New Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae screenshots

Plus I really liked her development with Hope, I respected the goal she had of saving her sister, I liked her development with Snow. She did some cool shit in cutscenes. I liked her outlook. I just liked her character in that game lol.

Respect? That she wanted to commit mass genocide to save someone who cannot be saved except by divine intervention? Okay...

She had no outlook. She lead the party to their doom. What happened at the end was not planned beforehand. The plan was they were going to kill most people on the planet and then let themselves get off'd because of their "ideals."

Respect is the last word I would use to describe Lightning. If anything she was the real villain of the game that was just talked out of committing mass murder.

Anyways, enough about Lightning and FFXIII. Stop bring her up in FFXV threads. There should be a rule against this.

I actually agree here that Lightning should not be anywhere in the XV world. Her story is over. It's just like how I would not want Tidus or Yuna sphere hunting in Ivalice.

Compared to what we saw here or let's say in Witcher 3 that downgrade is almost unnoticable c'mon. I actually even prefer the lighting (and Lighting) in the most recent version.

Btw... still not type0 up for preorder on the eu psn store. Damn

I don't think so. If you go back to the original trailer, the downgrade was very obvious in FFXIII. The scene with the forest environment looked absolutely nothing like that in the final release. The 'downgrade' here is nowhere near conclusive. It is very likely they took some things out to get the demo running smoothly. It is likely fewer people are going to notice a few missing graphics features vs better performance and full HD. The trade off is absolutely fine with me for now. It is still looks great. I want those things in for the release version though.

I'm fine with it too, it looks stunning even now. And where usually S-E beats the competitors is in the attention to details, animations and overall polish. I'm not concerned.

I really wonder how they'll deal with the car and hitting NPCs/Monsters with it...

So it appears the "Behemoth Hunt Quest" involves the party tracking his location by finding traces of it along the forest. It really looks like the subquests will be closer to what LR: FFXIII and other open world games did before this. Also quest-mark symbol is up there, probably working like in ARR in a way in which you turn it on/off for the quest you're actually following. I really hope the sidequests don't make most of the experience here like in DA: I though, I want FF to be a story driven experience and not a collectible mess.

Happy for how they're tackling the behemoth missions, i guess when they said they're taking inspiration from TW3 they meant this.
I hope all monster hunting missions (if they really are a thing) are gling to be like this.

I'm sure some collectathon/kill x of y quests like DA:I are going to be in there, i just hope they even it with more substantial ones, and even if that's not the case, at least we'll have caves, monster hunts and minigames.

The reliance on AI really has me worried.. In KH the AI was not really needed as damage dealing would always be up the player, but I can just imagine the YouTube video's of the AI being unable to review the player because it is stuck running into a wall or something similar.

You realize Prompto missing, spend 3 hours looking all over for him and then finally figure out he's at the gas station chatting up Cindy.

@VSXIII was looking at the Luminous Engine tech scan, and mentioned the following:

If I read this right, even though party members aren't controllable, you can set party members' AI to act in certain ways during battle.

It says here you can set a 'leader AI,' and then set chains of command for 'team members.'

Ex. # of enemies is smaller than your party, so tell your team members to surround the enemy, and they'll move accordingly.

This is sounding really good. Looks like something more than what we saw in the gambit patent.

He's the guy that get lost at the beginning of The Hangover.

Stop raising my expectations SE.

Surrounding the enemy? I wonder if enemies take more damage if hit from behind or have a weak spot.

sounds great! moving on from the simple "cure if health is X<Y"

We need those too, but the more complex the A.I customization system can be, the better. I hope that if there really is such Gambit system, all the options are available right (or early) at the beginning of the game just like IZJS rather than slowly unlocked throughout the game like vanilla XII.

They likely will. Tabata mentioned he wants the players to think about the directions of attack along with other things. The gambit patent also mentioned similar stuff.

I wonder if the situational party attacks will work in a QTE fashion? Like the noctis and ignis x-strike.

The way I understand them to work is that you will set a condition like, "When Player makes contact with Ignis -- Use X strike". So you'll have to move and chase down Ignis to execute it. You can set other conditions to execute it too, so it shouldn't feel like a QTE.

See this post to refresh on the gambit patent: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=131440820&postcount=138

My guess is that once you are within a certain range with Ignis and he was in standby condition, the option of 'X-Strike' will appear on the UI.

Off road traversal should be kept for chocobos imo.
Even then,we've seen screenshots where the party fights enemies on the actual road itself (so its safe to conclude its not an encounter free zone.)

As for driving in cities, yeah its gonna be challenging.
How do you design something that doesn't allow gratuitous violence yet still fun to use ?

These elements and designs are completely new in a Final Fantasy game.
I actually totally understand why they didn't put the car in the demo.It seems complicated to implement.

I know this might sound crazy but I wouldn't mind random encounters while driving the car (breaking crystal dramatic music plays! Battle is over victory theme back to driving) but that's not gonna happen. The car will probably be only usable on the road and in towns. Also they will probably keep NPC off the streets I mean like crossing across the road and such unless if there's a red light the car cannot proceed. I'm sure we'll see NPC's walking on the sidewalk and all but it's gonna be off-limits so no gta craziness lolz.

At the very minimum there would have to be some collision mechanics to account for other cars that will be travelling along the party on the road.

As for encounters on the road, they could just have some sort of animation of the party automatically jumping out of the car to fight(unless the road becomes a safe zone in the final game)

Can the enemies damage the car ?After all we do have Cidney who can repair our car and it could add interesting layer to the game.

Its definitely going to be very interesting to see how the car ends up in the final versions.

The story was stupid but I didn't take it super seriously. I didn't say her methods were on point, just that I liked the goal, and by outlook I just meant her drive and determination to fight against crazy odds.

I'm not saying you should like her so you don't need to argue with me on this lol I can obviously see why a lot of people don't like her.

I wonder if those translations are about the Gambits or just how the AI behaves when executing your commands =X

I wonder if we'll see this in action in this ATR.

I think so, if it's aimed to showcase commands and possible actions for the player, AI management should be a core element of it.

I wonder if we'll see the whole main menu already.

I don't think any of the menus here (or in the demo) will be final.

They've been saying it's a WIP for a while and it hasn't change almost at all so far.

Anyway, 17 hours, get hype.
