Remember how there was all that controversy in the fall of '06, back when Facebook first implemented the news feed? Now I can barely imagine having to actually manually go to a friend's profile to see what he's been up to.
people hate change, thats all there is to it.Father_Brain said:Remember how there was all that controversy in the fall of '06, back when Facebook first implemented the news feed? Now I can barely imagine having to actually manually go to a friend's profile to see what he's been up to.

No, this was a separate problem called Facebook Beacon which they've pretty much neutered into no longer really existing.Jamesfrom818 said:Wasn't the outrage more about the News feed telling people what you've been doing off of Facebook?
I wouldn't want "James has bought Japanese Schoolgirls Get Raped at Amazon.com" to show up on my friends' feeds.
Same here, I haven't seen anything about a time, just that it's suppose to be today. Hopefully it's soon.SpeedingUptoStop said:Hm, wonder where the change is.
Facebooks blog post on the update notes that the new homepage will be deployed over the coming days, so it may still be awhile before you can try it out for yourself.

Yeah, that was great. I believe the argument amounted to people complaining that it catered too much to Facebook stalkers. "I just posted this freely available information, but I don't want it being advertised that I did it! I want people to have to look for it, otherwise it's just too easy for other people to do exactly what this site was set up to do! They should have to work for it!"Liu Kang Baking A Pie said:The News Feed thing was a huge blowup, and it was hilarious because nothing had changed. They made the site easier to use and had everything show up in one place, and people shit bricks.
Probably waiting for slower traffic, yea.pnjtony said:Mine just updated![]()
I'm on a university network (work). It didn't update this morning and the site has been inaccessible for the past couple hours.StrikerObi said:Facebook rolls their updates out across their networks over time. Mine's changed over, but I'm on a University network. Those are the oldest ones so they probably switch first.
but that already happened without the update!JonathanEx said:Interesting they've changed "What are you doing at the moment?" to "What's on your mind?" however this does mean that the news feed will be full of "Mark is thinking bout tits"
doesn't like facebook changing stuff. LEAVE IT THE WAY IT IS! 18 minutes ago
feels like facebook is losing it identy.... Mark Z this is not Twitter....3 hours ago
WHY DOES FACEBOOK KEEP MAKING CHANGES?!? STOP WITH THE FAILED ATTEMPTS ALREADY.2 hours ago
omg rite said:I annoyed a bunch of people on my Facebook friends list by changing my status to "Jeff can't wait for people to start bitching about a slight change to the homepage, even if it's better, because they are big fucking idiots." One person deleted me. :lol
jonnybryce said:I don't like this too much. It's really busy looking and even for friends I care about, seeing everything they just did back to back isn't too cool. I'd rather see what a bunch of people are doing when I logged on then see two people's history of a bunch of shit.
That's pretty fucking stupid of you to say imo.
