We back, for I don't know how long, I think three episodes.

Megan Fox is back.

S06E11:
Raisin's Back
Nick tries to keep cool when Regan moves into the lot, while Cece and Winston challenge Schmidt's love of electronic dance music.

Episode was good, even if Schmidt's overreaction didn't feel right for him we got a classic Winston Cece mess around. Any episode where Jess is playing it straight is much, much better. Lock down Megan Fox as a series regular already.

I really enjoyed this episode.

I didn't expect the Robby and Jess being related thing. Interesting development.

I also noticed at the end during Nick and Jess' raisin interaction that maybe Jess was noticing how different she and Nick were.

Good stuff, also Nick fake laughing after the falling asleep in the bathroom and saying "can you believe this guy?", really got me.

Solid run of episodes in the new year. Only bad one was last week with the modeling crisis and the guys getting brazilians.

We've gotten Reagan reading the Pepperwood Chronicles, another Cece Winston messaround with the EDM song, Nick and Schmidt and Cece slowly going insane with Aly's family over.

Only part I didn't like about last night was the reveal of Jess and Robbie being third cousins—it was sorta funny but it felt like their breakup became purely about that when it should've eventually centered on them being too similar.

So Zooey's pregnant?

Yeah she was showing in this episode. At first I just thought it was a horrible choice in dress from the costuming team.

It seems like it wouldn't do much more than just push back season 7 a little, we're already half way through this season so she'll deliver in the off season. Wish they'd use it as an excuse to make Megan Fox a series regular but it does look like the show is tettering on the whole Nick/Jess thing again.

Hah,
Gordon Ramsay.

I have to admit that I rarely catch the show nowadays since it's in the same slot as Flash and I don't ever get around to streaming it, but since Flash wasn't on today I caught it, which was perfect given that video someone posted earlier today.

Stay Blessed.

Gordon Ramsay was a weird addition.

Sucks that they're pummeling Reagan to make Nick and Jess look better for each other.

I couldn't handle the Robby/Jess thing the other week. It just felt weird, plus my wife started laughing as I completely lost my shit about the glasses. Jess obviously wears frames with no lenses and all of a sudden they were trying to pretend that they had a prescription. It must be something that Zooey prefers because other characters with glasses have lenses in them (assuming they're plano lenses).

Yeah it sucks. Jess is easily EASILY the worst part of the show.

She really is. I wish she'd have a little less presence and play it more straight, as her quirks are less endearing and more annoying. She's been more or less okay this season but I don't like some of the directions they seem to be taking things.

Winston was the best as usual. "You toe the line between sweetness and insanity." "That's the whole thing." They've really made he and Allie work, and I hope we see more and more of Pedrad as the show goes forward.

Jess is great and that people who watch the show regularly still think she's nothing but infantile quirks baffles me. That was true in season 1 when she sang exponentially more and couldn't say "penis" but she's basically been a female Nick for 3-4 seasons now. Equally baffling to me that you guys seemingly want her to be written out and replaced by Reagan—who only recently upgraded from "non-character played by hot actress" to "mildly interesting and occasionally mildly funny supporting character."

The show has been running on fumes for a couple of years now, but I will miss it if it's cancelled. I just need my dose of Winston.

It had a pretty great run and got better as it went on. I don't mind them stopping while they're still good as so few shows really benefit when they just keep going.

I'd prefer a proper final season, but if they think that this is a suitable ending that's fine. Reagan gonna get shafted tho :(

Winston's wedding for the finale lol

I've really taken a liking to Megan Fox's nonchalant and stoic attitude towards her relationship with Nick. The small falling out in the end with them was really interesting.

Zooey's sub-plot was bleh and Winston's and Aly's subplot was cool.

Is this show really done you guy's eyes?

She's perfect for Reagan. Does the straight woman thing really well, but still has a defined personality and enough character quirks that she's not just a boring side character. I'm really glad they brought her back.

A lot of the Jess stuff this season hasn't really worked for me. I don't think she's a fun character when she's pining after Nick so much. And with that seemingly being the end-game here it's just sort of blah.

It might just be best for the show to end. They've covered a lot of ground to get to a natural ending point and another season might have to run some if that progress back to get another 22 episodes out if it. It's probably for the best.

outside dave!

i loved this one. every character was hilarious and it set up a good endgame for the rest of the season/series. I especially loved how aly was worked in, this was an example of how she would've meshed perfectly with the ensemble if there were going to be more seasons. too bad. "I feel like a single mom in a mop commercial"

idk how I feel about the reveal of Schmidt's first name. it's kinda whatever, considering how built-up it was. his middle name, though, is hysterical.

Loved that song at the end too: https://whimmusic.bandcamp.com/track/small-infinity-film-version

Winnie the Schmidt!?

I really liked the episode. I like everything about this season.

Except that Jess/Nick/Reagan stuff. They just railroaded Reagan and to a lesser extent Nick so hard it was painful to watch. Sort of reminds me of HIMYM's final season (nowhere near as bad) when they just fucked everything to stick with a plan instead of going with what worked and seemed natural. I even liked Nick and Jess and S3 more than most people but this has killed my enthusiasm for those two as a couple. Eh.

I enjoyed calling this show Happy Endings-lite, and this was after I had watched Happy Endings after being introduced to New Girl first.

The sixth season rivals prime Happy Endings in many aspects, with that said New Girl stands on it's own merits quite easily in the last 1-2 seasons.

I've been slowly working my way through my DVRd episodes from this season. Kind of funny that the whole female cast is pregnant (or in the case of Megan Fox, recently pregnant) and the various ways they try to hide their stomachs.

I'm glad that it will get a real finale instead of the sort of ending they got.

S7 will only be eight episodes.

I assume we'll get Winston's wedding, Cece's child birth, maybe Coach back and a Nick and Jess engagement. Wrap up any other loose ends. Happier ending.
