I'm confused. Both of those pics are from GT5?

150+ full-time staff, rest are outsourced modelers.
As for how they're profiting, who knows? They still average 2 million+ sales per game, so it's not that bad.
Not to mention that all things being said, MS is bankrolling them, so they've got little monetary concerns.

They're future proofed, so they're above what the PS3 is actually capable showing (so these are scaled down models compared to the higher end ones that they have)

Im expecting the graphics to match GT6 photo mode.Call me cray cray but a next-gen GT on the PS4 is goin to loook super photo-realistic.
By the by, here's a video from a user on GTP that describes how he believes GT5's sounds are created that causes them to be so poor quality:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HkyrjBbW8I
Basically, it boils down to not using enough samples for each car, and "stretching" the existing samples across too wide a range, which results in the "vacuum cleaner" sound. I'm not sure how much memory these samples take, so it could very well be a memory issue, but it could also be that they simply didn't capture enough loops on the day they recorded the cars.
While I appreciate that the GT series looks amazing, there's got to be more to it than that. It's like Yamauchi simply isn't aware that they sound soooo bad, and that GT's sounds are a laughing stock compared to every other game on the market,
are they still scaled down for photo travel mode?
are they still scaled down for photo travel mode?
I'm not sure, but i'd think so since it still has to fit within the PS3's memory, which really isn't that much at this point. Assets in general these days are typically built to a very high quality and then scaled down to fit whichever console they're going to be on. That's why they really can't have many of them on screen at one time (although they've bumped it up to two for GT6).
Did they remove the 3D from GT6 or is that carried over? I got a 3DTV recently so I would be interested in trying it.
You mean there will be 18 cars on screen in GT6?
are they still scaled down for photo travel mode?

I think people need to be reminded how detailed gt5 photo models are

GT5's photomode cars are still quite low-poly though. But I expect that they were scaled down from better quality ones (If Kaz was telling the truith). But I'd be totally okay with them being in-game models.
As an example, see these lights. You can see the polygons quite clearly.

Their new tessellation engine will fix that. Adding polygons isn't going to make the exteriors look any better, but, improved lighting, shaders, materials and shadow resolution. While exteriors generally look fine, I do feel they could use additional detail. I do hope there are 'higher' quality models out there like you've mentioned but personally I would rather have highly detailed interior views of exterior views to be honest!GT5's photomode cars are still quite low-poly though. I always considered the Premium cars as being built for next-gen and beyond. They're pretty much capable of anything, up to motion-picture VFX level... you can't really expect more. Now they just need to work on the tracks and the sound.

Another reason to not get GT6, just found out my G27 is broken.
Fan fucking tastic!
Lol WTF... why are so many people's wheels braking right now!?!?! Right in time for Assetto Corsa and GT6... ugh.
Just turned on GT5 after a long hiatus to humiliate Brotkasten and the throttle isn't working at all, clutch as well, and brake works 100% but it also accelerates up to 40%
Open and clean the pedals from inside. There are many guides on the net, just follow the procedure and do not use extra greasing unless 100% necessary. But cleaning dust and inwards contacts solves 90% of problems. It is easy procedure.
Yeah I've been watching a guide on GTplanet, but I'm too clumsy when it comes to these things, I'd probably brake it even more.
*edit* From what I can tell each Pedal has it's own potentiometer, so if the Brake Pedal accelerates AND brakes, it probably means something else is wrong no? :/

You owe me new pedals amar...
I opened and messed up one of the screws, no I can't unscrew it.
Mother!"#$!%!$!
At least I managed to find out the problem isn't actually in the pedals, because switching the cable reproduces the problems with any pedal.
Knowing my self I'd probably end up soldering all the wires togheter. I plugged it in and all the buttons work, so I'm guessing this is the cable for the LEDs, so *phew*
I still can't find anything else wrong that could explain the pedals not working -.-
Clean the hell out of them. Not just a air can. I used a Q-tips and WD40. If that fails I would recommend getting replacement pots. I did this and solved the stuck pedal issue. But it will return if you do not clean your pots at least twice a year.
This game looks more interesting than DriveClub and especially Forza.
Took everything apart, broke one cable up, only to realize afterwards it was just a bent cable -.-
