Damn.

I'll be shocked if this is truly what the PC version will look like, massive difference right there.

280 3GB is still pretty good, Metro Last light on very high is around 45fps at 1080p. It's a 7950 overclocked really.

Thanks lorigta for the comparison. PC is looking fantastic.

What set up would I get to run this at max easily at 1080? I don't care about 4k and other crazy bells and whistles. Is there any card on the market that can do this without tinkering? And as you can see, I have no idea what settings do what other than the basic aliasing and v-sync type stuff.

We have no idea what the max settings entails, so no one can answer that. It's entirely possible that there could be settings, that when at max, couldn't be practically used even on a Titan X.

That's not likely, but it is possible. Don't chase "max settings", it doesn't make any sense to because it is not standardised, "max settings" vary from game to game.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves - Rockstar claimed greater pedestrian and vehicle density in the PS4/Bone ports too, which was really only slightly greater.

It was much higher, they just showed it off at times of day where there's more traffic, which is more realistic than constant traffic.

The screenshots are highly composed to look good. PC version with a good GPU will look amazing. I just want to see it running on actually hardware with game play.

Spiced up screens with specific camera angles being used to compare the PS4 actual game play screens is not really a fair comparison. The PC screens are not dealing with lod and texture pop in like the PS4 either. It's all tidied up.

Just because you mostly don't see that much traffic in the same place doesn't mean you won't. On PS3 it could be very dense sometimes even. Same on PS4. It all comes down to the time of day and not to mention a design aspect. Super dense traffic like in that trailer would make it impossible to drive at super high speeds which would be less fun. That trailer only showed what's possible. Except for the traffic density they delivered in the graphical area.

Nowhere ever is the traffic density that high in the PS4 version. The trailer was not telling truth. This is why actual game play matters to me.

The difference here is that unlike the console versions, we'll likely have the power to either officially (or unofficially through tweaking/modding) change the density to whatever we desire. Assuming you've got the CPU and GPU to handle it.

I hate that the steam version of this isnt cheaper anywhere

:,(

will probably run like shit on my 2gig 680 anyway

btw: the game is $10 cheaper on Steam in latin america ($49.99 as opposed to $59.99)

not sure what's the deal with region lock but I think there aint one gifting from latin america to US

I can help in getting it for $50 if that's the case

If by "shit" you mean look better than the current-gen console versions with a better framerate, then yes ;)

Oh sorry, you were rationalizing there.....Yes, It'll look horrible and run at 15 fps.

Hopefully we wont have people in the PC performance thread complaining that their 660/7870 doesn't run the game well enough while looking the same as these shots.

I hope my patience will be rewarded, stopped playing the xbox 360 version early on, hoping for a pc version.

I really hope they don't delay this again.

Every screen shot looks like a cartoon after being spoiled by The Order.

On the other hand. The pics still look great.

I'm gonna wait for the first GAF reviews to hit, and will pick it up as soon as possible. I don't want to go through the initial DRM and connection issues clusterfuck, or I'll lose at least 4 years from my life.

And I think this game warrants an SSD installation...

That shadow from the tree looks a bit funky. Just look at the tire.

Could use some of that Nvidia secret sauce

What's funky about it? The terrain is pretty uneven and bumpy there, so it'll distort how the shadow falls.

Still nothing about the sketchy sounding DRM?

Guess we''ll be finding out after the game's out. Not touching this game until this has been clarified and deemed unshitty.
