but more of a "find." I found my old Dreamcast after seemingly losing it for quite awhile. Here's my collection:

Ahh, ok cool...

If you read my review for it, did you find it helpful? ;)

I did. I had a hell of a time looking for something that would match the Pelican and be easily purchased. User reviews of these kinds of products are hard to come by, so finding one is very helpful. Thanks.

Hook everything up through the receiver and turn the TV speakers off. In an ideal world, there should only be one video cable going to your TV, the receiver should be taking care of everything. I don't know the I/O on that receiver or what devices you are feeding into it though, so I can't tell you exactly how to hook it up for best results.

My setup currently is a bit suboptimal, as i have more video sources that my receiver can switch, so I have to hook some directly to the TV so the video and audio have to be switched separately. My harmony remote makes it just as simple as if the receiver was doing it all though, so I don't mind.

Nice PC you got there I have the same case and its brilliant for what its worth

Yeah, I picked it up for 69.99 + tax. Definitely much better than the $40 Thermaltake case I almost got. I kind of wish I would have gotten a smaller case though, because this thing is huge. Next time I build a computer I'll have to keep that in mind.
