Gaaraz said:Have to say, as a browser Grazing is quite damn incredible! Being fussy I wish it...
1) had Reader or equivalent
2) saved to Diigo or Evernote
3) had a scroll to top/bottom gesture
But still, the awesome full screen mode, quick menu and gestures make it a real winner for me. Love it, thank you!
Had this on my Wish List, and your post made me go back to check on it, only to realize that it's now free! Picked it up, it's a TON of fun!Leona Lewis said:Also, if you're into augmented reality, I highly recommend Duck Hunt AR. Considering it blatantly swipes sprite data from the NES game, I'm not sure how it's still on the App Store after all these months. But nonetheless, it's simple, fun, and a killer time sink too

Marty Chinn said:I really wish Apple would let go of controlling the default app for things. I know it'll never happen, but I wish we could define what app is used for the camera, or the browser. One of the best part of the iPhone is how things are integrated together but not being able to set what app you use in certain situations hurts that integration. It just sucks in cases like not being able to set the camera icon at the lock screen to launch Camera+ instead. Kinda kills the usage of it if I can't have access to it quickly.

linkboy said:I've been doing the same thing and I've yet to find a browser that I really like (really wish Apple would just suck it up and let Opera port Opera Mobile over).
I'm currently using Atomic and its passable (loathe the icon though).
acheron_xl said:I've been slavishly using Atomic since the day I got my iPad. I had it on my phone first, but I don't really do much browsing, so it didn't get used much until I got a bigger device. Now I can't imagine not using it. Safari is just garbage in comparison.
You're right about that icon though. It could stand a simpler reboot.
ShowDog said:Why is AvPlayer HD, an iPad only app, listed over Airvideo which works great on iPhones as well as iPads? Are people voting on these?
Cyan said:So, question/clarification. Does Instapaper let you mark articles on your computer, which get sent to your iPhone or whatever? Or do you have to find the articles through your phone?
EmSeta said:Here's another request for the best VNC app.
I've heard good things about iTeleport, but it's rather expensive.
Cool! Sounds like a buy.KTallguy said:You can mark articles to read later from your phone or your browser. The article is then converted to a text only format (with some images, depending on the website formatting). Then when you use the Instapaper app, it syncs the text articles to your phone. If you have the free version it syncs the latest 10. Once the sync is complete (5 seconds), you can read the article anywhere you want.
If you archive the article you're reading, it will be replaced by others in the queue, and synced at that moment.
I use parkbud. Really nice design either for meters parking (built in timer) or just remember where you park. Used the built in GPS and lets you take a reminder picture and I believe you can add notes as well.RoodyPooUS said:what is the best parking app, I want to be able to just push a button that says i parked here, and optionally add any details such as the parking lot floor area, then it will give me directions back using gps directions.
G-Park is the one that Apple used on their adverts a couple of years back, if that helps. (Parkbud sounds a lot better though!)RoodyPooUS said:what is the best parking app, I want to be able to just push a button that says i parked here, and optionally add any details such as the parking lot floor area, then it will give me directions back using gps directions.
Very good question, I'll sort that now.ShowDog said:Why is AvPlayer HD, an iPad only app, listed over Airvideo which works great on iPhones as well as iPads? Are people voting on these?
Sounds very good, thank you, it's in the OP now!DopeyFish said:SplashTop <snip>i recommend it to anyone who has a computer on all the time and needs a VNC to do quick things with relative ease. I bought the apps at regular price and do not regret it at all.
Quite simply - the interface. It has all of the features that those browsers have (great search, sharing, adblock, full screen, private browsing) but the interface is absolutely sublime. The gestures are a lot smoother than the two apps you mentioned, and it really looks and feels so unbelievably polished.DeathbyVolcano said:What exactly puts Grazing over iCab or Atomic? Grazing Browser has a scrolling feature in the iPad version. Perhaps if you stress the importance to the developers they'll figure out a way to bring it to the iPhone app.Gaaraz said:@Greyface - wow, incredible! Thank you. Really loving Grazing (have added it to the OP, it's by far the best of the browsers I've used so far) and some of those workarounds will really help me out. It's a shame there's still no easy scroll to functionality, since it is quite fiddly to load bookmarks and select from there, but really not the end of the world.
I've now set it so that if I hold and tap left, it goes to the top of the page, hold and top right, it goes to the bottom of the page.1. Using the Thumbpad overlay (tap with 3 fingers to show it) - swipe up then tap for scroll-to-top, swipe down then tap from scroll-to-bottom.
2. Through gesture customization - You can assign the "scroll-to-top" and "scroll-to-bottom" action to any gesture. Just to go Settings -> Gestures

I also searched for it directly on my iPod touch 4g in which it came up as WhatsApp inc., and when I clicked that it couldn't be found.
Has this been removed or discontinued or something?
Oh yeah. I completely forgot about the thumbpad x_x. I use the slipepad scrollbar in the iPad version.Gaaraz said:Sorry, yeah that was actually what I emailed about, at which point they told me there were two ways to do this:

Feels so damn intuitive, easily the best browser I've used.

Whatsapp isn't available for the iPod or iPad. It's onlycolinp said:What country store are you in? Here is the US store link...
It's called WhatsApp Messenger, so do a search for that. It IS by WhatsApp inc., so maybe it isn't available on your countries store...?
I meant allowed by WhatsApp Inc not Apple, I don't think Apple is responsible for this restriction :/Gaaraz said:Odd that Whatsapp isn't allowed on iPods? I'd have thought that'd be a perfect solution for people to message friends without paying the extra for a phone... although I guess that's exactly why Apple did it
Also yup, I couldn't get the thumbpad solution to work unfortunately (my own fault, I'm pretty sure) but if I'm honest, the two finger alternating tap to go top/bottom of the screen is a much nicer solution for me. The browser is almost perfect, just showed a couple of people here how it works and they were just as blown away as I was, and got it right away.
I'm glad you recommended it! Seriously is such an incredible app, and so much better than the other browsers I tried (all of the main ones, fwiw)Greyface said:I'm glad to see more people try out Grazing Browser. Can Feedly hook up with your Google Reader account the way Reeder can?Gaaraz said:Feedly is much better than Reeder (and free) and Calvetica/Grazing are much better than their stock equivalents too.
I certainly wouldn't say it was slower, but I haven't done any speed tests.JasonMCG said:I'd like to know this as well. I want to try Grazing, but if it's slower than Safari, I'll pass.
Price is a big factor though, and imo will do what probably 90% of users want from it. Makes sense to try that before splashing out $9.99 on Beejive. I'd argue the interface is much nicer too.Marty Chinn said:That article seems to imply that the best part about it is it's free, not that it's better than the paid options.
It sure can, it integrates really nicely, and keeps a track of what articles you read, and I believe prioritise articles based on your reading habits quite smartly. Definitely worth a try since it's free.Cyan said:Can Feedly hook up with your Google Reader account the way Reeder can?
Battleheart is great, but maybe not quite what you're after. Chrono Trigger is a must, Chaos Rings (also by Square Enix) is worth a look though, maybe Secret of Mana, Mage Gauntlet, and for something a bit different - Squids!ronito said:So any good actual games. I can't recommend Aralon enough. And Dungeon Hunter 2 is Gameloft's only truly great iOS game. Buy these two if you want something you can sink dozens of hours into.ronito said:So any good actual games. I saw FF I-III and FFT. But I've played those to death already.
