Some movies I have seen recently:

Walt Before Mickey (Mexico): I really wanted to love this, but it was bad. Mostly because the acting was wooden and terrible. The pacing of the story didn't help matters either.

Ruby Sparks (Canada): Interesting premise (guy dreams up girl and she comes alive) that started off well, but stumbles towards the middle/end.

Megamind (Mexico): What a great surprise this turned out to be. Really enjoyable flick.

Prisoners (Canada): A slow burner for sure. But I thought it was great. Jake and Jackman were fantastic.

We are Your Friends (Canada): Blind pick that turned out to be a good indie flick.




These are not on Netflix, but this thread has talked about them before, and I have at one point or another said I would watch them:

Die Hard: Brilliant action movie. I loved that he did it all without shoes.

Army of Darkness: Definitely see why everyone loves it. It is now my favorite out of the series. Great one-liners too!

I can confirm it's a great series and gets better with each episode. Really well done. Good production values. I'm anxiously awaiting season 2. I'd gladly pay HBO subscription prices to get BBC and see stuff that airs concurrently in the UK. As it is I guess I'll have to wait for BBC America to get it. :/

Thoughts on Seven Deadly Sins ten episodes in aren't much different from the pilot: good premise, has a lot of charm, treatment of female characters is pretty horrible but not a deal-breaker, still not really sure what's going on in the grand scheme of plot.

Catwoman, excellent... another addition for the 'Bad Movie Night' list.

Here in the UK we mostly swapped films I don't care about for more films I don't care about. Who, pray tell, wanted Happily N'Ever After 2? It was bad enough we got the original. Being able to get Treasure Planet and Pulp Fiction without a VPN is quite nice though, and there's a couple of cool documentaries added, too. (Something I noticed a couple of days ago is the UK actually now has over 3000 titles available for streaming, which is pretty cool even if 80% of it is utter crap)

You can definitely tell Netflix is aiming to get a global line-up going when you look at how much overlap there is with a lot of the older series being available in lots of locations.

Just finished Jessica Jones. It was just OK. Felt like it didn't have enough substance, peaked early and kind of kept repeating itself. Daredevil is still king.

Master of None was fantastic, hope they get a second season.

I'm really starting to like movies like these. A few more on Netflix: The One I Love, Upstream Color, Primer, Pi, and In Your Eyes.

I've seen and liked The One I Love so I'll have to check out those other ones. I would add Robot & Frank, even though it's not really sic-fi, as it has the same feel. It's not up for streaming in the US right not but might be someplace else.
