I haven't gone back to BC. I probably should give it another run.
That said, we need 5 nominations for January 2017, so gentlemen, start your engines and list some off!
Yes! I love NES Metal Gear. Yes more than the MSX version. MSX games are too choppy. And that 80s translation charm - I feel asleep!I nominate Metal Gear.

I can't remember, have we used Whomp Em as a voting choice yet?
Yeah Whomp 'Em is at $41 on average according to Price Charting. Too pricey for us.
We're maxing at $30, for the record.

Battletoads as a suggestion, wow.=O
Time to call around local gamestops to see if they have any in stock
I think employees are instructed to recommend Rare Replay on Xbox One if that happens

I do, I just need to get really good at it as I need to master Stages 6, 7, 9, 11 and the last one, which are all a pain to deal with but I hope I'll manage. You said you would love to do a YouTube playthrough of it. I'm calling your bluff.
I actually dont own Battletoads, time to fiction that.
I dont own Battletoads... I don't know if I want it though. Maybe I'll search for the Japanese version on Yamatoku, "BATTLE TODD".
A friend of mine and I are testing out a podcast about craft beer and retro video games. The basic idea is that we'll pair a beer with a game and then casually chit chat about both as we play. Our test/practice record was with a Houston-based pale ale and TMNT III.
I'm trying to find out if this would be interesting to other people, and if so, what would you like to hear from something like that? On our practice run we just talked about the Konami/Ultra connection, how some companies have similar sounding soundtracks even when using different composers and of course a little bit about the beer (pairing a lighter beer with an action focused game) and a little bit about the brewery it came from.
Yes, you should though prepare for a hard as hell game.I actually dont own Battletoads, time to fiction that.

30 bucks on amazon and can be found 30 or less on ebay on my end.Isn't Battletoada too expensive? Looking like $50+ on eBay to me.
This is true, and I always hit the 3rd rat to beat him, for the 1st 2 rats I don't have to hit them.It should be Battletoads just so we can show people that it's a lot fairer than it's given credit for. You get lots of extra lives, can even build up infinite lives in some places, there's warps, you can hit the rat every time it tries to pass you in the Rat Race to make the stage easy.
We just did Castlevania a while ago. I can beat Battletoads. I've never been able to beat Castlevania. Blaster Master neither. You can't get extra lives in Blaster Master.
I have got to work that into my vocabulary. It just sounds awesome.
Here's what I'm seeing:
Amazon resellers don't post outside of north America.
Lowest price on ebay is US$27.22 plus postage and goes up rapidly from there.
I'm personally okay with it being included, I have a copy
I was just mentioning it trying to keep the price rules on track.
Keep it on there.Do we replace Battletoads on the list?
I like the sound of this. I don't really have any input, I just enjoy both areas your podcast covers. Seems like you have a good basic formula down. Perhaps a comparison of the beer to other beers of the same style could be relevant. Keep us posted.A friend of mine and I are testing out a podcast about craft beer and retro video games. How about Willow.

Unrelated, I think we can all agree that Zelda 2 is a top 3 divisive game for the NES haha
As someone who pairs craft beer and video games ALL THE TIME, this sounds like my jam.
Also, IrishNinja would probably be into this too.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to review our test record today before we decide to post it, we had a problem with the recorder and had to redo it and it really threw off the vibe so we may scrap it and just do a "new" first episode.I like the sound of this. I would nominate Metal Gear from the current list, it would be nice to give it a proper playthrough.
