If he was Canadian, he wouldn't have to go into life crippling debt to pay for his old man medication.

Sounds like something a little chinese man would say to me, not a rich pimp, I am disappointed.

Is there an achievement for buying boosts instead of playing that god awful game?

Lol. RB style achivements.. Buy my songs and youll get 5 gamerscore!
Lol I wouldn't mind that. I end up buying all my boosts every year, it's well worth it for me to not have to play 800 games and win 20000 fights in the first half of the 2nd period.

I think I've resigned myself to just buying one of the stupid skater packs this year. Sigh.

They do certainly seem better/easier than NHL 12. Not that I don't like a challenge, I just couldn't be bothered to try and get them all like I had previous years.

There was no challenge in a lot of them. All the points ones were just fucking grinding. Be A Pro gets boring after about 6 games. No way I'm playing 10-15 seasons of that shit.

That's what I meant by challenging. You could speed it up with the sliders, like I think? you tired. I did that as well, but it was still way too long of a process.

Same could be argued about your point total in EASHL. All games are a waste of time when it comes down to it.
I'm more referring to people who play games they don't want to or like just for achievements. Seems stupid, if you enjoy the game then whatever.

:lol at Marvie's ban

edit: I hope dmen aren't getting hosed by all the offensive upgrades, I mean at the stick checking features needed to be better, but in the video it doesnt look different.

Sucks that I lagged out in my last game there but good night overall. Although when the teams got better my stick check went downhill. It's like my stick got replaced with Marvie's and i was taking penalties on everything in my stick lifting path.

I'll be on tomorrow, back from family shit, be nice to get some games in.

ggs, we piled up the W's again tonight and had some clutch OT wins

Show, Swim, and other offending D-Men here are some diagrams about what I was yelling about tonight. I've noticed the weakside D-Man has had some poor positioning leading to some bad goals given up, here is what will help prevent these:

Exhibit A: Puck is down along the boards of the right side. RD(yellow) decides to go out and pin the guy or harass and try to get the puck. If the picture, LD(teal) goes down and helps him. DO NOT DO THIS!
ugly.jpg

Your job while the strongside D "attacks" is to sit on the corner of the strongside of the net and stay at home. You do this for 2 reasons, with this positioning you can block most cross creases before they make it to the receiver by slightly adjusting your position and more importantly you hold a strong position in case the puck carrier slips past and walks to the net. See below for correct positioning
good2.jpg

Exhibit 3 is another case of bad positioning that I have noticed happening. In this example the weakside defenseman decides to play back directly on top of the farthest cross crease receiver while the strongside D-Man is "attacking" the play. In this case even if there is a guy camping out over there, you need to be on the strongside of the net where you will be able to block the pass with even more effectiveness. If the puck carrier slips by somehow and walks to the net you usually cannot get there in time to deny him a good shortside shot.

Moral of the story, you need to be aware of your D partner and move in pairs. If the puck goes out to the side boards or anywhere behind the net, one D-Man should always be sitting on the strongside corner of the net. If the puck carrier walks in, just stick lift him when he gets there and he wont be able to get a shot off. If he's looking for a cross crease, adjust your position as needed but stay as close to the net as possible so they cant slip a pass in underneath/behind you.

Too much writing. You could have just said when one D-Man goes after the puck, the other should hold LT and stay on the strong side of the net and added 1 picture. Besides, I think this mistake only happened once last night. Good point though and from now on you address people by their names just like you addressed me and swim right now. Aint no shame in that, you want everyone to get better, you start calling people out when they mess up.

Good job on the wins by the way. You 3 did well up front, and most importantly TOA was top notch. Swim and I weren't involved because you 3 didn't pass with the exception of Marvie. I also saw too many forced cross-creases that were intercepted. That's fine mistakes happen, I made them myself last night trying to force the puck up the boards. Keep in mind though, we get matched up against a good team that uses all 5 of their players including their DEFENSEMEN, we're history.

Oh but wait, this is not gonna happen because we keep running from good teams. Marvie, this better stop come nhl 13. I am not running come September or I'm not playing with your line. You have 5 good players and a human goalie, you play anyone and everyone. You wanna be the best, you have to beat the best.

Here is some inspiration for all of you: Montage Moment a PRO team beating the #1 overall team in EASHL "Timbits Hockey". 5vs5 with a goalie on each side.

...mostly bullshit...

let me be more concise this time:

-the issue with the weakside defensemen's positioning did not just happen once last night. It cost us at least 4 goals last night, and is happening on a regular basis, especially when I am not playing D-Man, if you care anything about keeping pucks out of the net you and everyone else should pay attention to this.

-we are gonna keep scouting because matchmaking doesnt work. Maybe this will change next year if the "improvements" are true, but I doubt it. We haven't really been ducking a lot of teams lately anyway, there's plenty of other shit to give Marv besides this.

-we aren't playing with goalies all the time now or next year. I am not a believer that we will ever be better off with a manual goalie in net, ESPECIALLY for NHL13 after seeing the gameplay footage from NHL13. I don't mind some guys playing every once in awhile especially if we are full, like we have been, but I care about winning the game, and not how many XP points we get for your e-penis. There will be no mandate to play 6v6 to get XP now or next year.

-and related to the point right above, WE ARE NOT, AND WILL NOT BE A TOP 100 CLUB despite all your motivating speeches and brilliant ideas. We simply do not have the talent and this false since of hope you have is simply that the EASHL is making us look good right now because its sooo watered down. Prove me wrong, but first go out the club page and look at our record and our ranking, we have 40+ losses this month and we are near the top of the Elite. Do you really think this will be the case come this fall.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't want to lead you on Show, this is the reality of it. Next year is probably going to be similar to this year. We are a Top Pro team borderline Elite team at best. When the big boys come back to play with their "systems" and "plays" and better overall talent across the board we will get put back in our place. We aren't your ticket to glory, so you might as well start dreaming of other shit, like Tali.

It cost us at least 4 goals last night?? We played 7 games and we won all 7. We probably conceived 8 goals if not less and you're blaming ME for 4 of them !!!??? You're blaming me for at least 50% of the goals last night?? What the hell is wrong with you old man?? Stop trying to find shit because I'm gonna call you on it. I only admit being positioned wrongly on ONE of them. One which you didn't even have the balls to say who it was until I told in-game. Only then you said my name. Really? So when and where exactly did the other 3 happen? Were you shy about calling those out too??

4 goals?? You're pathetic man. Too bad this game doesn't record all 3 periods otherwise I'd put you in your place. And what did you do all night??? Who set you up for all those goals you scored?? It's not a one two game you know. All those passes initially came from a D-man. Either me or Swim set you up so you can dance around like a ballerina around shitty teams that we specifically CHOSE to play.

One more thing, you just called this entire team garbage in your last 2 paragraphs. You said that we're gonna be crap come NHL 13 when all the good teams start playing again.

Those words might not bother anyone else on here but they bother me because I don't think that way. Neither does Marvie when he rages and quits out because we're losing. Neither do you when you spend all this time trying to point out what we're doing wrong and how we can improve. Neither does Legit when he talks about chemistry and neither does SWIM when he gets frustrated and leaves.

Now does that look like a team of fat guys who gather around the tv to dunk nachos and play madden all night?? Or does that look like a team that wants to win and beat the best??

Man up and get positive. If anyone should be believing around here, its you.

If you wanna talk further, you message me on xbox live when I get online. You and I will go into a party and I will tell you everything I said on here. This conversation is over.

Am I the only one picturing show throwing the mic to the ground after that, rap battle style? Yes/no?

...more hot air

Learn how to read, I called our club's skill level "a top Pro level team and borderline Elite", there ain't no shame in that.

I think the people that have put in the time and built the foundation of this these club into a winning team in the past 2 years know what the deal is, rather than some hotshot who has been playing with us for the past 2 or 3 months...

If you seriously want us to be a REAL top level club, I'm gonna give you the blueprint and you go ahead and organize it since you are the great proven leader:
  • First off, there is a lot more involved than just playing with a goalie every game my man.
  • Right now, we play almost every night. Well guess what? You will need to find a way to double that, so we will probably need a dedicated daytime or late afternoon "line" of players to play when all the rest of us are at living in the real world going to school/work.
  • And it has to be a good one too, as a top Level Elite team only loses less than 10 games out of 100 each month. Our margin for error is slim to none. So our B team that we don't even have right now will need to keep pace with our Top 5 or 6, who haven't even demonstrated we can consistently win against quality competition.
  • Then you have to organize practices on a regular basis to hone everyone's skills and work on our weaknesses. Problem is, you can't even admit you your own weaknesses, so how you are you gonna help others.
  • We also need to install at least a simple offensive system with at least 3 offensive plays built into it, so our pretty simplistic offensive approach evolves into more than forcing cross crease passes or getting lucky breakouts/breakaways.

When you find 12-15 gaffers who are very skilled and would be down for all of that, let me know. At the end of the day Show, all this shit is, is A GAME. No need for you to come here and put down people because we aren't helping you fulfill your wild fantasies. This club was here way before you will probably be around way after you come and go.
