Neural Network based Ray Tracing and many other RT patents published by AMD, hinting at future console and gaming technologies

I am looking forward to tech next gen. Devs getting used to real-time rendering and AI generation/solutions while most likely remaining at 4K resolution should mean the best studios produce some really crazy stuff.

But everyone was shitting on the same tech a few months ago when nvidia did it? Even a dude telling me that it's all a master plan for nvidia to sell expensive GPUs? Not to advance the field of graphic rendering of course. Have to wait for AMD for that /s

This is month old news on AMD side too. Nvidia was mentioning this in papers years ago and AMD a while ago too. Everyone is heading to neural rendering. All part of upcoming directX revisions and they all participate in the consortium

PS6? UDNA 1? Exciting for gaming that's for sure!
From my understanding it seems like there is still going to be RDNA5 and CDNA4.

UDNA is more like the unification of the software stack in order to run on both CDNA and RDNA hardware architectures.

We now see both CDNA and RDNA already having nearly similar hardware capabilities now in terms of AI.

So if anything, the PS6 would utilize RDNA5. Which kind of matches the Microsoft leak.

Hoping these technologies are backported to current gen cards as well so we don't end up with an Nvidia DLSS Frame Generation issue that won't run on 30X cards even though it probably could.
