New English Gameplay of Xenoblade Chronicles X

I tend to prefer voiced mcs to silent protagonists, not that I really mind all that much if a game has a silent protagonist, but what bothers me here is the abrupt pause when Cross has to say anything.

Was the square-tache mention a reference to that dude from Xenoblade, or is that a common thing to say about mustached people.
It was almost certainly a reference to XB by 8-4.

Hnnng that looked amazing. Just 1 more month. One thing I'm wondering though, is there any reason not to constantly use the Skells when you got them? I would asume they have way more attack and defence compared to when you are on foot. I know they can be destroyed, but they still seem overpowered to me.

Besides the fact that using Skells wastes limited fuel, some enemies actually become stronger and more agressive when you use a Skell. While they just ignore you on foot.

You cant destroy specific enemy parts when you are using Skells if I remember right. Besides fuel, I guess that Skell arts have a much bigger cooldown than normal arts, so you lose a lot of maneuverability, and I think you cant do Overclock infinite combo with Skells XD

Some locations and enemies can only be reached and engaged with Skells.

It really is like they took all the things I didn't like about Xenoblade Chronicles and made those elements into their own game. The big empty map and cluttered UI just ain't doin it for me folks.

Looks good. All I want from this game is being able to explore that world for hours and take down gigantic enemies.

It's the complete opposite for me. I loved the original Xenoblade, but since I'm a bit tired of the usual JRPG characters and story, the thing I like the most about XB is the exploration. From what I've heard/read, it seems like XCX tells it's story in a different (and very interesting) way, focusing heavily on the exploration of Mira. It's almost as if the world of Mira is the main character of this game. I'm very, very, VERY eager to try this.

Not sure how I feel about Tatsu's voice. It's definitely not horrible or anything but it's also not Riki's voice where it's so bad that I grew to love it. The rest of the voices are great though!

Hopefully with Fiora's voice being an option we'll also have an option for Shulk or Dunban.

The game looks as gorgeous and epic as always. And the dub seems to be good and some British voices are in, so everything is fine in the world.

Previewers seem to like the game a lot.

One month to go.

Fuck, now I am really hoping that the game has dual audio.

The OST is growing on me. Will have to play it for myself to see if the soundtrack works in conjunction with the cutscenes and gameplay.

I heard it won't have and does it really matter THAT much? Are you playing a game or listening to a radioplay? ;)

Yes, since I am paying for it and I hated the shitty British voice acting in Xenoblade Chronicles.

I rather know now that Xenoblade X won't have Dual audio so I can save myself money and spend it on something else.

You are luck. This game has just tony bits of british voice acting. (And nearly everyone praised the localisation of the first game because it was something different and not those standard US voice actors...)

It baffles me all the time when someone isn't playing a game for such a minor reason, but its your opinion and I'm fine with that.
You just sound so rude because it hasn't dual audio...

Edit: Saw the flighing vid on my TV and it looks so good. Why isn't the game out already? ;___;

Xenoblade X tells its story in a "different way" in the fact that it doesn't really have a story. It's just a series of Space Opera anime cliches in an empty world. Overall it felt more like a Star Ocean MMO than the successor to the best modern JRPG.

Damn :( This was what I was worried about after looking at some streams from JP players earlier this year.

They're customizable.

There's a lot of UI in the screen that they seem to address that with small text. That creates the problem of text being unreadable, though.

I played the game for over 50 hours and the UI never stopped being a terribly crowded mess for me. It's often hard to keep track of what's going on in particularly hectic battles with all of the visual effects and numbers popping off like crazy.

The exploration is fantastic if you're primarily interested in taking in the nice-looking environments and seeing cool monster designs. It's terrible if you actually want to do or find anything of significance from a gameplay or story perspective in those environments.

What are you talking about? The game still has long cutscenes and tells a good story but a lot of it is hidden in the sidequests what is a little bit (absolutly) stupid. But saying its an "empty world" with "no story" is just wrong. The world is as empty as the one of the other Xenoblade. The main content and focus is to explore and engage big enemies. It was the same for Xeno Chronicles...the main difference is open world vs smaller linear worlds which were very story driven. If you're okay with finding your own path Xeno X gives you the freedom to do so.

If you're okay with finding your own path Xeno X gives you the freedom to do so... as long as you fulfill a series of extremely rigid requirements at frequent intervals.

Added a bit to the end of that statement to make it true.

True for you. Not everyone has the same opinion as you. I still think hunting monsters, exploring the world and look for a lot of loot, even if its not important for the story, is something you can truely enjoy even if the game isnt as story driven as the first one. Maybe the game is not your typical JRPG like the first one but its not an soulless MMO like you try to make it...its an interesting mixture of both and has it flaws but there are more than enough things that makes this game special and enjoyable.

So despite having it preordered at a good discount (saving $30), I'm thinking about cancelling. I'm having a case of "this game looks too big & daunting, I think I should just skip it, I have enough games in my current-gen backlog as it is"

Sorry if I come off as rude that was not my intention.

But I didn't like the British voice acting in Xenoblade Chronicles because I live in Britain so they didn't feel different and fresh to me as I could hear those accent by going down to the south of England.

And again it's my money, if I feel that the game isn't worth getting then I am entitled to cancel my pre-order.
