Just finished the anime (THANKS GOD!) and all i feel is fury that i wasted so many hours of my life on this piece of shit.

After seeing this anime being recommended here in neogaf in every anime thread i thought it must one of the goats but boy i was wrong, i don't know where to start but here we go:

- Synopsis:
Neon Genesis Evangelion is an anime series created and directed by Hideaki Anno and produced by Gainax. It's a mecha anime, despite the fact that there are hardly any real mecha in it (the Evas are biological). The main character is a whiny *** *** named Shinji, who is perhaps the most *** character in all of fiction that wasn't written as a deliberate parody (seriously, he makes Sasuke look like Brock Fucking Sampson). There's also a loudmouth redhead named Asuka and an emotionless jailbait girl named Rei who is actually a clone of Shinji's mom (seriously). The series is blanketed with a bunch of random Christian symbolism and references that people have spent years trying to analyze, when the truth is that the writer just added it because Christianity has that "foreign stuff is cool" factor in Japan and it was never meant to mean anything.

- Main Character:
Let me introduce you the whiniest of the whiniest the cry baby Shinji Ikari ladies and gentlemen. There is nothing more to be said he is the king of pathetic and cowardly MC from the very first episode to the fucking end he wasted no time being so pathetic i wished he was real so i could punish him in the face non-stop.

- Story:
What story?!
26 episodes and 2 movies (Yes i had to fuckin watch the post anime ending movies that supposed to fix that shitty ending but nope) and i still don't get what this anime was about heck i had to google an explanation for the show to get an idea of the plot.


- Verdict:
If you haven't watched this anime before and even thinking of watching it DO NOT DO IT! save your self the pain and your time.

- Bonus:
Evangelion in a Nutshell

I still can't understand what people liked in this anime, am i missing something?!

Evangelion's place in history and its outsized cultural impact have log been secured, OP. It's by no stretch of the imagination the worst anime ever, far from it. It's just not to your tastes. Which is fine.

What did you get out of the series? It's possible (likely) you missed quite a bit.
