Want to watch an exciting movie tonight and was thinking of watching Ghost Protocol. Is it very good? To give an idea of my tastes, I really liked the first MI but kind of hated the second one. Never saw the third.

I liked GP. It can drag a bit in the middle, but overall, its a good action flick, and a nice addition to the franchise.

Watch the third. It has the best villain of the series.

Ghost Protocol is just a lot of fun. It knows how absurd it is and runs with it.

As someone who hated MI 2 and enjoyed MI 1&3 I think GP was an awesome action movie. It is probably my favorite of the series. The final quarter of the movie was incredibly enjoyable to watch. Really made me wish I had seen it in IMAX. Definitely worth seeing if you want to watch a fun action movie.

Oh snap, I did not notice it's on Netflix. I figured it would have shown up on the GP page. Wow the whole series is.....nice.

Which is more 'serious', in the same vein as the first one, 3 or 4?

3 is definitely the more serious one. Hoffman is so good, he practically makes the movie. Some memorable action scenes as well.

3 it is then. I love the idea of PSH as a villain, too. =)
Hoffman was one of the best and scariest villains in an action film in some time. The final scene with him was a let down, but the entire movie he was a badass. Nothing phased him. He was always in charge.

Ghost Protocol has the better action sequences and is more fun though. But the villain is the weakest of the series.

Whoa, my Netflix PS3 app has changed again this time significantly. I must have been given access to a beta for the next major update. Will post some pictures. You can now change the audio and subtitles without leaving the film.

Same here. I thought it was a general update.

Gamasutra.
I also got the new interface. But this morning was the first one that the kids found no Nickelodeon shows. They were pretty disappointed.

Is there a way to force an episode to fully buffer before pressing play?
I have lowly ADSL 2+ in Australia and it's annoying having the video buffer every 10 minutes, don't want o drop the quality either.

Glad I didn't skip M:I 3 last night, I quite enjoyed it. Hoffman plays a wonderful villain, but I thought he was a bit underutilized. Will probably watch GP tonight.

Just watched Rat Race. Had never seen it before. Funny shit.

That is probably the worst film I have ever seen. It is The Great Race, It's a Mad...... World, Cannonball Run, and Smokey taken to its lowest level. If you enjoyed Rat Race those other four films and their sequels are Citizen Kane by comparison.

I started to watch Scream and a (skippable) trailer for Hemlock Grove played. Is this a new thing? Also I guess Miramax films are only available in 720p. :\

Unblock Us.

$5 monthly. You would be able to switch between regions. You can try them out for a week. So if you don't want to pay, I'm sure you can burn through the series in the week.

Isn't there some other free alternative to unblock us? I remember someone posting about it in the previous netflix thread.

Is there a website which lists the movies which are exclusive to a certain foreign Netflix? I found e.g. 500 days of Summer on Netflix Canada, a lot of Lars von Trier von Netflix Denmark, etc.

Watched me some Ghost Protocol last night. Loved it. Definitely more ridiculous than M:I3, but it was tons of fun. For a number of years now I've been kind of down on stupid action flicks for whatever reason, but it's nice to pull the stick out of my ass once in a while and have some fun with a movie like this. IMDB says M:I5 is due for 2015.....that's good.

And it was great because even the characters knew it was ridiculous, which added to the fun.

"Ethan. The rope is too short!"
"No shit!"

Yeah i would appreciate any links to free alternatives.

I am interested in seeing what UK/Canada has to offer but not interested enough to have to spend more money on top of my netflix subscription.

I use this site to pull data of what movies are available in what regions.

Google 'free VPN'. For the most part, I believe Unblock is the cheapest one. Most tend to be $10/monthly.

Edit - PC mag ran an article a few months back on the top free VPN's.

The difference between unblock.us and VPN examples (as far as I know) is the traffic between you and Netflix, using unblock.us, is direct, while using a VPN, the traffic goes through a remote server, which can limit bandwidth depending on load.

Looks like you need a VPN to access the VPN.

Xzibit would be proud.

I know next to nothing about VPNs so correct me if I'm wrong, but most seem to need to have software running in the background. While unblock doesn't need software.
