New Gran Turismo 6 trailers [Complete blowout: All cars/tracks/features/etc]

i cant find the pitstop pics which better looking than GT5 bullshots but i did find this which is very compressed too but has more natural lighting. obviously most of you wont agree as its a GT thread but still

Ok, I admit, that one looks good.

Hadn't seen that one before.

its pretty crazy how they do that when the gameplay looks a gen behind that
Everything is the same besides the IQ. Same lighting, same models, same textures, etc.

Is that PCars? That looks like real life. The compression/grain actually complements the picture very well. Gives it an air of authenticity :p

Most PCar shots look somewhat unrealistic to me so I'm honestly surprised. They look good, but unrealistic.

so they could just upress GT5 on PS4 and it would look that good..pretty insane..they could even go 4k if they went that route (ut oh)

Not the compression. In motion the lighting just doesn't look as convincing to me.

Anyway, I just pre-ordered gt6 from Gamestop for the anniversary edition. Wish it was from Amazon though.

I wish they'd cram as many tracks as possible into the game. I don't even care if they're upressed PS2 ports. It's not like some of the PS3 tracks look that good to begin with. I drove a while on the Rome track, because I tried to win the Lambo Pro Series race with sport hard tyres (and failed miserably) and that's one really ugly track.

I know I want to play GT6, but I don't know how much game time it would get with the PS4 beating it to my living room... Tell me GAF would I just be wasting money?

I may just be ignorant and guessing here, but I doubt you're going to get as good an overall gaming experience on PS4 for a little while as you will with getting GT6 on PS3.

If the app is as good as it sounds, I'll definitely pick up GT6 just for that. There are so many roads around me that would be awesome to do in an actual fast car. Only problem I can see is some of the thrill might be taken away because a few of the roads are bordered by a rock wall on one side and a cliff on the other, whereas the game would probably just have a grass field or something.

why bother?

because it's a must have option that needs to be there, if they haven't included it it needs flagging up.

will there be a website portal to go with the gt app? if there is then they should integrate google maps/earth within the course maker page - that would be the best option.

mobile app for local mapping, website for global mapping.

somebody who's a member on the us playstation blog / forums, please raise this issue.

That`s my take on how this "GPS to GT6 track" will look like:
1. They will release official mobile GT app, with in build GPS track record functionality.
2. Created GPS tracks will be uploaded directly from mobile to GT website (you know, that one where you can log in and watch your progress, messages etc).
3. There will be absolutely zero possibilities to alter those files or import other ones, created in different applications/formats (some closed hashed "GT_GPS" file format).

That`s because of legal and license matters of track recreation in game: you are gonna be limited to only driven by yourself files.
I would really love to have a more open approach, like launching i.e. Google Earth and create route on roads/track (even non existing now) I will never be but one can dream...

I'm fully expecting to abandon my PS4 after a week and have no regrets, you should play what you want to play, the PS4 will be there for the next 10 years.

Has there been any videos/images of the user interface? GT5 interface with it's unending loading screens and clumsy interface really turned me off.

It was great when I could get into a race though, the sense of driving is superb.

Exactly my thoughts on it.

I once made a track for GTR2 with Google Earth data of around where I grew up using Bob's Track Builder. It was basically just the layout and that's it, because I couldn't be bothered to put the effort into making a detailed recreation, but I'd love it if we can do something similar with GT6.

I thought about doing that as well in GTR2 but it seemed like an enormous amount of time would be needed. Hopefully GT's is easy to use and works well. lol, yeah right.

Someone will hack it to make it do what the users want then PD will update the game to lock out those mods.

I just hope we have more control/better tools to make tracks. GT5 tools were far too random. I want to be able to adjust elevations for each turn.

Well it seems the way you get licenses in GT6 has completely changed. Now to state this is me just theory crafting based on a single screenshot of one of the menus in game, so anything I said could later be proven wrong but anyways.

Look at this picture = http://www.gran-turismo.com/images/c/i1KkksdNxfuwdG.jpg

As you see there is three racing events. I think depending on your performance in each of these events awards you a set amount of stars. If you look in the corner on bottom-right it says 15 Stars Required for National B License.

It would looks like completing the Sunday Cup awards 6 Stars. So it looks like Career Progression ties into License Progression. As you can see in the upper-right corner the progression of this player is 12 out of a possible 24 stars for Novice Level. However the only thing we can't confirm so far is that getting 15 Stars either gives you the license (As in simply winning Race Events you are awarded the license and there are no actual tests), Or getting enough stars just unlocks the test itself. (Hopefully it's the latter to extend game length and provide a level of tiered progression)

In previous games of the series you were never required to race to get the licenses. You could if you wanted to unlock all of the licenses including the Super License before ever touching Career mode. Based on this screencap, it would seem GT6 is the first time in the series that you are required to do Career events before being getting access to the license or license tests (Which ever you get I'm uncertain of)

This is could be good or bad, ether they streamlined the experience by integrating the licensing system into the career mode and thus tiered progression, OR they turned the whole thing in to Grind Turismo 6. I guess we will find out when the first reviews drop or the get our hands on the games ourselves.

The "Final Test For Novice" text suggests you still do the tests to get the license.

Are they photo mode models ( higher detail than actual in-game) or not?

Just checking some of the scenes, some look insanely detailed showing very little polygon edges, like this one for instance.

Adaptive Tessellation
Adaptive tessellation is next generation technology in terms of 3D model rendering. Tessellation involves dividing a polygon into multiple geometric tiles, and in adaptive tessellation, the polygons will automatically divide and become finer according to the viewing distance and position. This makes it possible to maintain the quality of the renders very high whether you are close or far from your viewing object.

hi there,

i wonder about the following things:

-installed data
-downloading data(if there is any, like in most pc games)
-dlc(how much is there going to be?)
-how buggy is the first"version" of gt6?
-do the race tracks/cars again have that splitting between imported(old and recycled) and premium(new and shiney and with a lot of car porn potential)

i enjoyed gt5 for a bit, but i bought it for a tenner when it was released as the academy edition last year.

not going to join this party, because it seems to have new content but none of the old mistakes were corrected.

no damage-model and the standard cars were not upgraded.

I have a feeling PD wanted to focus more on adding new premium cars instead of dedicating time to upgrading more standards.

But they did upgrade some standard models and you'd think they'd dedicate time to upgrade some of the more popular and classic models, like the AE86, Datsun Z432 or the Supra Mark IV. It's a huge shame that those cars are still treated as unimportant, while they completely modeled some shitty Alpine.

Take that back you scum!

Seriously though, what's the obsession with the AE86 about? Is it just Initial D?
