It wasn't a playable demo but a CD-ROM with videos from "Game Players Magazine", I think that was the name of that mag. That magazine spoiled the Aerith death as well as one of the video files. It also showed Neo Bahamut summon during the fight with Palmer in Rocket Town.
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VII_DemoThe Tifa demo released in mid-1997 was the game's second playable demo that originally appeared in PlayStation Underground 2 on a dedicated Squaresoft demo disc. The disc also contained a playable demo of Bushido Blade, as well as video previews of Bushido Blade, Saga Frontier, and Final Fantasy Tactics. Square later re-used this demo disc as their own promotional item.
Both PlayStation demos include the opening bombing mission right up until the explosion. While the Aeris demo was made during an earlier stage of the game's development, having numerous differences, the Tifa version represents the final version of the product, with only minor differences. Additionally, both demos include elements not accessible at this point in the final game, such as already-leveled-up Materia, a summon, and a third party member. The purpose of this is probably to show as many features of the final game as possible while keeping the demo reasonably short.
I think he is just coming to rescue Noctis?
But Noctis' health looks to be avoiding the red. He looks perfectly fine as well.
What does the Ability meter indicate?
Nope there was definitely a second playable demo:

That's straight up bullshit about the Aerith death being spoiled though. What a way to ruin a game. Sadly it was spoiled for me thanks to some stupid rumor going around that she was supposed to be ressurect-able but it was removed from the final game. There was a petition going around asking Square to put that back in for the US release of the game.

Interesting that the bar below Noctis health has various versions: one made of segments (the one we already saw, i guess it's MP), one with a single line and a number (since it's shown when Noct's health is 0, maybe it's like a time limit in which you can save him?) and another one in the screen that shows Gladio hiding from the behemoth, it's again a single line but with no number.
Alright, question about preordering. If I preorder Type-0 HD on Amazon, do they charge your card at that moment? Or when it releases?
Romance Cid option pls
different swords, different abilities, and different bars?
The Jump ability looks pretty good too (I wonder what that white bar is).
Hope we can turn off quest markers.
Oh man that would be a bit too complex lol
I think one is MP, one is revive-timeframe and the other stealth realated?
.
It's what I thought, but idk. Maybe something related to the ability?Enemy health?

Also, is the black or the white that is the enemy's health? If it is the white then Jump doesn't deal much damage at all.
Also, that Luminous scan, that's a lot of grass right there =P
The engine seems more powerful than what FFXV leads me to believe, which already looks amazing in every aspect, I hope they continue to use it.
HP bars deplete from right to left.
Anyway, Jump is pretty weak then.
Looks more like the enemy's crazy big/strong imho
I'm pretty sure that's not the Behemoth on the scan.If the behemoth fell from one jump I would return the demo instantly.
Interesting how you say that with a MGS avatar.I remember when there was a rumor about selling demo.
Now that rumor is true, people are going to buy a demo with a PSP remastered bundled with it.
The characters and creatures look great, but honestly I think the environment looks very much sub-par.
It's a bit empty, colorless, and just feels a bit boring overall.
I also think the graphics don't look that good on these screens from a technical standpoint. The trees look really hideous actually.
I still think the game will look pretty cool, but honestly these screens look a bit shitty.
This is the result of people crying about linearity. That and SE values character graphics over all else as evidence by anything they've done within the last decade.
People are going to complain about anything they do. Making it more linear to have better presentation = people crying about linearity. Making it a huge open world = people crying about how not everything looks phenomenal. Dialing it back and doing something more reasonable for a better general presentation = people crying about it not being "next gen" enough.
I'm honestly not sure if there's a happy medium.

Yep, open worlds are generally are pretty awful like this. It's what happens when area becomes a selling point.
PS: Fuck you, Skyrim. >:|

I was assuming that this was the screen Tabata mentioned where you can pause the game and give specific orders to your party.
Not sure what people are expecting in terms of open grasslands. It looked pretty fantastic before the grass LOD downgrade. These types of environments always give off an empty look, as that's how highlands actually look in the real world. We also have dinosaur sized beasts roaming the land and not all enemy and wildlife placements have been implemented.

I honestly wish people, who say the "looks so barren" comment would actually provide an example of a non-empty grassland, or at least comment as to what they want to see. Looking at this gif, (besides more enemies, which Tabata has already commented on) I can't see what could possibly be "missing" from this environment. Not sure what people are expecting in terms of open grasslands. What is the result ?
You actually acknowledge the saying that this game looks bland and sub-par ? Compared to what exactly ?
