OK, on second inspection many of these are way, WAY overpowered. And some of them are actually pretty cheap, as well. There is a good chance these new runewords will destroy the balance of the game.

I last played D2X about four to five months back but Blizzard deserves a lot of credit for even bothering to update the game in ways like these.

As an example, the Fortitude Runeword for Armor gives a +300% Enhanced DAMAGE bonus. Thats +300% Enhanced DAMAGE on Armor!!!

Also, quite a few of them provide the effect of an Aura when equipped. Now by picking the right helm/armor/weapon for you and your merc you could easily walk around with three or four different auras active, providing a huge bonus. And just think of that effect multiplied by multiple party members...

I still play D2. I also still play DOOM. But I haven't touched StarCraft in something like a year.

All of the new Runewords are ladder only, BTW.

Some of them have odd combinations of abilities. You will see some new builds arise due to them.

Any help for a friend that can't install the expansion pack for Diablo 2? He starts installing, it says to put in the play disc, he does so, and it won't recognize that the play disc is in there. How do we solve this?

I would suspect a bad disk. Contact Blizzard support, they may be able to send you a replacement.
